hot cracking during solidification can be a serious problem in aluminium casting alloys under certain *** feature is well known,but still insuffi ciently investigated in shape *** study gives a brief overview of the factors inf luencing hot cracking during shape *** different AlSi7MgCu alloys with varying Mg and Cu contents were *** models,including the cracking susceptibility coeffi cient(CSC)from Clyne and Davies,were *** calculations(terminal freezing range,TFR)of the behavior of the solid fraction during solidif ication were compared to an experimentbased hot cracking indexing(hCI)*** electron microscopy(SEM)was used to compare the existing microstructure and precipitated thermodynamic phases using the software ThermoCalc Classic(TCC).Furthermore,SEM was used to investigate crack surfaces initiated by a dog-bone shaped mold during casting.A good correlation between theoretical models and the experimental hot cracking index method was observed.

The forming behaviour of AW-7075-T6sheet was studied across a range of shock heat treatment(ShT)temperatures of200?480°*** ShT,formability of the samples was investigated by tension and deep drawing tests at room *** scanning calorimetry(DSC)was used to study the precipitation states of the AW-7075sheet in the as-received and shockheat treated *** was started to improve with increasing shock heat treatment temperature from300°C *** hardening resulted from the dissolution ofη′precipitates and the coarsening of remaining precipitates were found to contributeto the increase in formability at room ***-precipitation and coarsening of the precipitates were responsible for thepost-paint baking strength of ShT samples.

The objective of this work is to study the cryogenic sheet metal forming behaviour of precipitation hardening *** this regard,the flow curves and forming limit curves were obtained by tension and Nakazima experimental testing methods in thetemperature ranges from-196to25°*** was found that strength and elongation increase with decreasing *** butperceived differences between microstructure of the material deformed at the room and cryogenic temperatures respectively wereidentified by electron backscatter diffraction(EBSD)***,no significant difference in the precipitation kinetics duringcontinuous heating in the DSC has been *** study has demonstrated the potential of cryogenic forming by manufacturinga B-pillar part with8mm depth of side design element as compared to6mm at room temperature.

In recent years,wire-arc directed energy deposition(wa DED),which is also commonly known as wire-arc additive manufacturing(WAAM),has emerged as a promising new fabrication technique for magnesium *** major reason for this is the possibility of producing parts with a complex geometry as well as a fine-grained *** the process has been shown to be applicable for Mg-Al-Zn alloys,there is still a lack of knowledge in terms of the influence of the WAAM process on the age-hardening ***,this study deals with the aging response of a WAAM AZ91 *** order to fully understand the mechanisms during aging,first,the as-built condition was analyzed by means of high-energy X-ray diffraction(hEXRD)and scanning electron *** investigations revealed a finegrained,equiaxed microstructure with adjacent areas of alternating Al ***,the difference between single-and double-step aging as well as conventional and direct aging was studied on the as-built WAAM AZ91 alloy for the first *** aging response during the various heat treatments was monitored via in situ hEXRD *** electron microscopy and hardness studies were *** results showed that the application of a double-step aging heat treatment at 325℃with pre-aging at 250℃slightly improves the mechanical properties when compared to the single-step heat treatment at 325℃.however,the hardness decreases considerably after the pre-aging ***,aging at lower temperatures is preferable within the investigated temperature range of 250-325℃.Moreover,no significant difference between the conventionally aged and directly aged samples was ***,the specimens showed enhanced precipitation kinetics during aging as compared to cast *** could be attributed to a higher amount of nucleation sites and the particular temperature profile of the solution heat treatment.
