Effect of alumina content and heat treatment on microstructure and upconversion emission of Er^(3+)ions in oxyfluoride glass-ceramics

The effect of alumina content and heat treatment temperature and time, on microstructure and Er3＋（0.5 mol.%） emission of oxyfluoride glass-ceramics were investigated in this research. Two values of 1.8 （SA1.8Er0.5） and 2.18 （SA2.18Er0.5） were selected in this research for SiO2/Al2O3 ratio. According to DTA results, precursor glasses were heat treated at 630, 660 and 690 ℃ for 4 h and some glasses were also heat treated at 630 ℃ for 48 and 72 h. The results indicated that alumina content had significant effect on phase separation and viscosity of the glasses. Therefore the size, size distribution, and volume concentration of nano CaF2 crystals which precipitated during the heat treatment depended on alumina content of the glass. Due to the much smaller size of the precipitated CaF2 crystals in the glasses of low alumina content, these samples maintained excellent transparency and had narrower crystal size distribution than the high alumina glasses. The crystal size was increased markedly with the temperature increasing from 630 to 690 ℃. On the other hand a slight increase was observed in the crystal size by raising the heat treatment time in both glasses. Results indicated that in low alumina content glass （SA2.18Er0.5） the size of CaF2 nanocrystals was controlled in one order of magnitude. The increase of heat treatment time and temperature led to the incorporation of Er3＋ ions into CaF2 crystalline phase, increasing significantly the upconversion intensity. After heat treatment at 690 ℃for 4 h, atomic force microscope （AFM） revealed the development of small crystals with an average size of 80 and 30 nm in SA1.8Er0.5 and SA2.18Er0.5 samples, respectively.

Soil capacity to support life and to produce economic goods and services is strongly linked to the maintenance of good soil physical quality(SPQ). In this study, the SPQ of citrus orchards was assessed under three different soil managements, namely no-tillage using herbicides, tillage under chemical farming, and no-tillage under organic farming. Commonly used indicators, such as soil bulk density,organic carbon content, and structural stability index, were considered in conjunction with capacitive indicators estimated by the Beerkan estimation of soil transfer parameter(BEST) method. The measurements taken at the L'Alcoleja Experimental Station in Spain yielded optimal values for soil bulk density and organic carbon content in 100% and 70% of cases for organic farming. The values of structural stability index indicated that the soil was stable in 90% of cases. Differences between the soil management practices were particularly clear in terms of plant-available water capacity and saturated hydraulic conductivity. Under organic farming, the soil had the greatest ability to store and provide water to plant roots, and to quickly drain excess water and facilitate root *** practices adopted under organic farming(such as vegetation cover between the trees, chipping after pruning, and spreading the chips on the soil surface) improved the SPQ. Conversely, the conventional management strategies unequivocally led to soil degradation owing to the loss of organic matter, soil compaction, and reduced structural stability. The results in this study show that organic farming has a clear positive impact on the SPQ, suggesting that tillage and herbicide treatments should be avoided.

The drought followed two rainless seasons that led to crop failures, widespread loss of livestock and rising food prices in parts of Ethiopia, Kenya, Djibouti, Somalia and Uganda. The drought left over 11 million people in need of life-saving assistance throughout the region.

Several obstacles to the production,expansion and genetic modification of immunotherapeutic T cells in vitro have restricted the widespread use of T-cell *** the context of HSCT,delayed naïve T-cell recovery contributes to poor outcomes.A novel approach to overcome the major limitations of both T-cell immunotherapy and HSCT would be to transplant human T-lymphoid progenitors(HTLPs),allowing reconstitution of a fully functional naïve T-cell pool in the patient ***,it is challenging to produce HTLPs in the high numbers required to meet clinical ***,we found that adding tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNFα)to a DL-4-based culture system led to the generation of a large number of nonmodified or genetically modified HTLPs possessing highly efficient in vitro and in vivo T-cell potential from either CB HSPCs or mPB HSPCs through accelerated T-cell differentiation and enhanced HTLP cell cycling and *** study provides a clinically suitable cell culture platform to generate high numbers of clinically potent nonmodified or genetically modified HTLPs for accelerating immune recovery after HSCT and for T-cell-based immunotherapy(including CAR T-cell therapy).

Background:The emergence of dengue fever has prompted significant public health responses,highlighting the need for a comprehensive understanding of One Health in addressing vector-borne ***'s experience in dengue control and prevention programs offers valuable insights into the successful integration of multidisciplinary ***:The review aims to:(1)systematically analyze lessons from China's dengue control and prevention programs,focusing on the integration of these efforts with the One Health approach;(2)underscore the reasons of optimizing the dengue control and prevention program;(3)highlight the alignment of China's dengue control strategies with the One Health framework;(4)contribute to global efforts in combating dengue,providing scientific evidence and strategic recommendations for other regions facing similar ***:Through a comprehensive literature review and expert interviews,this study found China's approach to dengue control and prevention implemented through a hierarchical system led by the government,with collaborative efforts across multiple *** multi-sectoral collaboration mechanism enables the technical interventions well executed by health and disease control institutions,optimizing the integration of multiple costeffeteness approaches,such as case management,early detection and outbreak response,reducing local transmission,and minimizing severe cases and *** was found that community participation and public health education have played a vital role in raising awareness,promoting personal protective measures,and enhancing the overall effectiveness of control *** implementation of these integrated interventions has resulted in reduced dengue cases and improved capacity of outbreak ***'s dengue control strategies under the One Health framework,with focus on interdisciplinary collaboration,incorporated environmental and ecological interventions,which reduced mosquito breeding
