Purpose:To examine the effects of a school.based.karate intervention on acad.mic achievement,psychosocial.functioning,and.physical.fitness in chil.ren aged.7-8 ***:Twenty school. in 5 d.fferent European countries(2 second.grad. cl.ssrooms per school.participated.in a cl.ster rand.mized.control.ed.trial.Sport at School.trial..Participants were assigned.to either a control.group,which continued.with their habitual.physical.ed.cation l.ssons,or to an intervention group,which repl.ced.these l.ssons with a 1-year karate intervention(Karate Mind.and.Movement program).A total.of 721 chil.ren(344 girl. and.377 boys,7.4±0.5 years ol.,mean±Sd.compl.ted.the stud.,of which 333 and.388 were assigned.to the control.group and.intervention group,*** incl.d.d.acad.mic performance(average grad.),psychosocial.functioning(Strengths and.d.fficul.ies Questionnaire for parents),and.d.fferent markers of physical.fitness(card.orespiratory fitness,bal.nce,and.fl.xibil.ty).Resul.s:The intervention provid.d.smal. but significant benefits compared.to the control.group for acad.mic achievement(d.0.16;p=0.003),cond.ct probl.ms(d.-0.28;p=0.003),card.orespiratory fitness(d.0.36;pd.bal.nce(d.0.24;p=0.015).There was a trend.toward. significant benefits for fl.xibil.ty(d.0.24;p=0.056).No significant benefits were observed.for other variabl.s,incl.d.ng psychosocial.d.fficul.ies,emotional.symptoms,hyperactivity/inattention,peer probl.ms,or prosocial.behaviour(al. p>0.05).Concl.sion:A 1-year school.based.karate intervention was effective in improving acad.mic achievement,cond.ct probl.ms,and.physical.fitness in primary school.*** resul.s support the incl.sion of karate d.ring physical.ed.cation l.ssons.

The fruits of d.cryod.s ed.l.s are rich in biol.gical.y active substances, which makes them of great interest in terms of val.d.tion. In this stud., we targeted.the primary metabol.tes in the epicarp, the mesocarp and.the seed.of the fruit of d.cryod.s ed.l.s at taste maturity, which were sel.cted.for their nutritional.qual.ty and.its appreciation throughout the Gul. of Guinea area, which is very popul.r because of its l.rge size, texture and.special.taste. The eval.ation of total.carbohyd.ates, total.l.pid. and.sol.bl. proteins in the epicarp, mesocarp and.seed.of the fruit at taste maturity was mad. from spectrophotometer measurements. The overal. anal.sis of the resul.s of the present stud. shows that total.carbohyd.ates, total.l.pid. and.proteins accumul.te more in the seed.with respectivel. 251.33 ± 1.15 mg/g d.;9.92 ± 0.201 mg/g d. and.55.075 ± 0.024 mg/g d.. l.kewise, the resul.s ind.cate l.w concentrations of total.carbohyd.ates and.total.l.pid. in the epicarp with respectivel. 245 ± 1 mg/g d. and.4.77 ± 0.047 mg/g d., on the other hand. it is the mesocarp which presents the l.west content of sol.bl. proteins: 28.075 ± 3.231 mg/g d.. This variation coul. be l.nked.to the nature of the compartment, more particul.rl. to the storage l.cation. This comparative stud. coul. l.ad.to the val.rization of the seed.of the fruit of d.cryod.s ed.l.s for its richness in metabol.tes and.arouse significant interest in nutrition.

This stud. aimed.to eval.ate the qual.ty of water from vil.age borehol.s by measuring physicochemical.parameters such as nitrates, nitrites, and.total.organic carbon (TOC). Forty-five (45) vil.age pumps from the Southern (Basse Côte) and.the Northern (Korhogo) region of Cte d.Ivoire (west Africa) were sampl.d. Physicochemical.parameters such as temperature, pH, cond.ctivity at 25˚C, and.turbid.ty were d.termined.in situ, whil. nitrite and.nitrate were anal.zed.accord.ng to ISO 10304-1 (2007) stand.rd.and.total.organic carbon (TOC) by NF EN 1484 (1997) stand.rd. The resul.s showed.that the borehol. waters of the Basse Côte and.Korhogo anal.zed.are acid.c, with an average temperature of 27.51˚C ± 0.16˚C and.29.95˚C ± 0.51˚C respectivel. for the Basse Côte and.Korhogo regions. The borehol. waters of the Basse Côted. not contain nitrites, whil. those of Korhogo have average nitrite contents of 0.32 mg/l. The average nitrate rate in the waters of the Basse Côte and.Korhogo are 12.08 ± 2.11 mg/l.and.11.03 ± 3.18 mg/l.respectivel.. The average TOC concentration of the waters of the Basse Côte is 1.28 ± 0.32 mg/l.and.that of Korhogo is 0.56 ± 0.09 mg/l. The stud. showed.that the borehol. waters of the Basse Côte and.Korhogo have average temperatures between 27.4˚C and.29.95˚C with a sl.ghtl. acid.c pH val.e and.acceptabl. sal.nity. The TOC concentrations obtained.at the d.fferent sampl.ng points were al. bel.w the French stand.rd.(2 mg/l. except for certains pumps of the Basse Côte. The water sampl.s from the Basse Côte were d.void.of nitrite. On the other hand. those from Korhogo reveal.d.the presence of nitrite. Al.o, the borehol. waters of the regions of the Basse Côte and.Korhogo contain rel.tivel. high nitrate contents, presumabl. d.e to anthropometric activity. Overal., our stud. on the qual.ty of d.inking water showed.that the waters anal.zed.are in compl.ance with international.stand.rd. and.safe for consumption.

The Minamata Convention in the aim to protect human l.fe and.the environment, seeks to red.ce mercury (Hg) by monitoring it concentrations in the environment. Artisanal.and.Smal.-scal. Gol. Mining (ASGM) has been id.ntified.as the most important anthropogenic source of human exposure to Hg. In this context, the main goal.of this stud. was to assess the l.vel.of mercury in hair of two (2) popul.tions l.ving al.ng two l.goons respectivel. Aby and.Tend., in Ivory Coast. To reach this goal. hair sampl.s of 138 resid.nts were col.ected.and.anal.zed.by using Col. Vapor Atomic Fl.orescence Spectrophotometry (CV-AFS) technique for mercury concentration. Resul.s showed.that for the entire popul.tion the Hg mean was 2.34 μg/g. Al.o, they were ranged.between 0.15 to 8.53 μg/g and.presented.substantial.d.fferences amongst the vil.ages. In Aby vil.age, we observed.the highest Hg concentrations (Mean = 2.62 μg/g). Our find.ngs showed.that al.ost the entire sampl. group (82%) exceed.the USEPA recommend.d.l.mit, furthermore 56% of them exceed.the normal.l.vel.of WHO and.2% of the respond.nt has the unheal.hy l.vel. of mercury (≥6 μg Hg/g) of hair by WHO stand.rd.. Gend.r d.fferences in hair mercury varies greatl. among reports. l.wer l.vel. in women’s hair compared.to men were reported.in the both vil.age. Consid.ring age, the l.west concentrations were observed.with chil.ren. However, when we take in account the age groups, d.ta suggested.that the most exposed.sub-popul.tion of [18-29] years ol. is from Aby vil.age in opposite at Frambo vil.age, the same case those who were ≥ 40 years ol.. It’s convenient to note that, the proportion of Mercury l.vel. woul. not to be negl.cted.among stud.ed.popul.tion especial.y with the resid.nt from Aby vil.age. So, some measures need.to be taken at the pol.tical.l.vel.to control.mercury contamination.

Effect of el.agitannins gut microbiota metabol.tes el.agic acid.(EA) and.urol.thin A-urol.thin d.(UroA-Urod. on human serum al.umin (HSA) gl.cation were firstl. eval.ated.in this research. The inhibition mechanisms were investigated.by methyl.l.oxal.(MGO) trapping and.rad.cal.scavenging abil.ty assays， d.cking stud.es and.Nano l.-Orbitrap-MS/MS technol.gy. Resul.s ind.cated.that the inhibition of urol.thins on HSA gl.cation was highl. positive correl.ted.with the number of phenol.c hyd.oxy groups. Ad.ition of Urod.and.EA coul. effectivel. enhance the content of free amino group， suppress d.carbonyl.compound. and.ad.anced.gl.cation end.prod.cts (AGEs) formation， al.eviated.tryptophan and.protein oxid.tion， inhibited.HSA amyl.id.l.ke aggregation. They coul. al.o trap MGO and.scavenge d.PH· and.ABTS·+. Mol.cul.r d.cking ind.cated.that EA and.UroA-Urod.interact with HSA mainl. through hyd.ogen bound.and.hyd.ophobic interaction， among which two or three hyd.ogen bond. were formed. The number of gl.cation sites were red.ced.from 11 to 10， 10， 7， and.10， respectivel.， when 90 μmol.l.of EA， UroA， UroC and.Urod.were ad.ed. However， weak inhibition was observed.on UroA and.UroB. These find.ngs can provid. scientific evid.nce for the appl.cation of el.agitannins-rich food. in al.eviating d.abetic compl.cations.

The stud. eval.ated.the growth performance and.carcass qual.ty of COBB500 broil.rs fed.two experimental.rations incorporating feed.and.mango fine Ed.sub>10 for a batch of 83 bird., Ed.sub>20 (batch of 83 bird.) in comparison with a commercial.control.ration CCd.(84 bird.). For this purpose, 250 d.y-ol. chicks of this breed.were purchased.in Korhogo and.transported.to Tengrél. in Ivory Coast for rearing. The resul.s show that substituting mango provend.r ans and.mango seed.fl.ur for maize resul.ed.in rations with costs per kgMS of 215.35FCFA, 2016.93FCFA and.320FCFA for the Ed.sub>10, Ed.sub>20 and.CCd.rations respectivel.. The prod.ction costs per kg of chicken (FCPkgl.) of the CCd.ration were significantl. higher than those of the Ed.0 and.Ed.sub>20 (p 0.05). Ad.s were significantl. d.fferent and.d.creasing from CCd. Ed.sub>20 to Ed.sub>10 (p 0.05). Average weights at 42nd.d.y for Ed.sub>20 and.CCd.were homogeneous (p > 0.05) and.significantl. higher than for Ed.sub>10 (p 0.05). By d.y 49th the average weight of Ed.sub>20 had.reached.and.exceed.d.that of CCd.by d.y 42nd. PSl., HCW and.CCW were significantl. d.fferent and.d.creasing from CCW, Ed.sub>20 to Ed.sub>10 (p 0.05). Average hot (HCY) and.cool.d.(CCY) carcass yiel.s of Ed.sub>20 and.CCd.rations were comparabl. (p > 0.05) and.significantl. higher than those of Ed.sub>10 ration (p = 0.009) and.0.003). Average d.umstick and.neck weights were significantl. higher and.l.wer for CCd. Ed.sub>20 and.Ed.sub>10 (p 0.05). For al. other parts of the cut, the average weights of the CCd.ration were significantl. higher (p 0.05) than those of the Ed.sub>20 and.Ed.sub>10 rations, which were homogeneous (p 0.05).
