Construction of 3D porous Cu_(1.81)S/nitrogen-doped carbon frameworks for ultrafast and long-cycle life sodium-ion storage

Transition metal sulfides have great potential as anode mterials for sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)due to their high theoretical specific ***,the inferior intrinsic conductivity and large volume variation during sodiation-desodiation processes seriously affect its high-rate and long-cyde performance,unbeneficial for the application as fast-charging and long-cycling SIBs ***,the three-dimensional porous Cu_(1.81)S/nitrogen-doped carbon frameworks(Cu_(1.81)S/NC)are synthesized by the simple and facile sol-gel and annealing processes,which can accommodate the volumetric expansion of Cu_(1.81)S nanoparticles and accelerate the transmission of ions and electrons during Na^(+)insertion/extraction processes,exhibiting the excellent rate capability(250.6 mA·g^(-1)at 20.0 A·g^(-1))and outstanding cycling stability(70% capacity retention for 6000 cycles at 10.0 A·g^(-1))for ***,the Na-ion full cells coupled with Na_(3)V_(2)(PO_(4))_(3)/C cathode also demonstrate the satisfactory reversible specific capacity of 330.5 mAh·g^(-1)at 5.0 A·g^(-1)and long-cycle performance with the 86.9% capacity retention at 2.0 A·g^(-1)after 750 *** work proposes a promising way for the conversionbased metal sulfides for the applications as fast-charging sodium-ion battery anode.

Configurational information entropy(CIE)theory was employed to determine the neutron-skin thickness of neutron-rich calcium *** nuclear density distributions and fragment cross sections in 350 MeV/u ^(40-60)Ca+^(9)Be projectile fragmentation reactions were calculated using a modified statistical abrasion-ablation *** quantities were determined from the nuclear density,isotopic,mass,and charge *** linear correlations between the CIE determined using the isotopic,mass,and charge distributions and the neutron-skin thickness of the projectile nucleus show that CIE provides new methods to extract the neutron-skin thickness of neutron-rich nuclei.

Plasmonic characteristics of suspended graphene-coated wedge porous silicon nanowires with Ag partition

We investigate a graphene-coated nanowire waveguide(GCNW) composed of two suspended wedge porous silicon nanowires and a thin Ag partition. The plasmonic characteristics of the proposed structure in terahertz(THz) frequency band are simulated by the finite element method(FEM). The parameters including the gap between the nanowires and Ag partition, the height of the nanowire, the thickness of the Ag partition, and the Fermi level of graphene, are optimized. The simulation results show that a normalized mode field area of ~10-4 and a figure of merit of ~100 can be achieved. Compared with the cylindrical GCNW and isolated GCNW, the proposed wedge GCNW has good electric field enhancement.A waveguide sensitivity of 32.28 is obtained, which indicates the prospects of application in refractive index(RI) sensing in THz frequency band. Due to the adjustable plasmonic characteristics by changing the Fermi level(EF), the proposed structure has promising applications in the electro-optic modulations, optical interconnects, and optical switches.

A biological sensing structure with a high-order mode(E^(y)_(21))is designed,which is composed of a suspended racetrack micro-resonator(SRTMR)and a microfluidic *** mode characteristics,coupling properties,and sensing performances are simulated by using the finite element method(FEM).To analyze the mode confinement property,the confinement factors in the core and cladding of the suspended waveguide for the E^(x)_(11),E^(y)_(11),and E^(y)_(21) are *** simulation results show that the refractive index(RI)sensitivity of the proposed sensing structure can be improved by using the high-order mode(Ey 21).The RI sensitivity for the E^(y)_(21) mode is~201 nm/RIU,which is twice to thrice higher than those for the E^(x)_(11) mode and the E^(y)_(11) *** a commercial spectrometer,the proposed sensing structure based on the SRTMR achieves a limit of detection(LOD)of -4.7×10^(-6) *** with the microfluidic channel,the SRTMR can possess wide applications in the clinical diagnostic assays and biochemical detections.

Very low frequency(VLF)signals are propagated between the *** interference will cause the phase to show oscillatory changes with distance while propagating at night,leading to abnormalities in the received VLF *** study uses the VLF signal received in Qingdao City,Shandong province,from the Russian Alpha navigation system to explore the multimode interference problem of VLF signal *** characteristics of the effect of multimode interference phenomena on the phase are analyzed according to the variation of the phase of the VLF ***,the phase of VLF signals will also be affected by the X-ray and energetic particles that are released during the eruption of solar flares,therefore the two phenomena are studied in this *** is concluded that the X-ray will not affect the phase of VLF signals at night,but the energetic particles will affect the phase change,and the influence of energetic particles should be excluded in the study of multimode interference *** VLF signals for navigation positioning in degraded or unavailable GPS conditions is of great practical significance for VLF navigation systems as it can avoid the influence of multimode interference and improve positioning accuracy.

Dielectric engineering plays a crucial role in the process of device *** we investigate the electrical properties of bilayer GaSe metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors(MOSFETs),considering hetero-gate-dielectric construction,dielectric materials and GaSe stacking *** results show that device performance strongly depends on the dielectric constants and locations of *** highk dielectric is placed close to the drain,it behaves with a larger on-state current(I_(on))of 5052μA/μm when the channel is 5 ***,when the channel is 5 nm and insulator is HfO_(2),the largest I_(on) is 5134μA/μm for devices with AC stacking GaSe *** particular,when the gate length is 2 nm,it still meets the HP requirements of ITRS 2028 for the device with AA stacking when high-k dielectric is ***,the work provides guidance to regulate the performance of the two-dimensional nanodevices by dielectric engineering.

Two dimensional GeO_(2)/MoSi_(2)N_(4)van der Waals heterostructures with robust type-Ⅱ band alignment

Constructing two-dimensional(2D)van der Waals heterostructures(vdWHs)can expand the electronic and optoelectronic applications of 2D ***,the work on the 2D vdWHs with robust band alignment is still ***,we employ a global structure search approach to construct the vdWHs with monolayer MoSi_(2)N_(4)and widebandgap GeO_(2).The studies show that the GeO_(2)/MoSi_(2)N_(4)vdWHs have the characteristics of direct structures with the band gap of 0.946 eV and typeII band alignment with GeO_(2)and MoSi_(2)N_(4)layers as the conduction band minimum(CBM)and valence band maximum(VBM),***,the direct-to-indirect band gap transition can be achieved by applying biaxial *** particular,the 2D GeO_(2)/MoSi_(2)N_(4)vdWHs show a robust type-II band alignment under the effects of biaxial strain,interlayer distance and external electric *** results provide a route to realize the robust type-II band alignment vdWHs,which is helpful for the implementation of optoelectronic nanodevices with stable characteristics.

A temperature measurement device can produce data deviations and can even be damaged in a high-dose radiation *** reduce the radiation damage to such a device and improve the temperature measurement accuracy in a radiation environment,a temperature sensor based on optical-fiber sensing technology is *** sensor has a cascade structure composed of a single-mode fiber(SMF),a dispersion-compensation fiber(DCF),a nocore fiber(NCF),and another SMF(SDNS).The DCF and NCF are coated with a polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)film,which is a heat-sensitive material with high thermal optical and thermal expansion *** experiments,PDMS was found to produce an irradiation crosslinking effect after irradiation,which improved the temperature sensitivity of the SDNS *** experimental results showed that within a range of 30–100℃,the maximum temperature sensitivity after irradiation was 62.86 pm/℃,and the maximum transmission sensitivity after irradiation was 3.353×10^(-2)dB/℃,which were 1.22 times and 2.267 times the values before irradiation,*** addition,repeated temperature experiments verified that the SDNS sensor coated with the PDMS film had excellent temperature ***,it was found that with an increase in the irradiation intensity,the irradiation crosslinking degree of PDMS increased,and the temperature sensitivity of the sensor was *** proposed sensor could potentially be applied to temperature measurement in a nuclear-radiation environment.

Backward rescattered photoelectron holography in strong-field ionization

By numerically solving the time-dependent Schr¨odinger equation, we observe a remarkable strong-field interference pattern in the photoelectron momentum distribution of a hydrogen atom ionized by a few-cycles laser pulse. This interference pattern is joined together with the familiar near-forward strong-field photoelectron holographic interference. By applying the strong-field approximation theory, we investigate the formation of this interference pattern, which arises from the interference between the backward rescattered part and the direct part of the tunneling ionized electron wave packet. We demonstrate that this backward rescattered photoelectron holographic interference can also be observed in a more realistic parallel two-color laser field. These results pave a new way to look into the atomic and molecular structure with ultrafast timescale.

Universal design of three-dimensional porous graphene-iron based promotors for kinetically rationalized lithium-sulfur chemistry

Lithium-sulfur （Li-S） batteries are widely deemed to be one of the most potential candidates for future secondary batteries because of their remarkable energy ***,notorious polysulfide shuttling and retarded sulfur reaction kinetics pose significant obstacles to the further application of Li-S *** rationally designed highly active electrocatalysts can facilitate polysulfide conversion,the universal and scalable synthesis strategies need to be ***,a universal synthetic strategy to construct a series of three-dimensional （3D） porous graphene-iron （3DGr-Fe） based electrocatalysts involving 3DGr-FeP,3DGr-Fe3C,and 3DGr-Fe3Se4is exploited for manipulating the Li-S redox *** has been observed that the implementation of a 3D porous Gr architecture leads to the well-designed conductive networks,while the uniformly dispersed iron nanoparticles introduce an abundance of active sites,fostering the lithium polysulfide conversion,thereby bolstering the overall electrochemical *** Li-S battery with the 3DGr-Fe based electrocatalyst exhibits remarkable capacity retention of 94.8%upon 100 times at 0.2 ***,the soft-packaged Li-S pouch cell based on such a 3DGr-Fe electrocatalyst delivers superior capacity of 1060.71 mA h g-1and guarantees for the continuous 30 min work of fan *** investigation gives comprehensive insights into the design,synthesis,and mechanism of 3DGr-Fe based electrocatalysts with high activity toward efficient and durable Li-S batteries.
