Superhydrophobic and corrosion-resistant siloxane-modified MgAl-LDHs coatings on magnesium alloy prepared under mild conditions

We have developed a superhydrophobic and corrosion-resistant LDH-W/PFDTMS composite coating on the surface of Mg *** composite comprised a tungstate-intercalated(LDH-W)underlayer that was grown at low temperature(relative to hydrothermal reaction conditions)under atmospheric pressure and an outer polysiloxane layer created from a solution containing perfluorodecyltrimethoxysilane(PFDTMS)using a simple immersion *** successful intercalation of tungstate into the LDH phase and the following formation of the polysiloxane layer were confirmed through X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transform infrared(FTIR)spectroscopy,and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS).The corrosion resistance of the LDH-W film,both before and after the PFDTMS modification,was evaluated using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS),Tafel curves,and immersion *** results showed that Mg coated with LDH-W/PFDTMS exhibited significantly enhanced corrosion protection compared to the unmodified LDHW film,with no apparent signs of corrosion after exposure to 3.5wt%NaCl solution for 15 ***,the LDH-W/PFDTMS coating demonstrated superior superhydrophobicity and self-cleaning properties against water and several common beverages,as confirmed by static contact angle and water-repellency *** results offer valuable insights into preparing superhydrophobic and corrosion-resistant LDH-based composite coatings on Mg alloy surfaces under relatively mild reaction conditions.

Research on anti-corrosion property of rare earth inhibitor for X70 steel

Three kinds of rare earth nitrates were adopted to sodium molybdate to get three kinds of LnN-M compounded inhibitors （La（NO3）3＋Na2MoOa（LaN-M）, Ce（NO3）3＋Na2MoOn（CeN-M）, Pr（NO3）3＋Na2MoO4（PrN-M））. The combination of weight-loss method and the electrochemical test, was used to evaluate and analyze the corrosion inhibition efficiency of these LnN-M inhibitors to make the research on their corrosion inhibition performance, and the sequential order of their performance was found as follows： CeN-M〉 LaN-M〉PrN-M, among which, the inhibition efficiency of CeN-M for the X70 steel could reach 98.21%. The synergism parameters were calculated by weight-loss method, these computational data indicated that the synergistic effect between rare earth nitrates and sodium molybdate was obvious and significant. Surface morphology, chemical composition and phase components of the precipitation films were tested for discussing the mechanism of LnN-M inhibitors. The outer electronic configuration of the lanthanide was found to have an important influence on the inhibition efficiency. The CeN-M inhibitor was discovered to have the best inhibition effect with the amorphous cerium oxides. The results of this research revealed that the precipitation films formed on the surface of the steel samples had a crucial influence on the inhibition efficiencies after adding LnN-M inhibitors.

Synthesis,Characterization and Thermostability of a Novel Pb(Ⅱ) Coordination Polymer with Mixed Ligands

A novel mixed-ligand coordination polymer [Pb（phen）（NNDS）（H2O）]n·n H2O（1） was obtained from the reaction of 1,10-phenanthroine（phen）, Pb（OAc）2 and sodium 1-nitroso-2-naphthol-3,6-disulfonate（Na2NNDS） in a mixed solvent. The complex was characterized by elemental analysis, IR and X-ray single-crystal diffraction. Crystal data for 1： monoclinic, space group P21/c, a = 11.5835（9）, b = 14.6334（11）, c = 13.9030（11） A, β = 98.4180（10）o, V = 2331.3（3） A3, Z = 4, Mr = 754.70, Dc = 2.150 mg/m3, μ = 7.483 mm-1, F（000） = 1456, the final R = 0.0430 and w R = 0.0841 for 4221 observed reflections with I 〉 2σ（I）. The Pb（II） center is coordinated by six O and two N atoms showing a distorted dodecahedron configuration. The multidentate ligand of NNDS dianion exhibits peculiar coordination mode, and the two O atoms of two sulfonate anions bridge two Pb（II） cations into a dimer, and the O atom of nitroso group links the other dimer into 2D sheets extending in the [011] plane. There exist significant π-π stacking interactions between adjacent phen and NNDS. The 3D network is formed by 2D sheets interlinked by hydrogen bonds and π-π stacking interactions. The thermostability of 1 was investigated by TG and DSC.

On the improved tensile strength and ductility of Mg-Sn-Zn-Mn alloy processed by aging prior to extrusion

This study investigated the influence of aging prior to extrusion(APE)on the tensile strength and ductility of as-extruded Mg-8.32Sn-1.85Zn-0.17Mn *** demonstrated that APE treatment dramatically increased the volume fraction of recrystallized grains,thereby decreasing the grain size of the as-extruded *** phenomenon was primarily attributed to the particle-stimulated nucleation and pinning effect induced by large amounts of small Mg 2 Sn precipitates produced by the APE treatment and dynamic *** tensile yield strength increased from 242.4 MPa to 256.5 MPa after APE *** improved tensile strength can be attributed to the enhanced grain boundary strengthening and precipitation *** ductility of the as-extruded alloy also markedly increased from 7.1%to 13.5%after the APE *** improved ductility of APE alloy was attributed to the texture randomization,the activity of pyramidalslip and the suppressed formation of{10-11}contraction twins and coarse Mg 2 Sn phases.

The design and performance prediction of efficient anticorrosion materials is a work full of value,novelty,and *** this work,from the perspective of nanostructure and composition,ZnO-based dilute magnetic solid solution(DMSs)with hydrophobic micronano network structure was synthesized through the self-induced effect of raw materials,the impact-resistant network structure,complex micro-channels,and densely nested layers resisted electrolyte ***,the doping of mixed valence Mn element endowed the solid solution with dilute magnetic properties,so the Lorentz force from micromagnetic field changed the movement path of electrons produced by the anode reaction to improve the corrosion inhibition ability of the protective *** the synergy of morphology and magnetism,the corrosion resistance of the DMSs materials was 555.4%and 173.8%higher than that of epoxy resin and ZnO shielding layer,***,a valuable phenomenon was found that the photocatalytic property of DMSs materials was positively correlated with their corrosive *** conclusion,this research provided a novel design idea for new high-efficiency anticorrosion materials.

Fretting wear of micro-arc oxidation coating prepared on Ti6Al4V alloy

Micro-arc oxidation(MAO)coating was prepared on Ti6Al4V alloy surface and its characterizations were detected by Vickers hardness tester,profilometer,scanning electric microscope(SEM),energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer(EDX)and X-ray diffractometer(XRD).Fretting wear behaviors of the coating and its substrate were comparatively tested without lubrication under varied displacement amplitudes(D)in a range of 3-40μm,constant normal load(Fn)of 300 N and frequency of 5 *** results showed that the MAO coating,presenting rough and porous surface and high hardness,mainly consisted of rutile and anatase TiO2 *** with the substrate,the MAO coating could shift the mixed fretting regime(MFR)and slip regime(SR)to a direction of smaller displacement *** the partial slip regime(PSR),lower friction coefficients and slight damage appeared due to the coordination of elastic deformation of contact *** the MFR,the friction coefficient of the coating was lower than that of the substrate as a result of the prevention of plastic deformation by the hard ceramic *** the increase of the displacement amplitude,the degradation of the MAO coating and the substrate increased *** fretting wear mechanisms of the coating were abrasive wear and delamination with some material transfer of *** addition,the coating presented a better property for alleviating fretting wear.

Revisiting the single-step synthesis of quantum dots:The hidden ligand-promoted surface reaction channels

In this work,we revisited the single-step synthesis of CdE(E=S,Se,and Te)quantum dots(QDs).Powdered CdO and elemental chalcogen were directly used for heating-up ***,the in situ dissolution of the solid precursors and related QD formation channels were preliminarily *** general,QDs were generated from homogeneous reactions between dissolved cadmium and chalcogen precursors in bulk *** found that,during single-step synthesis,both the dissolution of CdO and selenium proceeded faster than their ex situ dissolution *** explain this result,we proposed the existence of extra surface reaction channels for QD *** is,QDs could also be generated via on-surface reactions between the solid precursors and the dissolved counter precursors(as“ligands”).The happening of these extra surface reactions would increase the overall dissolution rate of CdO and ***,the circulation of oleic acid which is peculiar to such single-step synthesis should also partly account for the accelerated dissolution of ***,by comparing with two-step synthesis using pre-dissolved CdO,we presented that such single-step synthesis was reliable in making uniform CdE QDs with good *** work reaffirmed the great potential of this single-step strategy in cost-effective synthesis of monodisperse ***,the ligand-promoted surface reaction channels would be applicable in solution-phase synthesis of metal chalcogenide nanocrystals from solid precursors.

Microstructure characteristics of coating with amorphous phases prepared from Fe-based alloy powders by plasma spray

In this paper, alloy powders mixed with a molar ratio of Fe ： P ： C of 80 ： 13 ： 7 were sprayed on Q235 steel by plasma spray method to prepare coating with amorphous phases. The phase composition of the mixed alloy powders and prepared coating were characterized by X-ray diffraction （ XRD ）. The morphology and the composition cf the coating were analyzed by scanning eleetron microscopy （SEM） nnd energy dispersive apectroscopy （ EDS ）. In addition, the thermal stability ef the coating with amorphous phases was characterized by differential thermal analyzer （ DTA ）. Tile results showed that, usirtg mixed alloy powders with a molar ratio of Fe： P： C of 80：13：7, the coating containing certain amount of amorphous alloys was suceessathlly prepared through atmospheric plasma spray technique. In the coating, the main phases were determined to be Fe, FeP aad Fe2P. The crystallization of the coating started from about 461°. Tile coating was mechanically adhered to the substrate.

Biological oyster shell waste enhances polyphenylene sulfide composites and endows them with antibacterial properties

To date,there is no research that deals with biological waste as fillers in polyphenylene sulfide(PPS).In this study,oyster shells were recycled and treated to prepare thermally-treated oyster shells(TOS),which were used as PPS fillers to make new bio-based antibacterial composite *** effect of varying the content of TOS was studied by means of structure and performance ***/TOS composites were demonstrated to have an antibacterial effect on the growth of E coli and *** analysis showed that when the TOS content was≥30%and 40%,the composite materials had an apparent inhibition *** analysis showed that the antibacterial activity increased with the TOS *** transform infrared spectroscopy indicated the formation of hydrogen bonds between the molecular chains of TOS and PPS and the occurrence of a coordination *** 10%TOS,the composite tensile strength reached a maximum value of 72.5 MPa,which is 9.65%higher than that of pure *** trend of bending properties is the same as that of tensile properties,showing that the maximum property was reached for the composite with 10%*** the same time,the crystallinity and contact angle were the highest,and the permeability coefficient was the *** fatigue test results indicated that for the composite with 10%TOS,the tensile strength was 23%lower than static tensile strength,and the yield strength was 10%lower than the static yield *** results of the study showed that TOS not only could reduce the cost of PPS,but also could impart antibacterial properties and enhance the mechanical and,barrier properties,the thermostability,as well as the crystallinity.

Effect of tungsten carbide particles on microstructure and mechanical properties of Cu alloy composite bit matrix

Copper alloy composite bit matrix was prepared by pressureless vacuum infiltration,using at least one of the three kinds of tungsten carbide particles,for example,irregular cast tungsten carbide,monocrystalline tungsten carbide and sintered reduced tungsten carbide *** effects of powder particle morphology,particle size and mass fraction of tungsten carbide on the microstructure and mechanical properties of copper alloy composite were investigated by means of scanning electron microscopy,X-ray diffraction and abrasive wear test in *** results show that tungsten carbide morphology and particle size have obvious effects on the mechanical properties of copper alloy *** tungsten carbide partially dissolved in the copper alloy binding phase,and layers of Cu_(0.3)W_(0.5)Ni_(0.1)Mn_(0.1)C phase with a thickness of around 8–15μm were formed on the edge of the cast tungsten *** 45%irregular crushed fine cast tungsten carbide and 15%monocrystalline cast tungsten carbide were used as the skeleton,satisfactory comprehensive performance of the reinforced copper alloy composite bit matrix was obtained,with the bending strength,impact toughness and hardness reaching 1048 MPa,4.95 J/cm^(2) and 43.6 HRC,*** main wear mechanism was that the tungsten carbide particles firstly protruded from the friction surface after the copper alloy matrix was worn,and then peeled off from the matrix when further wear occurred.
