High spectral-efficiency, ultra-low MIMO SDM transmission over a field-deployed multi-core OAM fiber

Space-division multiplexing (SDM) systems based on few-mode multi-core fibers (FM-MCFs) utilize both spatial channels (fiber cores) and modes (optical modes per core) to maximize transmission *** laboratory FM-MCFs or field-deployed single-mode multi-core fibers (SM-MCFs),SDM transmissions over field-deployed FM-MCFs in outdoor settings have not been ***,concerns remain that environmental interference and cabling stress could worsen inter-core and intra-core modal crosstalk and impact the performance of SDM systems over *** this paper,we demonstrate successful bidirectional SDM transmission over a5-km,field-deployed seven ring-core fiber (7-RCF) with a cladding diameter of 178μ*** measurements show no significant differences in attenuation and mode coupling compared to pre-cabling conditions,confirming the fiber’s resilience to environmental disturbances and adaptability to cable *** the field-deployed7-RCF,bi-directional SDM transmission is implemented,achieving spectral efficiency (SE) of 2×201.6 bit/(s Hz)which sets a new record in field-deployed fiber cables that is a tenfold increase over previous ***,these results were achieved using a small-scale 4×4 multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO)scheme with a time-domain equalization (TDE) tap number not exceeding *** results demonstrate the substantial potential of using SDM techniques to significantly enhance SE and expand capacity in practical fiber-optic transmission applications.

MATD3-Based End-Edge Collaborative Resource Optimization for NOMA-Assisted Industrial Wireless Networks

Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) technology has recently been widely integrated into multi-access edge computing (MEC) to support task offloading in industrial wireless networks (IWNs) with limited radio resources. This paper minimizes the system overhead regarding task processing delay and energy consumption for the IWN with hybrid NOMA and orthogonal multiple access (OMA) schemes. Specifically, we formulate the system overhead minimization (SOM) problem by considering the limited computation and communication resources and NOMA efficiency. To solve the complex mixed-integer nonconvex problem, we combine the multi-agent twin delayed deep deterministic policy gradient (MATD3) and convex optimization, namely MATD3-CO, for iterative optimization. Specifically, we first decouple SOM into two sub-problems, i.e., joint sub-channel allocation and task offloading sub-problem, and computation resource allocation sub-problem. Then, we propose MATD3 to optimize the sub-channel allocation and task offloading ratio, and employ the convex optimization to allocate the computation resource with a closed-form expression derived by the Karush-Kuhn-Tucker (KKT) conditions. The solution is obtained by iteratively solving these two sub-problems. The experimental results indicate that the MATD3-CO scheme, when compared to the benchmark schemes, significantly decreases system overhead with respect to both delay and energy consumption.

Utilizing Sub-topic Units for Patent Prior-Art Search

One of the defining challenges in patent prior-art search is the problem of representing a long, technical document as a query. Previously work on this problem has concentrated on single query representations of the patent application. In the following paper, we describe an approach which uses multiple query representations generated from semantically coherent passages extracted from patent documents. We validate our technique in an experiment using the CLEF-IP 2011 patent search collection. Our system achieves statistically significant improvements over various state-of-art query generation techniques.

Controllability of heterogeneous networked sampled-data systems

This study investigates the controllability of a general heterogeneous networked sampled-data system(HNSS) consisting of nonidentical node systems, where the inner coupling between any pair of nodes can be described by a unique *** signals on control and transmission channels are sampled and held by zero-order holders, and the control sampling period of each node can be different. Necessary and sufficient controllability conditions are developed for the general HNSS, using the Smith normal form and matrix equations, respectively. The HNSS in specific topology or dynamic settings is discussed subsequently with easier-to-verify conditions derived. These heterogeneous factors have been determined to independently or jointly affect the controllability of networked sampled-data systems. Notably, heterogeneous sampling periods have the potential to enhance the overall controllability, but not for systems with some special dynamics. When the node dynamics are heterogeneous,the overall system can be controllable even if it is topologically uncontrollable. In addition, in several typical heterogeneous sampled-data multi-agent systems, pathological sampling of single-node systems will necessarily cause overall uncontrollability.

An intelligent mosquito net employing deep learning has been one of the hotspots in the field of Internet of Things as it can reduce significantly the spread of pathogens carried by mosquitoes,and help people live well in mosquito-infested *** this study,we propose an intelligent mosquito net that can produce and transmit data through the Internet of Medical *** our method,decision-making is controlled by a deep learning model,and the proposed method uses infrared sensors and an array of pressure sensors to collect *** the ZigBee protocol is used to transmit the pressure map which is formed by pressure sensors with the deep learning perception model,determining automatically the intention of the user to open or close the mosquito *** used optical flow to extract pressure map features,and they were fed to a 3-dimensional convolutional neural network(3D-CNN)classification model *** achieved the expected results using a nested cross-validation method to evaluate our *** learning has better adaptability than the traditional methods and also has better anti-interference by the different bodies of *** research has the potential to be used in intelligent medical protection and large-scale sensor array perception of the environment.

Trustworthy service composition is an extremely important task when service composition becomes infeasible or even fails in an environment which is open,autonomic,uncertain and *** paper presents a trustworthy service composition method based on an improved Cross generation elitist selection,Heterogeneous recombination,Catacly-smic mutation(CHC) Trustworthy Service Composition Method(CHC-TSCM) genetic *** firstly obtains the total trust degree of the individual service using a trust degree measurement and evaluation model proposed in previous *** combination and computation then are performed according to the structural relation of the composite ***,the optimal trustworthy service composition is acquired by the improved CHC genetic *** results show that CHC-TSCM can effectively solve the trustworthy service composition *** with GODSS and TOCSS,this new method has several advantages:1) a higher service composition successrate;2) a smaller decline trend of the service composition success-rate,and 3) enhanced stability.

Effect of Submillimeter Variation in Plunge Depth on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of FSLW 2A12 Aluminum Alloy Joints

Friction stir lap welding was conducted on 2 mm + 2 mm sheets of aluminum alloy 2 A12-T4. The plunge depth(PLD) was designed as 2.45–2.58 mm, which was varied in submillimeters as 2.45, 2.50, 2.53, 2.55, and 2.58 mm, and the axial force was recorded in the welding process. The results show that the PLD fluctuation in submillimeters causes significant variation in the axial force and affects the voids(i.e., Void I and Void II), hook, and effective sheet thickness(EST), among which Void I is the main factor that affects the EST. The fracture load–PLD function in the tensile shear test of the joints follows the rule of the EST–PLD function. An optimized PLD is approximately 2.55 mm, at which the EST reaches 1.71 mm, corresponding to a peak fracture load of 11.03 kN. Thus, a PLD of 2.55 mm is suggested with a tolerance of 0.02 mm, corresponding to a fracture load of 9.6–11.0 kN, i.e., within a fluctuation of 12%.

Computational analysis of linear friction welding process and micromechanical modeling of deformation behavior for medium carbon steel

Finite element simulation of linear friction welding(LFW) medium carbon steel was carried out using the ABAQUS software. A two-dimensional(2D) coupled thermo-mechanical model was established. First, the temperature fields of medium carbon steel during LFW process were investigated. And then, the Mises stress and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd principal stresses fields' evolution of the steel during LFW process were studied. The deformation behavior of LFW carbon steel was analyzed by using micromechanics model based on ABAQUS with Python code. The Lode parameter was expressed using the Mohr stress circle and it was investigated in detail.

Fusing Spatio-Temporal Contexts into DeepFM for Taxi Pick-Up Area Recommendation

Short-term GPS data based taxi pick-up area recommendation can improve the efficiency and reduce the *** how to alleviate sparsity and further enhance accuracy is still *** at these issues,we propose to fuse spatio-temporal contexts into deep factorization machine(STC_DeepFM)offline for pick-up area recommendation,and within the area to recommend pick-up points online using factorization machine(FM).Firstly,we divide the urban area into several grids with equal ***-temporal contexts are destilled from pick-up points or points-of-interest(POIs)belonged to the preceding ***,the contexts are integrated into deep factorization machine(DeepFM)to mine high-order interaction relationships from *** a novel algorithm named STC_DeepFM is presented for offline pick-up area ***,we devise the architecture of offline-to-online(O2O)recommendation respectively based on DeepFM and FM model in order to tradeoff the accuracy and *** experiments are designed on the DiDi dataset to evaluate step by step the performance of spatio-temporal contexts,different recommendation models,and the O2O *** results show that the proposed STC_DeepFM algorithm exceeds several state-of-the-art methods,and the O2O architecture achieves excellent real-time performance.

Deformation behaviors of four-layered U-shaped metallic bellows in hydroforming

Because of the complex constraint effects among layers in multi-layered metallic bellows hydroforming,the stress concentration and defects such as wrinkling and fracture may easily *** is a key to reveal the deformation behaviors in order to obtain a sound *** on the ABAQUS platform,a 3 D-FE model of the four-layered U-shaped metallic bellow hydroforming process is established and validated by *** stress and strain distributions,wall thickness variations and bellow profiles of each layer in the whole process,including bulging,folding and springback stages,are *** deformation behaviors of bellows under different forming conditions are *** is found that the wall thinning degrees of different layer vary after hydroforming,and is the largest for the inner layer and smallest for the outer *** folding stage,the wall thinning degree of the crown point increases lineally,and the difference among layers increases as the process *** displacements of the crown point decrease from the inner layer to the outer *** springback,the U-shaped cross section changes to a tongue shape,the change of convolution pitch is much larger than the change of convolution height,and the springback values of the inner layer are smaller than the outer *** increase in the internal pressure and die spacing cause the maximum wall thinning degree and springback *** changing of process parameters,bellows with deep convolution are easily encountered wall thinning during hydroforming and convolution distortion after *** research is helpful for precision forming of multi-layered bellows.
