Robust interface and excellent as-built mechanical properties of Ti–6Al–4V fabricated through laser-aided additive manufacturing with powder and wire

The feasibility of manufacturing Ti-6Al-4V samples through a combination of laser-aided additive manufacturing with powder(LAAM_(p))and wire(LAAM_(w))was explored.A process study was first conducted to successfully circumvent defects in Ti-6Al-4V deposits for LAAM_(p) and LAAM_(w),*** the optimized process parameters,robust interfaces were achieved between powder/wire deposits and the forged substrate,as well as between powder and wire *** characterization results revealed the epitaxial prior β grains in the deposited Ti-6Al-4V,wherein the powder deposit was dominated by a finerα′microstructure and the wire deposit was characterized by lamellar α *** mechanisms of microstructure formation and correlation with mechanical behavior were analyzed and *** mechanical properties of the interfacial samples can meet the requirements of the relevant Aerospace Material Specifications(AMS 6932)even without post heat *** fracture occurred within the interfacial area,further suggesting the robust *** findings of this study highlighted the feasibility of combining LAAM_(p) and LAAM_(w) in the direct manufacturing of Ti-6Al-4V parts in accordance with the required dimensional resolution and deposition rate,together with sound strength and ductility balance in the as-built condition.

Multi-model ensemble learning for battery state-of-health estimation:Recent advances and perspectives

The burgeoning market for lithium-ion batteries has stimulated a growing need for more reliable battery performance monitoring. Accurate state-of-health(SOH) estimation is critical for ensuring battery operational performance. Despite numerous data-driven methods reported in existing research for battery SOH estimation, these methods often exhibit inconsistent performance across different application scenarios. To address this issue and overcome the performance limitations of individual data-driven models,integrating multiple models for SOH estimation has received considerable attention. Ensemble learning(EL) typically leverages the strengths of multiple base models to achieve more robust and accurate outputs. However, the lack of a clear review of current research hinders the further development of ensemble methods in SOH estimation. Therefore, this paper comprehensively reviews multi-model ensemble learning methods for battery SOH estimation. First, existing ensemble methods are systematically categorized into 6 classes based on their combination strategies. Different realizations and underlying connections are meticulously analyzed for each category of EL methods, highlighting distinctions, innovations, and typical applications. Subsequently, these ensemble methods are comprehensively compared in terms of base models, combination strategies, and publication trends. Evaluations across 6 dimensions underscore the outstanding performance of stacking-based ensemble methods. Following this, these ensemble methods are further inspected from the perspectives of weighted ensemble and diversity, aiming to inspire potential approaches for enhancing ensemble performance. Moreover, addressing challenges such as base model selection, measuring model robustness and uncertainty, and interpretability of ensemble models in practical applications is emphasized. Internal Defects Detection Method of the Railway Track Based on Generalization Features Cluster Under Ultrasonic Images

There may be several internal defects in railway track work that have different shapes and distribution rules,and these defects affect the safety of high-speed *** reliable detection models and methods for these internal defects remains a challenging *** address this challenge,in this study,an intelligent detection method based on a generalization feature cluster is proposed for internal defects of railway ***,the defects are classified and counted according to their shape and location ***,generalized features of the internal defects are extracted and formulated based on the maximum difference between different types of defects and the maximum tolerance among same defects’***,the extracted generalized features are expressed by function constraints,and formulated as generalization feature clusters to classify and identify internal defects in the railway ***,to improve the detection reliability and speed,a reduced-dimension method of the generalization feature clusters is presented in this *** on this reduced-dimension feature and strongly constrained generalized features,the K-means clustering algorithm is developed for defect clustering,and good clustering results are *** the defects in the rail head region,the clustering accuracy is over 95%,and the Davies-Bouldin index(DBI)index is negligible,which indicates the validation of the proposed generalization features with strong *** results prove that the accuracy of the proposed method based on generalization feature clusters is up to 97.55%,and the average detection time is 0.12 s/frame,which indicates that it performs well in adaptability,high accuracy,and detection speed under complex working *** proposed algorithm can effectively detect internal defects in railway tracks using an established generalization feature cluster model.

A novel integrated microfluidic chip for on-demand electrostatic droplet charging and sorting

On-demand droplet sorting is extensively applied for the efficient manipulation and genome-wide analysis of individual ***,state-of-the-art microfluidic chips for droplet sorting still suffer from low sorting speeds,sample loss,and labor-intensive preparation ***,we demonstrate the development of a novel microfluidic chip that integrates droplet generation,on-demand electrostatic droplet charging,and high-throughput *** charging electrode is a copper wire buried above the nozzle of the microchannel,and the deflecting electrode is the phosphate buffered saline in the microchannel,which greatly simplifies the structure and fabrication process of the ***,this chip is capable of high-frequency droplet generation and sorting,with a frequency of 11.757 kHz in the drop *** chip completes the selective charging process via electrostatic induction during droplet ***-demand charged microdroplets can arbitrarilymove to specific exit channels in a three-dimensional(3D)-deflected electric field,which can be controlled according to user requirements,and the flux of droplet deflection is thereby significantly ***,a lossless modification strategy is presented to improve the accuracy of droplet deflection or harvest rate from 97.49% to 99.38% by monitoring the frequency of droplet generation in real time and feeding it back to the charging *** chip has great potential for quantitative processing and analysis of single cells for elucidating cell-to-cell variations.

Selective Laser Melting of 30CrMnSiA Steel: Laser Energy Density Dependence of Microstructural and Mechanical Properties

Three-dimensional parts of the 30 CrMnSiA steel were successfully fabricated using selective laser melting（SLM）. The microstructures and mechanical properties of the SLM-processed 30 CrMnSiA samples were investigated by scanning electron microscope and transmission electron microscopy. The results indicate that the microstructures of the 30 CrMnSiA samples consist mainly of lath martensite and acicular martensite. The value of the surface roughness decreases with increasing laser energy density（LED） before it reaches a minimum and then increases with further increasing LED. The relative density, microhardness and ultimate tensile strength of the SLM-processed samples initially increase and then decrease with increasing LED. By taking the relative density, surface roughness, microhardness and ultimate tensile strength into account, the optimized LED should be in the range of 46.15–51.28 J mm^（-3） for the SLM-processed30 CrMnSiA alloys. In addition, the differences in the microstructures and mechanical properties between the conventionally wrought 30 CrMnSiA sample and SLM-processed 30 CrMnSiA samples were also studied.

In this paper,a complete set of elastic,piezoelectric,and dielectric constants of high-quality tetragonal poled0.92Pb（Zn1/3Nb2/3）O3-0.08PbTiO3 single crystal grown by the modified flux method is determined using high-resolution Brillouin scattering.A comparison is made between the results obtained by a hybrid method combining ultrasonic and resonant techniques and the results obtained by the Brillouin *** elastic,piezoelectric,and dielectric constants obtained by the two methods are *** Brillouin spectrum consists of one longitudinal and two transverse acoustic phonon modes,and the variations of the Brillouin shifts,the full widths at half maximum,and the scattering intensities of these modes with scattering angle 9 are *** particular,the transverse acoustic phonon mode at the lowfrequency becomes markedly soft from 28.2 GHz to 18.4 GHz and broadens gradually with the increase of θ,while its intensity decreases gradually as compared with that of the original *** possible origins of the results are discussed.

Dual-mode predictive control of a rotor suspension system

Rotor active magnetic bearing(rotor-AMB) systems are frequently used to alleviate vibrations for various applications such as in national defense, manufacturing industries, IC production, and aerospace engineering. One obstacle to improve machining efficiency and quality is the open-loop instability of rotorAMB systems during the machining process. We built a closed-loop processing platform using a spindle rotor installed with AMBs and thereby developed a rotor-AMB suspension system embedded with a dual-mode predictive controller(DMPC). The performance of the system is thus substantially improved. In the proposed DMPC, both model-based prediction and receding horizon optimization are utilized to guarantee the closedloop stability of the rotor-AMB suspension systems with input constraints. Finally, the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed method are examined through substantial levitation experiments on a machining platform with installed AMBs.

High-Order Fully Actuated System Models for Strict-Feedback Systems With Increasing Dimensions

This paper mainly addresses control problems of strict-feedback systems(SFSs) with increasing dimensions. Compared with the commonly-considered SFSs where the subsystems have the same dimension, we aim to handle more complex cases,i.e., the subsystems in the considered SFSs are assumed to have increasing dimensions. By transforming the systems into highorder fully-actuated system(HOFAS) models, the stabilizing controllers can be directly given. Besides first-order SFSs, secondorder and high-order SFSs are also considered.
