Estimation of the sample position is essential for working process monitoring and management in the life science automation lab*** low-energy(BLE)beacons have the advantages of low price,small size and low energy consumption,which make them a promising solution for sample position estimation in the automated *** fingerprinting models have been proposed to achieve indoor localization with the received signal strength(RSS)***,most of the research depends on intensive beacon *** estimation,which depends entirely on one beacon,is more suitable for sample position estimation in large automated *** complexity of the life science automation laboratory environment brings challenges to the traditional path loss model(PLM),which is a widely used radio wave propagation model-based proximity estimation *** this paper,BLE sensing devices for sample position estimation are *** BLE beacon-based proximity estimation is discussed in the framework of machine learning,in which the support vector regression(SVR)is utilized to model the nonlinear relationship between the RSS data and distance,and the Kalman filter is utilized to decrease the RSS data *** experimental results over different environments indicate that the SVR outperforms the PLM significantly,and provides 1 m absolute errors for more than 95%of the testing *** Kalman filter brings benefits to stable distance *** from proximity-based sample position estimation,the proposed framework turned out to be effective in position estimation between parallel workbenches and position estimation on an automated workstation.

An intensity-modulated, fiber Bragg grating （FBG） sensor system based on radio-frequency （RF） signal measurement is presented. The RF signal is generated at a photodetector by two modulated optical signals reflected from the sensing FBG and a reference one. Bragg wavelength shift of the sensing FBG changes intensity of the RF signal by changing phase difference between the two optical signals, with temperature effect being compensated automatically by the reference FBG, Strain measurement with a maximum sensitivity of -0.34 μV/με has been achieved.

To investigate the influence of stress alone on the stray field signals of ferromagnetic materials,the static tensile tests of 0.45%C steel and 45CrNiMoVA steel flat-shaped specimens were performed on an MTS810 hydraulic testing machine. Hp（y） signals,the normal component of spontaneous stray field,were measured during the testing process by an EMS-2003 metal magnetic memory diagnostic apparatus cooperated with a non-magnetic electric control displacement instrument. Fracture and microstructure were observed by a scanning electronic microscope and a transmission electron microscope,respectively. The relationships between axial applied stress or residual stress measured by X-ray diffraction method and Hp（y） were analyzed. The results indicate that some regular pattern of the magnetic curve is displayed only between applied stress and stray field signals. The magnetic ordering process stops due to dislocation pinning magnetic domain structure,and Hp（y） value unvaried nearly with applied load increasing in the plastic deformation stage.

As the appearance of local dimming technique, the current existing test methods are not suitable for testing the power consumption of the LCD TVs using the local dimming technique any longer. A test method appropriate to LED backlight LCD TVs using the local dimming technique is proposed in this paper, and then the test software is developed. The results demonstrate that the test software developed can show the real average power consumption of the LCD using local dimming technique, and by normalization the power consumption become comparable for not only local dimming LCD TVs but global dimming LCD TVs. Using the software developed in this paper, the ratio of power saving is clear when an LCD TV using the local dimming technique compared with one without local dimming technique.

Nanocarriers have been developed to deliver DNA probes into cells for imaging analysis and improving their nuclease ***,we found obvious lowered sensitivity and even false-negative results in the traditional DNA detachment-dependent fluorescent lighting ***,we developed a detachment-independent fluorescent lighting mechanism integrated with cationic dipeptide nanoparticles(CDNs).CDNs displayed little quenching effect on fluorophores labeled on probes and improved the nuclease resistance of *** contrast to the traditional beacon,the fluorescence lighting was significantly accelerated without the need of desorption of the recognition products from the nanosurface,avoiding false-negative results from non-specific conformational *** work will open up new thoughts to improve the sensing performance of DNA probes in cell imaging,such as speed and sensitivity.

As improved and accumulated satellite records become available,it is significant to provide up-to-date perspectives on the spatiotemporal signatures of tropospheric nitrogen dioxide(NO2)over China,the knowledge of which is helpful for air pollution *** this study,the Ozone Monitoring instrument NO2 dataset for the last 10 years(2005–14)was retrieved to examine multiple aspects of NO2 columns,including distributions,trends,and seasonal *** pattern of average NO2suggests five hotspots with column density higher than 20×1015 molec cm-2:Jing-Jin-Tang;combined southern Hebei and northern Henan;Jinan;the Yangtze River Delta;and the Pearl River ***,substantial and widespread NO2 growths are distributed over the North China *** contrast,downward trends in NO2 amounts prevail in the megacities of Beijing,Shanghai,and Guangzhou,despite generally high loading *** for the Pearl River Delta,there appears to be temporally consistent behaviors across all regions considered,where NO2 had an abrupt decline during 2008 to 2009,then a drastic increase up to 2013,before beginning to reduce again after ***,the NO2 over the Pearl River Delta is not coevolving with the rest,having experienced a moderate rise from 2005 to 2007,followed by a reduction thereafter.A marked seasonality is apparent,with a maximum in winter and a minimum in summer,regardless of the *** annual amplitude of NO2 is less pronounced over the Pearl River Delta,whereas the largest range is observed over the combined Southern Hebei and Northern Henan region,induced by enhanced NO2emission in wintertime due to intense domestic heating.

Iron and copper bimetallic system(catalyzed Fe-Cu process)is a promising technology for alkaline nitrobenzene-containing wastewater ***,little is currently known about the changes of treatment efficiency with time *** research investigated the long-term performance of the catalyzed Fe-Cu process to reduce nitrobenzene(NB)in alkaline *** addition,the changes of the metal surfaces morphologies and matters before and after the reaction were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy(SEM)in conjunction with energy-dispersion spectroscopy(EDS)and X-ray diffraction spectros-copy(XRD).The results showed that the surface properties of copper almost remained unchanged after weeks of operation,which spelled its strong chemical stability and resistance to ***,the results indicated that there were two reasons for the treatment efficiency decreasing with *** was the gradual iron element consumption due to *** other was iron reactivity weakened due to the precipitates accumulation on the surfaces that were mainly Fe_(3)O_(4) and FeCO.
