Effect of lamellarization on the microstructure and mechanical properties of marine 10Ni5CrMoV steel

multistage heat treatment involving quenching(Q),lamellarizing(L),and tempering(T)is applied to marine 10Ni5CrMoV *** microstructure and mechanical properties were studied by multiscale characterizations,and the kinetics of reverse austenite transformation,strain hardening behavior,and toughening mechanism were further *** lamellarized specimens possess low yield strength but high toughness,especially cryogenic *** leads to the development of film-like reversed austenite at the martensite block and lath boundaries,refining the martensite structure and lowering the equivalent grain *** analysis of austenite reversion based on the JMAK model shows that the isothermal transformation is dominated by the growth of reversed austenite,and the maximum transformation of reversed austenite is reached at the peak temperature(750℃).The strain hardening behavior based on the modified Crussard-Jaoul analysis indicates that the reversed austenite obtained from lamellarization reduces the proportion of martensite,significantly hindering crack propagation via martensitic transformation during the *** a consequence,the QLT specimens exhibit high machinability and low yield *** with the QT specimen,the ductile-brittle transition temperature of the QLT specimens decreases from-116 to-130℃due to the low equivalent grain size and reversed austenite,which increases the cleavage force required for crack propagation and absorbs the energy of external load,*** work provides an idea to improve the cryogenic toughness of marine 10Ni5CrMoV steel and lays a theoretical foundation for its industrial application and comprehensive performance improvement.

Silicon saturation coefficient changes in hydrogarnets during the Bayer process with lime addition

The relationship between the silicon saturation coefficient of hydrogarnets and Bayer reaction parameters was studied. The peak position, crystal plane spacing, and cell edge length of typical hydrogarnet patterns were calculated to find the key factors influencing the relationship. The results showed that the crystal face(420) is the optimal garnet growth direction during hydration and crystal growth along the faces(521) and(611) were not affected significantly by the varying experimental conditions. The reaction temperature significantly influenced the silicon saturation coefficient of hydrogarnets. The silicon saturation coefficient of hydrogarnets increased from 0.2 to about 1.0 in the temperature range of 30–270 °C and a rapid expansion process was observed in the temperature range of 120–150 °C. Moreover, the reaction time, alumina concentration, and C/S were shown to be less important factors. Averaging the results obtained by the 3 methods was shown suitable for calculating the SiO2 saturation coefficient of hydrogarnets. The calculated results of the Al2O3 and SiO2 contents matched the actual ones. However, the actual SiO2 content was about10 % less than the calculated one for SiO2 saturation coefficients higher than 1.

Decomposition process of bastnaesite concentrate in NaOH-CaO-H2O system

A novel process of calcification-leaching for bastnaesite concentrate(REFCO3) was proposed. The prior calcification was carried out in the system of NaOH-CaO-H2O and the lgC-pH pattern for Ce-F-Ca-C-H2O system was drawn. The thermodynamics result indicates that decomposition for bastnaesite requires certain alkaline condition, but excessive alkalinity also causes decomposition of CaF2. XRD and SEM-EDS analyses on the calcification-leaching process reveal that bastnaesite first decomposes into RE(OH)3 and CaF2. Then, by HCl leaching rare earths were extracted,while CaF2 was left in the leaching residue. In addition, effects of temperature, time, NaOH and CaO on the calcification were investigated. The results show that the leaching rate of rare earths(REs)reaches 72.5 wt%, at the same time 99.2 wt% of F is left in leaching residue with 20 wt% NaOH and 38 wt% CaO at 493 K for 180 min.

Preparation of La2O3 by ion-exchange membrane electrolysis of LaCl3 aqueous solution

The ion-exchange membrane electrolysis technology was applied inventively in the preparation of lanthanum hydroxide,after calcination,lanthanum oxide was obtained *** effect of the concentration of lanthanum chlo ride solution on electrolytic product was mainly *** phase composition,micro morphology,particle size and chlorine content of the product were characterized,*** the conditions of this work,the product that forms by electrolysis of LaCl3 aqueous solution directly is La(OH)*** the initial concentration of LaCl3 changes from 0.1 to 0.5 mol/L,the current efficiency of La(OH)3 increases from 60%to 85%,the product roasted at 800℃for 1.5 h is La2O3,whose median particle size(D50)is 10-20μm,the mass fraction of chloride ion is less than 0.02 wt%.Additio nally,the prepared La2O3 particles are porous and non-spherical particle s,which are composed of small crystals with sheet structure.

Decomposition of the mixed rare earth concentrate by microwave-assisted method

A novel process was proposed to strengthen the decomposition of the mixed rare earth concentrate by utilizing the microwave *** information on the mechanisms by which microwave heating improved the leaching behavior of rare earth elements（REEs）,and an interpretation of the interrelationship between mineralogy,decomposition process,and leaching process were provided in this *** influences of the temperature,time of microwave heating and contents of NaO H（mass ratio of NaO H to mixed rare earth concentrate）on the decomposition of mixed rare earth concentrate were *** results revealed that the temperature was the main factor affecting the decomposition *** recovery of REEs by hydrochloric acid leaching reached 93.28% under the microwave heating conditions：140 oC,30 min and 35.35% NaO *** BET specific surface area and SEM analysis indicated that the particles of mixed rare earth concentrate were non-hole,while the particles presented a porous structure after heating the concentrate by microwave *** the microwave treated sample after water leaching,the BET specific surface area was 11.04 m^2/g,which was higher than the corresponding values（6.94 m^2/g）for the mixed rare earth *** result could be attributed to the phase changes of bastnaesite and monazite,and a number of cracks induced by thermal *** increase of BET specific surface area resulted in an increase of the recovery of REEs by promoting interaction within the system of acid leaching.

Phase transition of bastnaesite concentrate in calcification process

The phase transformation in calcification process was investigated by X-ray diffraction （XRD） and differential scanning calorimeter （DSC）, and the effect of calcification on the leaching rate of rare earth was analyzed. The results show that bastnaesite transforms into rare earth hydrate at the cal- cification temperature range of 225-300 ℃. However, this transition is verified to be an efficient reaction for the acti- vating bastnaesite when the temperature is higher than 200 ℃. The leaching rate of rare earth increases to 89.17 % for activating bastnaesite from 36.27 % for the bastnaesite, and it is the highest with calcification temperature of 250 ℃, which is consistent with the result of DSC analysis. The transition of rare earth oxyfluoride into RE（OH）3 is acceler- ated by the addition of NaOH according to the experiments of different calcification systems.

E-pH diagram of ZnS-H_2O system during high pressure leaching of zinc sulfide

The values of GΘ,EΘ or pH from 110 to 160℃ were calculated and the relevant potential expressions were obtained.E-pH diagrams of ZnS-H2O system at oxygen partial pressure of 0.8 MPa,ionic activity of 1.0 and different temperatures were drawn through thermodynamical *** the temperature increasing,the stable regions of S and Zn(Ⅱ) in the E-pH diagrams become gradually larger,but the amplification decreases over 150℃.The impacts of leaching parameters,such as temperature,liquid to solid ratio,initial acidic concentration,leaching time,oxygen partial pressure and stirring speed on the leaching rate of Zn(Ⅱ) and conversion rate of S in the single factor of high pressure leaching experiment of ZnS in autoclave,were *** leaching residue was examined by X-ray fluorescence(XRF) chemical composition identification and X-ray diffraction(XRD) phase identification,and the content of the leaching solution was tested by inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry(ICP).The experimental results indicate that the leaching rate of zinc increases from 60.05% to 97.85% and the conversion rate of sulfur increases from 38.90% to 80.92% with the temperature increasing from 110℃ to 150℃,5:1 of liquid-to-solid ratio,150 g/L of initial acidic concentration,120 min of leaching time,0.8 MPa of oxygen partial pressure,and 480 r/min of stirring speed,which tend to be stable over 150℃.The experimental results correspond with theoretical calculation.

Study on leaching rare earths from bastnaesite treated by calcification transition

Extracting rare earths from bastnaesite concentrate treated by calcification transition was studied through the single factor test and XRD patterns of bastnaesite after calcification and slags after leaching in HCl solution. And the effects of the main calcified parameters such as temperature, liquid/solid and calcified time on transition performance of bastnaesite were investigated. It was found that under the optimal conditions of calcification temperature of 250 oC, liquid/solid of 20 mL/g, calcification time of 180 min, the highest leaching rate of rare earth were obtained, with the leaching ratio of rare earths 83.70% and Ce 77.01%, La 90.55%, Nd 92.03%, respectively; loss rates of fluorine with different calcification conditions were always less than 1% and XRD patterns of calcification slags and leaching slags showed that fluorine existed in the form of CaF2.

Extraction of vanadium from vanadium slag by high pressure oxidative acid leaching

To extract vanadium in an environment friendly manner, this study focuses on the process of leaching vanadium from vanadium slag by high pressure oxidative acid leaching. Characterizations of the raw slag, mineralogy transformation, and the form of leach residues were made by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. The result shows that the vana-dium slag is composed of major phases of fayalite, titanomagnetite, and spinel. During the high pressure oxidative acid leaching process, the fayalite and spinel phases are gradually decomposed by sulfuric acid, causing the release of vanadium and iron in the solution. Meanwhile, unreacted silicon and titanium are enriched in the leach residues. With the initial concentration of sulfuric acid at 250 g·L^-1, a leaching tem-perature of 140℃, a leaching time of 50 min, a liquid-solid ratio of 10：1 mL·g^-1, and oxygen pressure at 0.2 MPa, the leaching rate of vana-dium reaches 97.69%.

Physical simulation of bubble refinement in bottom blowing process with mechanical agitation
