Response of growth rate and antioxidative system of ten Bacillus strains to acid stresses was *** acid treatment significantly decreased the growth rate of the *** stresses increased the GPX activity and GSSG content of the tested *** changes occurred in ROS and antioxidative system(SOD,CAT,GR,MDA and GSH).environmental changes including soil acidification exert obvi-ous stresses on soil ecosystems and influence soil *** this study,ten microbial strains were incubated under different acid treatments to investigate responses of microbial growth and antioxidative system to acid *** the strains belong to Bacillus genus,but exhibit distinct ecological *** observed that these microbial strains had obviously different pH tolerance threshold,in spite of the close phylogenetic classification among *** stresses exerted significant effects on microbial antiox-idative system,including superoxide dismutase(SOD),cata-lase(CAT)and glutathione transferring enzymes(GPX and GR)and reactants(GSH and GSSH),but the effects were strain ***,we found acid stress effects on total variances of the investigated microbial antioxidative system along the first two principal components(PCs).Activities of CAT and SOD contributed substantially to PC1 that reflected obvious acid effects on NC7 and ZC4,and closely related to intracellular malondialdehyde *** GSSG activities and GSH/GSSG contributed greatly to PC2 that unveiled acid stress effects on most of the microbial *** results highlight substantially heterogeneous responses of microbial strains to acid stress and support that phylogenetic closeness does not imply functional similarity of soil microorganisms under environmental changes.

The ozone(O_(3))pollution in China drew lots of attention in recent years,and the Sichuan Basin(SCB)was one of the regions confronting worsening O_(3)pollution *** previous studies have shown that regional transport is an important contributor to O_(3)***,very few features of the O_(3)profile during transport have been reported,especially in the border regions between different administrative *** this study,we conducted tethered balloon soundings in SCB during the summer of 2020 and captured a nocturnal O_(3)transport event during the ***,the O_(3)transport occurred in the bottom of the residual layer,between 200 and 500 m above ground ***,the transport pathway was directed from southeast to northwest based on the analysis of the wind field and air mass *** effect of transport in the residual layer on the surface O_(3)concentration was related to the spatial distribution of O_(3).For cities with high O_(3)concentrations in the upwind region,the transport process would bring clean air masses and abate *** downwind lightly polluted cities,the transport process would slow down the decreasing or even increase the surface O_(3)concentration during the *** provided observational facts on the profile features of a transboundary O_(3)transport event between two provincial administrative divisions,which implicated the importance of joint prevention and control ***,the sounding parameters were limited and the quantitative analysis was preliminary,more integrated,and thorough studies of this topic were called for in the future.

ACYL-CoA-BINDING PROTEINs(ACBPs)play crucial regulatory roles during plant response to hypoxia,but their molecular mechanisms remain poorly *** study reveals that ACBP4 serves as a positive regulator of the plant hypoxia response by interacting with WRKY70,influencing its nucleocytoplasmic shuttling in Arabidopsis ***,we demonstrate the direct binding of WRKY70 to the ACBP4 promoter,resulting in its upregulation and suggesting a positive feedback ***,we pinpointed a phosphorylation site at Ser638 of ACBP4,which enhances submergence tolerance,potentially by facilitating WRKY70's nuclear ***,a natural variation in this phosphorylation site of ACBP4 allowed *** to adapt to humid conditions during its historical demographic *** further observed that both phosphorylated ACBP4 and oleoyl-Co A can impede the interaction between ACBP4 and WRKY70,thus promoting WRKY70's nuclear ***,we found that the overexpression of orthologous Bna ***4and Bna ***70 in Brassica napus increases submergence tolerance,indicating their functional similarity across *** summary,our research not only sheds light on the functional significance of the ACBP4 gene in hypoxia response,but also underscores its potential utility in breeding flooding-tolerant oilseed rape varieties.

Microplastics(MPs)become ubiquitous in soil and are an environmental and public health concern ***,the status of MPs in natural and farmland soils in remote areas remains poorly *** this study,we investigated the characteristics of MPs in natural and farmland soils along two transects in the Qilian Mountains of the northern Tibetan *** average abundance of MPs in natural and farmland soils was 29,778 and 56,123 items kg^(-1),respectively,with a detection size range of 10-1000μ*** in the size range of 10-100μm accounted for 84.1%of particles *** the 21 polymers detected,polyethylene dominated in both farmland and natural *** shape of MPs was dominated by fragments(95.8%),followed by fibers(3.8%)and beads(0.4%).The abundance of MPs was positively correlated with increasing altitude in natural *** was no significant correlation between the abundance of MPs and soil physicochemical properties due to the narrow range of values of soil physicochemical *** the growing concern regarding MPs pollution,research on the status of MPs in high altitude and remote areas is critical to understanding their global cycle.

Hexavalent chromium[Cr(Ⅵ)]causes serious harm to the environment due to its high toxicity,solubility,and ***(Fh)are the main adsorbent and trapping agent of Cr(Ⅵ)in soils and aquifers,and they usually coexist with silicate(Si),forming Si-containing ferrihydrite(Si-Fh)***,the mechanism of Cr(Ⅵ)retention by Si-Fh mixtures is poorly *** this study,the behaviors and mechanisms of Cr(Ⅵ)adsorption onto Si-Fh with different Si/Fe molar ratios was *** electron microscope,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,X-ray diffraction,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,and other techniques were used to characterize Si-Fh and Cr(Ⅵ)-loading of *** results show that specific surface area of Si-Fh increases gradually with increasing Si/Fe ratios,but Cr(Ⅵ)adsorption on Si-Fh decreases with increasing Si/Fe *** is because with an increase in Si/Fe molar ratio,the point of zero charge of Si-Fh gradually decreases and electrostatic repulsion between Si-Fh and Cr(Ⅵ)***,the complexation of Cr(Ⅵ)is enhanced due to the increase in adsorbed hydroxyl(A-OH-)on Si-Fh with increasing Si/Fe molar ratio,which partly counteracts the effect of the electrostatic ***,the increase in the electrostatic repulsion has a greater impact on adsorption than the additional complexation with *** functional theory calculation further supports this observation,showing the increases in electron variation of bonding atoms and reaction energies of inner spherical complexes with the increase in Si/Fe ratio.

Anaerobic digestion(AD)of organic fraction of municipal solid waste(OFMSW)is prone to system breakdown under high organic loading rates(OLRs)condition,which subsequently reduces the efficiency of digestion process and results in substantial economic *** this perspective paper,the substances metabolisms,electrons flow,as well as microbial interaction mechanisms within AD process are comprehensively discussed,and the underlying bottleneck that causes inefficient methane production is identified,which is“electrons surplus”.Systems encountering severe electron surplus are at risk of process failure,making it crucial to proactively prevent this phenomenon through appropriate *** this basis,the present perspective proposes three potential electronic regulation strategies to prevent electrons surplus,namely,electron shunt,accelerating electron transfer and regulating methanogenic metabolism pathway,and presents specific methodologies for each ***,the potential solutions to challenges that may occur during the electronic regulation process are also presented in this *** perspective aims to provide innovative approaches to achieve the efficient and stable operation of OFMSW anaerobic digestion,especially under high OLRs condition.
