This study examines the bipartite quasi-synchronization(B-Q synchronization)issue of coupled networks with general cooperative-competitive topology and the event-triggered communications between nodes to curb the communication *** the existing literature concerning bipartite synchronization,the network topology is required to be structurally balanced,which necessitates that competitive interactions exist only between two distinct *** this study,we aim to lengthen the network’s topology to a more general signed network in which antagonistic interactions can exist in the same or different *** to signed graph theory and the markovian stochastic event-triggering mechanism,the dynamical model of multiple neural networks(MNNs)with structurally unbalanced and markovian event-triggered communication is *** utilizing the stochastic Lyapunov stability analysis,some adequate criteria for B-Q synchronization of MNNs with the structurally unbalanced graph are obtained;also,a bound for the B-Q synchronization error is *** a special case,the bipartite synchronization criteria for MNNs with the structurally balanced graph are also ***,two simulations are performed to verify the theoretical result.

We experimentally demonstrate the generation of sub-100-fs pulses from a diode-pumped passively mode-locked Yb：Y3ScAl4O12 （Yb：YSAG） ceramic laser. Stable mode-locked pulses as short as 96 fs at the central wavelength of 1052 nm with a repetition rate of -102 MHz are obtained. The laser has a maximum average output power of 51 mW. To the best of our knowledge, these are so far the shortest pulses and the first demonstration of sub-100- fs pulses obtained from the mode-locked Yb：YSAG ceramic lasers.

Effect of pH on the Hydrothermal Synthesis of BN Nanocrystals

Boron nitride （BN） has been synthesized using hydrothermal synthesis method. The experimental results showed that the pH value of the reaction solution has an important effect on the yield and phases of BN samples. As the pH value decreased, the content of cBN increased and the yield improved. The increase in cBN content is resulted from the conversion of oBN into cBN under hydrothermal condition, and the growth of cBN nanocrystals may due to the decrease in the reaction speed, thus the crystalline perfection of BN improved when the pH value decreased.

The manipulation of fast,unidirectional motion for large droplets shows important applications in the fields of fog collection and biochemical ***,driving large droplets(>5μL)to move directionally and quickly remains challenging due to the nonnegligible volume ***,we fabricated a scalable,bionic peristome substrate with a microcavity width of 180μm using a 3D printing method,which could unidirectionally drive a large water droplet(~8μL)at a speed reaching 12.5 mm/s by temperature-responsive *** substrate surface was grafted with PNIPAAm,which could reversibly change its wettability in response to temperature,thereby enabling a temperature-responsive smart surface that could regulate droplet movement in real-time by changing the temperature.A series of temperature-responsive smart patterns were designed to induce water transport along specific paths to further realize controllable droplet motion with the antibacterial treatment of predesignated *** ability to achieve temperature-responsive unidirectional motion and dynamic control of droplet movement could allow programmable fluidic biosensors and precision medical devices.

The mainstream approaches to green networking are discussed first from the view of engineering,including resource consolidation,server virtualization,selective connectedness,and proportional computing.A brief introduction to network virtualization techniques is given then and a virtual node embedding approach is ***,three kinds of enhanced green networking schemes by network virtualization are proposed,that is enhancement to sever virtualization,resource consolidation and Adaptive Link Rate(ALR).Examples are included to show the virtue of network virtualization to green networking in terms of energy efficient communications.

A series of clay/poly（N-isopropylacrylamide-co-acrylamide） nanocomposite hydrogels （S-N-M gels） have been successfully prepared by in situ polymerization. The mechanical properties, swelling behavior of S-N-M gels and the transparency changes during polymerization of S-N-M gels have been systematically investigated. Compared to traditional hydrogels, S-N-M gels show excellent tensile properties and their swelling ratio increases with increasing acrylamide （AAm） content. The results of stress relaxation indicate that the stress loss decreases with increasing AAm content. It was surprisingly found that the transparency during all S-N-M gel synthesis changes abruptly, and the changes become more abrupt with increasing N-isopropylacrylamide content. It was concluded that the fact may be related to the hydrophilicity of copolymers. The weaker the hydrophilicity of copolymer, the more apparent the transparency change during S-N-M gels polymerization. We believe the relationship between hydrophilicity of copolymer and transparency changes will help to design novel nanocomposite hydrogels.

Modeling height–diameter relationships is an important component in estimating and predicting forest development under different forest management scenarios. In this paper, ten widely used candidate height–diameter models were fitted to tree height and diameter at breast height（DBH）data for Populus euphratica Oliv. within a 100 ha permanent plots at Arghan Village in the lower reaches of the Tarim River, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of china. Data from 4781 trees were used and split randomly into two sets：75 % of the data were used to estimate model parameters（model calibration）, and the remaining data（25 %） were reserved for model validation. All model performances were evaluated and compared by means of multiple model performance criteria such as asymptotic t-statistics of model parameters, standardized residuals against predicted height,root mean square error（RMSE）, Akaike’s informationcriterion（AIC）, mean prediction error（ME） and mean absolute error（MAE）. The estimated parameter a for model（6） was not statistically significant at a level of a = 0.05. RMSE and AIC test result for all models showed that exponential models（1）,（2）,（3） and（4） performed significantly better than others. All ten models had very small MEs and MAEs. Nearly all models underestimated tree heights except for model（6）. Comparing the MEs and MAEs of models, model（1） produced smaller MEs（0.0059） and MAEs（1.3754） than other models. To assess the predictive performance of models, we also calculated MEs by dividing the model validation data set into 10-cm DBH classes. This suggested that all models were likely to create higher mean prediction errors for tree DBH classes[20 cm. However, no clear trend was found among ***（6） generated significantly smaller mean prediction errors across all tree DBH classes.
