Role of iron ore in enhancing gasification of iron coke:Structural evolution,influence mechanism and kinetic analysis

The utilization of iron coke provides a green pathway for low-carbon *** uncover the influence mechanism of iron ore on the behavior and kinetics of iron coke gasification,the effect of iron ore on the microstructure of iron coke was ***,a comparative study of the gasification reactions between iron coke and coke was conducted through non-isothermal thermogravimetric *** findings indicate that compared to coke,iron coke exhibits an augmentation in micropores and specific surface area,and the micropores further extend and *** provides more adsorption sites for CO_(2) molecules during the gasification process,resulting in a reduction in the initial gasification temperature of iron *** the heating rate in non-isothermal gasification can enhance the reactivity of iron *** metallic iron reduced from iron ore is embedded in the carbon matrix,reducing the orderliness of the carbon structure,which is primarily responsible for the heightened reactivity of the carbon *** kinetic study indicates that the random pore model can effectively represent the gasification process of iron coke due to its rich pore ***,as the proportion of iron ore increases,the activation energy for the carbon gasification gradually decreases,from 246.2 kJ/mol for coke to 192.5 kJ/mol for iron coke 15wt%.

Effects of carbon content on the microstructure and tensile properties of a low-density steel

Carbon can change the phase components of low-density steels and influence the mechanical properties. In this study, a new method to control the carbon content and avoid the formation of δ-ferrite by decarburization treatment was proposed. The microstructural changes and mechanical characteristics with carbon content induced by decarburization were systematically examined. Crussard–Jaoul(C–J) analysis was employed to examine the work hardening characteristics during the tensile test. During decarburization by heat treatments, the carbon content within the austenite phase decreased, while Mn and Al were almost unchanged; this made the steel with full austenite transform into the austenite and ferrite dual phase. Meanwhile,(Ti,V)C carbides existed in both matrix phase and the mole fraction almost the same. In addition, the formation of other carbides restrained. Carbon loss induced a decrease in strength due to the weakening of the carbon solid solution. For the steel with the single austinite, the deformation mode of austenite was the dislocation planar glide, resulting in the formation of microbands. For the dual-phase steel, the deformation occurred by the dislocation planar glide of austenite first, with the increase in strain, the cross slip of ferrite took place, forming dislocation cells in ferrite. At the late stage of deformation, the work hardening of austinite increased rapidly, while that of ferrite increased slightly.

Although solar steam generation strategy is efficient in desalinating seawater,it is still challenging to achieve continuous solar-thermal desalination of seawater and catalytic degradation of organic ***,dynamic regulations of hydrogen bonding networks and solvation structures are realized by designing an asymmetric bilayer membrane consisting of a bacterial cellulose/carbon nanotube/Co_(2)(OH)_(2)CO_(3)nanorod top layer and a bacterial cellulose/Co_(2)(OH)_(2)CO_(3)nanorod(BCH)bottom ***,the hydrogen bonding networks inside the membrane can be tuned by the rich surface–OH groups of the bacterial cellulose and Co_(2)(OH)_(2)CO_(3)as well as the ions and radicals in situ generated during the catalysis ***,both SO_(4)^(2−)and HSO_(5)−can regulate the solvation structure of Na^(+)and be adsorbed more preferentially on the evaporation surface than Cl^(−),thus hindering the de-solvation of the solvated Na^(+)and subsequent nucleation/growth of ***,the heat generated by the solar-thermal energy conversion can accelerate the reaction kinetics and enhance the catalytic degradation *** work provides a flow-bed water purification system with an asymmetric solar-thermal and catalytic membrane for synergistic solar thermal desalination of seawater/brine and catalytic degradation of organic pollutants.

Electrochemical behaviour of erbium and preparation of Mg-Li-Er alloys by codeposition

The electrodeposition of erbium on molybdenum electrodes and the formation of Mg-Li-Er alloys were investigated in LiCl-KCl molten salts. At a molybdenum electrode, the electroreduction of Er （III） proceeded in a one-step process involving three electrons. The diffu-sion coefficient of erbium ions in the melts was determined by cyclic voltammetry, chronopotentiometry and chronoamperometry respectively. Cyclic voltammograms （CVs） showed that the underpotential deposition （UPD） of lithium on pre-deposited Mg-Er alloy led to the formation of a Mg-Li-Er alloy. X-ray diffraction （XRD） indicated that Er5Mg24 phase was formed via potentiostatic electrolysis. Scanning electron microscopy （SEM） showed that Er atoms mainly concentrated at the grain boundaries while Mg element evenly located in the alloy.

Two-terminal(2-T)perovskite(PVK)/CuIn(Ga)Se_(2)(CIGS)tandem solar cells(TSCs)have been considered as an ideal tandem cell because of their best bandgap matching regarding to Shockley–Queisser(S–Q)***,the nature of the irregular rough morphology of commercial CIGS prevents people from improving tandem device *** this paper,D-homoserine lactone hydrochloride is proven to improve coverage of PVK materials on irregular rough CIGS surfaces and also passivate bulk defects by modulating the growth of PVK *** addition,the minority carriers near the PVK/C60 interface and the incompletely passivated trap states caused interface recombination.A surface reconstruction with 2-thiopheneethylammonium iodide and N,N-dimethylformamide assisted passivates the defect sites located at the surface and grain ***,LiF is used to create this field effect,repelling hole carriers away from the PVK and C60 interface and thus reducing *** a result,a 2-T PVK/CIGS tandem yielded a power conversion efficiency of 24.6%(0.16 cm^(2)),one of the highest results for 2-T PVK/CIGS TSCs to our *** validation underscores the potential of our methodology in achieving superior performance in PVK/CIGS tandem solar cells.

Electrochemical behaviour and codeposition of Al-Li-Er alloys in LiCl-KCl-AlCl_3-Er_2O_3 melts

The electrochemical behaviour of Al, Li, and Er were investigated by electrochemical techniques, such as cyclic voltammograms, chronopotentiometric, chronoamperograms, and open circuit chronopotentiogram on molybdenum electrodes. The results showed that the underpotential deposition of erbium on pre-deposited Al electrodes formed two Al-Er intermetallic compounds. The codeposition of Al, Li, Er occurred and formed Al-Li-Er alloys in LiCl-KCl-AlCl3 -Er2O3 melts at 773K. Different phases such as Al2Er, Al2Er3 and βLi phase of Al-Li-Er alloys were prepared by galvanostatic electrolysis and characterized by X-ray diffraction （XRD）. Scanning electron microscopy （SEM） indicated that Er element mainly distributed at the grain boundary. ICP analyses showed that lithium and erbium contents of Al-Li-Er alloys could be controlled by AlCl3 and Er2O3 concentration and electrochemical parameters.

Corrosion protection of AZ31 magnesium alloy treated with La^(3+) modified 3-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane conversion film

This study demonstrated the influence of addition concentration of La3＋ on the anti-corrosion behavior of a 3-methacry- loxypropyltrimethoxysilane （MPS） film formed on AZ31 magnesium alloy. The morphology and surface chemistry of the samples were evaluated through scanning electron microscopy （SEM） and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy （FT-IR）, respectively. The corrosion resistance of the pre-treated AZ31 magnesium alloy was studied during immersion in 0.1 mol/L NaC1 solution, using poten- tiodynamic polarization curves and electrochemical impedance spectra （EIS）. In comparison to MPS film, the low concentration of La3＋ ion modified silane layer exhibited a better anti-corrosion performance, nevertheless, the high concentration of La3＋ ion modified was worse. Results showed that the preferable addition concentration of La3＋ ion in the silane film was 5Х 10-4 mol/L in this experi- ment.

Effects of holmium and hot-rolling on microstructure and mechanical properties of Mg-Li based alloys

A rare earth holmium（Ho） element was introduced into Mg-8Li-3Al alloy to investigate the effects of holmium and hot-rolling on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the Mg-Li based alloys. Both alloys with and without Ho showed a duplex structure with α and β phases. The as-cast Mg-8Li-3Al alloy exhibited a yield strength（YS） of 111.1 MPa, ultimate tensile strength（UTS） of 148.2 MPa and an elongation of 9.50% while the hot-rolled Mg-8Li-3Al-3Ho alloy had a yield strength of 249.7 MPa, ultimate tensile strength of 293.1 MPa with an elongation of 21.40%. These results indicated that both strength and ductility could be significantly enhanced by addition of holmium together with thermo-mechanical treatment. It was found that the microstructure could be refined significantly and the fracture modes changed from partial brittle to ductile fracture due to the addition of holmium. The effects of microstructure refinement, work hardening and solid solution strengthening induced by the addition of holmium and hot-rolling on the mechanical properties were discussed.

Investigation of bubbles escape behavior from low basicity mold flux for high-Mn high-Al steels using 3D X-ray microscope

During the continuous casting process of high-Mn high-Al steels,various types of gases such as Ar need to escape through the top of the *** which,the behavior of bubbles traversing the liquid slag serves as a restrictive link,closely associated with viscosity and the thickness of liquid *** contrast to two-dimensional surface observation,three-dimensional(3D)analysis method can offer a more intuitive,accurate,and comprehensive ***,this study employs a 3D X-ray microscope(3D-XRM)to obtained spatial distribution and 3D morphological characteristics of residual bubbles in mold flux under different basicity of liquid slag,different temperatures,and different holding *** results indicate that as basicity of slag increases from 0.52 to 1.03,temperature increases from 1423 to 1573 K,the viscosity of slag decreases,the floating rate of bubbles *** addition,when holding time increases from 10 to 30 s,the bubbles floating distance increases,and the volume fraction and average equivalent sphere diameter of the bubbles solidified in the mold flux gradually *** one word,increasing the basicity,temperature,and holding time leading to an increase in the removal rate of bubbles especially for the *** findings of bubbles escape behavior provide valuable insights into optimizing low basicity mold flux for high-Mn high-Al steels.
