Hydroxyl carboxylate based non-phosphorus corrosion inhibition process for reclaimed water pipeline and downstream recirculating cooling water system

A combined process was developed to inhibit the corrosion both in the pipeline of reclaimed water supplies（PRWS） and in downstream recirculating cooling water systems（RCWS）using the reclaimed water as makeup. Hydroxyl carboxylate-based corrosion inhibitors（e.g.,gluconate, citrate, tartrate） and zinc sulfate heptahydrate, which provided Zn^2＋ as a synergistic corrosion inhibition additive, were added prior to the PRWS when the phosphate（which could be utilized as a corrosion inhibitor） content in the reclaimed water was below 1.7 mg/L, and no additional corrosion inhibitors were required for the downstream *** corrosion inhibition was achieved even if the RCWS was operated under the condition of high numbers of concentration cycles. The corrosion inhibition requirement was also met by the appropriate combination of PO4^3- and Zn^2＋ when the phosphate content in the reclaimed water was more than 1.7 mg/L. The process integrated not only water reclamation and reuse, and the operation of a highly concentrated RCWS, but also the comprehensive utilization of phosphate in reclaimed water and the application of non-phosphorus corrosion inhibitors. The proposed process reduced the operating cost of the PRWS and the RCWS, and lowered the environmental hazard caused by the excessive discharge of phosphate. Furthermore, larger amounts of water resources could be conserved as a result.

In this paper, the effects of unequal injection rates and different hopping rates on the asymmetric simple exclusion process （ASEP） with a 2-input 1-output junction are studied by using a simple mean-field approach and extensive computer simulations. The steady-state particle currents, the density profiles, and the phase diagrams are obtained. It is shown that with unequal injection rates and different hopping rates, the phase diagram structure is qualitatively changed. The theoretical calculations are in good agreement with Monte Carlo simulations.

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of dietary conjugated linoleic acid(CLA) supplementation of pregnant and lactating sows on muscle growth and myofiber type oftheir *** are thirty healthy,pregnant Rongchang sows withsimilar body condition and closed expected day of parturition for the experiment in *** experiment groups carry out with/without CLA(1%,2%and 0).The experiment began on 85day of gestation and ended at 28day after piglet *** results show that 1,piglets from CLA-fed sows had heavier longissimus dorsi and higher percentages of slow myofibers than control piglets(Ppig skeletal muscle cells and up-regulatesthe expression levels of MyHC 1 and MyOG,butt10,c12-CLA strongly inhibited cellulardifferentiation and down-regulates expression of *** findings suggest that dietary CLAduring early life mayaffect muscle development and myofiber type in pigs.

Three new bifunctional additive for safer nickel-cobalt-aluminum based lithium ion batteries

Three different types of new electrolyte additives were adopted as flame retardant to improve the safety of nickel-cobalt-aluminum(LiNi_(0.8)Co_(0.15)Al_(0.05)O_2, abbreviation NCA) based lithium batteries. By adding 5 wt% of the additives, an obvious flame retardant effect can be observed for the electrolyte. Furthermore,it was found that the additives can help for forming a stable cathode electrolyte interface(CEI) film on the NCA cathode, which are important for enhancing the thermal stability of the electrolyte and make the electrolyte obviously reduce the flammability, as well as good effect on the cycling cycle performance of the battery. These results indicate that our flame retardant are favorable additives in conventional liquid electrolytes for rechargeable lithium-ion batteries with good safety and high performances.

Joint method for reconstructing three-dimensional temperature of flame using Lucy-Richardson and nearest neighbor filtering using light-field imaging

The real-time measurement and reconstruction of three-dimensional temperature are essential when studying the combustion process inside a flame. In the proposed sectioned flame light field imaging model, flame sections are reconstructed based on the characteristics identified using the Lucy-Richardson or nearest neighbor filtering methods, or a joint method involving a combination of both, to improve on the accuracy of two-dimensional temperature reconstruction. Compared to the results of a previous work, the proposed method increases the resolution in the depth of field direction and the extraction of the flame temperature of all sections from the same height ensures the accuracy of the reconstructed temperature distribution across the cross-section of the flame. The relative error when compared to the actual flame is less than 10%. Thus, this approach allows the accurate estimation of the three-dimensional temperature distribution inside a flame, and enables the rapid and effective reconstruction of the three-dimensional temperature field.

Electrochemical conversion of hypertoxic trivalent arsenic to value-added metallic arsenic can not only contribute to pollution abatement,but also resources reutilization,therefore being widely *** reduction of trivalent arsenic as a promising way is widely ***,the high efficiency conversion is retarded by the sluggish reduction kinetics of AsO33−and fierce evolution of side products of both H_(2)and toxic AsH_(3).Herein,by using the sodium citrate as the additive,the current efficiency for metal arsenic production is increased greatly from 60%to 91%,with the accompanied evolution of hypertoxic AsH_(3)being restrained from 0.15 Nm^(3)/t_(As)to 0.022 Nm^(3)/t_(As),promising a high-efficiency and green *** electrochemical tests and electrode surface characterizations aswell as DFT calculations indicate that the added sodium citrate promotes both the diffusion of reactive AsO_(3)^(3−)towards the cathode and its subsequent adsorption on the Ti cathode,contributing to smoother reduction for generating metal arsenic,with the evolution of toxic AsH_(3)being hindered at the same *** results can provide new insights for the highefficiency and greener conversion of hypertoxic trivalent arsenic to value-added metallic arsenic.
