Polysaccharides from Chinese herbal medicine: a review on the hepatoprotective and molecular mechanism

Polysaccharides, predominantly extracted from traditional Chinese medicinal herbs such as Lycium barbarum, Angelica sinensis, Astragalus membranaceus, Dendrobium officinale, Ganoderma lucidum, and Poria cocos, represent principal bioactive constituents extensively utilized in Chinese medicine. These compounds have demonstrated significant anti-inflammatory capabilities,especially anti-liver injury activities, while exhibiting minimal adverse effects. This review summarized recent studies to elucidate the hepatoprotective efficacy and underlying molecular mechanisms of these herbal polysaccharides. It underscored the role of these polysaccharides in regulating hepatic function, enhancing immunological responses, and improving antioxidant capacities, thus contributing to the attenuation of hepatocyte apoptosis and liver protection. Analyses of molecular pathways in these studies revealed the intricate and indispensable functions of traditional Chinese herbal polysaccharides in liver injury management. Therefore, this review provides a thorough examination of the hepatoprotective attributes and molecular mechanisms of these medicinal polysaccharides,thereby offering valuable insights for the advancement of polysaccharide-based therapeutic research and their potential clinical applications in liver disease treatment.

Type 1 diabetes mellitus(T1DM) lacks insulin secretion due to autoimmune deficiency of pancreaticβ-*** pancreatic islets and enhancing insulin secretion has been therapeutic *** is the main type of polysaccharide from natural mushroom,which has potential medicinal ***,the antidiabetic property of mannogalactoglucan in T1DM has not been fully *** this study,we obtained the neutral fraction of alkali-soluble Armillaria mellea polysaccharide(AAMP-N) with the structure of mannogalactoglucan from the fruiting body of *** and investigated the potential therapeutic value of AAMP-N in *** demonstrated that AAMP-N lowered blood glucose and improved diabetes symptoms in T1DM ***-N activated unfolded protein response(UPR) signaling pathway to maintain ER protein folding homeostasis and promote insulin secretion in *** that,AAMP-N promoted insulin synthesis via upregulating the expression of transcription factors,increased Ca^(2+) signals to stimulate intracellular insulin secretory vesicle transport via activating calcium/calmodulin-dependent kinase Ⅱ(CamkⅡ) and cAMP/PKA signals,and enhanced insulin secretory vesicle fusion with the plasma membrane via vesicle-associated membrane protein 2(VAMP2).Collectively,these studies demonstrated that the therapeutic potential of AAMP-N on pancreatic islets function,indicating that mannogalactoglucan could be natural nutraceutical used for the treatment of T1DM.

Protein tyrosine phosphorylation is a post-translational modification that regulates protein structure to modulate demic organisms’homeostasis and *** physiological process is regulated by two enzyme families,protein tyrosine kinases(PTKs)and protein tyrosine phosphatases(PTPs).As an important regulator of protein function,PTPs are indispensable for maintaining cell intrinsic physiology in different systems,as well as liver physiological and pathological *** of PTPs has been implicated in multiple liver-related diseases,including chronic liver diseases(CLDs),hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC),and liver injury,and several PTPs are being studied as drug therapeutic ***,given the regulatory role of PTPs in diverse liver diseases,a collated review of their function and mechanism is ***,based on the current research status of targeted therapy,we emphasize the inclusion of several PTP members that are clinically significant in the development and progression of liver *** an emerging breakthrough direction in the treatment of liver diseases,this review summarizes the research status of PTP-targeting compounds in liver diseases to illustrate their potential in clinical ***,this review aims to support the development of novel PTP-based treatment pathways for liver diseases.

A novel asymmetric[4+2]cycloaddition of 2-methylidenetrimethylene carbonate with pyrrolidonederived enones has been achieved to produce the functionalized tetrahydropyran-fused spirocyclic scaffolds via *** array of enantioenriched spiro-pyrrolidine-2,3-diones bearing adjacent quaternary and tertiary stereocenters are obtained in high yields with excellent enantioselectivities(up to 96% yield and 99% ee).The further transformation of the product has been accomplished for the construction of medical interesting β^(2,2)-amino acids and β-*** mechanistic research was well conducted.

Alpine treeline ecotones are highly sensitive to climate *** low temperature-determined alpine treeline is expected to shift upwards in response to global ***,little is known about how temperature interacts with other important factors to influence the distribution range of tree species within and beyond the alpine treeline ***,we used a GF-2 satellite image,along with bioclimatic and topographic variables,to develop an ensemble suitable habitat model based on the species distribution modeling algorithms in *** investigated the distribution of suitable habitats for *** under three climate change scenarios(i.e.,low(SSP126),moderate(SSP370)and extreme(SSP585)future emission trajectories)between two consecutive time periods(i.e.,current-2055,and 2055-2085).By 2055,the potential distribution range of *** will expand under all three climate *** medium and high suitable areas will decline under SSP370 and SSP585scenarios from 2055 to ***,under the three climate scenarios,the uppermost altitudes of low suitable habitat will rise to 2,329 m a.s.l.,while the altitudes of medium and high suitable habitats will fall to 2,201 and2,051 m *** 2085,*** promotes the expansion of *** distribution range in changbai mountain,and this expansion will be modified by precipitation as climate warming *** interaction between temperature and precipitation plays a significant role in shaping the potential distribution range of *** in the alpine treeline *** study reveals the link between environmental factors,habitat distribution,and species distribution in the alpine treeline ecotone,providing valuable insights into the impacts of climate change on high-elevation vegetation,and contributing to mountain biodiversity conservation and sustainable development.

Synthesis and anticonvulsant activity of 1-substituted benzyl- N-substituted-1, 2, 3-triazole-4-formamides

Substituted benzyl azids were synthesized through the reaction of substituted benzyl chloride and sodium azid, which subsequently underwent cyclization with ethyl propiolate and amidation to give thirteen 1-substituted benzyl-N-substituted-1, 2, 3-triazole-4-formamide derivatives (3a-3m) . The structure of the synthesized compounds was confirmed by IR, 1H-NMR, MS and elemental analysis. Their ant icon vulsant activity against maximal electrolshock (MES) induced seizure was tested and the result showed that all these compounds possess anticonvulsant activity in different degrees. Among those, the compounds containing chloro atoms on the phenyl ring were less potent in anticonvulsant activity, while introducing one or two fluorin atoms on benzyl system increased its activity. Furthermore, their activity decreased when there was substituent on the nitrogen atom of carboxamide, and the larger the substituent, the lower the activity.

Protected areas have become important tourism products that promoted as attractions by the tourism industry. Taking the changbai mountain Biosphere Reserve in Northeast China as a case, this study addresses visitor needs as a basis for developing a tourism strategy aimed at enhancing tourist opportunities at this reserve. A factor-cluster approach was employed to identify visitor segment profiles based on their visit motivations. Through random sampling, a pencil-and-paper questionnaire in Chinese language was collected from 637 domestic tourists in the study area. A principal components analysis of motivations revealed eight motivational factors, and four distinct groups of tourists – Nature travelers, Cultural landscape tourists, Food & shopping enthusiasts, and Eclectic adventurers – were identified. Understanding the differences in these visitor segments will help the management authority effectively analyze nature reserve attributes and provide alternative activities and services to tourists. Finally, within the dual framework of market segmentation and destination management some management recommendations and marketing implications are suggested.
