Exploring transition metal sulfide electrocatalysts with high-efficiency for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)is essential to produce H_(2) fuel through water ***,novel nickel tungsten sulfide heterojunction(NiS-WS_(2))with a nanowoven ball-like structure were directed synthetized by a facile hydrothermal *** hierarchical Ni S-WS_(2) exhibited excellent HER activity with a relatively small overpotential of 142 and 137 m V at 10 m A/cm^(2) in 0.5 mol/L H_(2)SO_(4) and 1 mol/L KOH,which is much better than that of single NiS and WS_(2).The impressive performance of NiS-WS_(2) heterojunction is owed to the collective synergy of special morphological and more exposed active sites between the crystal interfacial of NiS and WS_(2).In addition,the hierarchical NiS-WS_(2) can facilitate the transport of charge/mass by optimized electronic structure,which further improves the HER activity of *** outcomes provide a simple method to prospect towards the design and application of heterostructures as efficient electrocatalysts,shedding some light on the development of functional materials in energy chemistry.

The CRISPR RNA(crRNA)consists of a conserved repeat RNA(rRNA)and an alterable spacer RNA(sRNA),which can guide the Cas12a effector to recognize and target DNA molecules of interest in both full-length and split *** herein demonstrated the split crRNA can be repurposed for RNA detection through serving the sRNA as an RNA *** by this phenomenon,we developed a Cas12a-based direct RNA detection method,known as split crRNA-motivated amplification-free RNA testing(SMART).We adopted SMART to detect both short-stranded and long-stranded RNA target using two Cas12a orthologs(LbCas12a and FnCas12a),and it showed more prominent ability in detecting short-stranded RNA than long-stranded *** potential mechanism revealed that RNA overhangs impede the RNA strand and dsDNA activator from accessing the catalytic site in the RuvC domain of the Cas12a effector,compromising the stability of the quaternary complex,and thus reducing the efficiency of ***,by simply introducing a short DNA activator,SMART could detect attomolar miRNA targets and femtomolar long-stranded RNA target without the need for additional preamplification or reverse transcription *** addition,SMART showed wonderful discrimination ability toward single-nucleotide ***,the collaboration of SMART with the CRISPR–Cas13a system enabled simultaneous detection of multiplex ***,SMART is a simple,yet potent tool that can be flexibly applied to various short-stranded RNA detection,and holds great potential to be extended to other Cas12 orthologs.

Xiaoaiping(XAP) Injection demonstrates the anti-prostate cancer(PCa) effects, yet the underlying mechanism remains unclear. This study aims to investigate the impact of XAP on PCa and elucidate its mechanism of action. PCa cell proliferation was evaluated using a cell counting kit-8(CCK-8) assay. Cell apoptosis was assessed through Hoechst staining and Western blotting assays. Proteomics technology was employed to identify key molecules and significant signaling pathways modulated by XAP in PCa cells. To further validate potential key genes and important pathways, a series of assays were conducted, including acridine orange(AO)staining, transmission electron microscopy, and immunofluorescence assays. The molecular mechanism of XAP against PCa in vivo was examined using a PC3 xenograft mouse model. Results demonstrated that XAP significantly inhibited cell proliferation in multiple PCa cell *** C4-2 and prostate cancer cell line-3(PC3) cells, XAP induced cellular apoptosis, evidenced by reduced B-cell lymphoma 2(Bcl-2) levels and elevated Bcl-2-associated X(Bax) levels. Proteomic, immunofluorescence, and quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(q RT-PCR) investigations revealed a strong correlation between forkhead box O3a(Fox O3a) autophagic degradation and the anti-PCa action of XAP. XAP hindered autophagy by reducing the expression levels of autophagy-related protein 5(Atg5)/autophagy-related protein 12(Atg12) and enhancing Fox O3a expression and nuclear translocation. Furthermore,XAP exhibited potent anti-PCa action in PC3 xenograft mice and triggered Fox O3a nuclear translocation in tumor tissue. These findings suggest that XAP induces PCa apoptosis via inhibition of Fox O3a autophagic degradation, potentially offering a novel perspective on XAP injection as an effective anticancer therapy for PCa.

A pyrimidine derivative,6-phenyl-2-thiouracil(PT),was synthesized for developing a corrosion inhibitor(CI)applied in the protection of the nickel−aluminum bronze(NAB)in *** anti-corrosion effect of PT was evaluated by the mass loss experiment,electrochemical tests and surface *** results show that PT exhibits excellent inhibition performance and the maximum inhibition efficiency of PT reaches 99.6%.The interaction mechanism was investigated through X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)and molecule dynamics simulation based on the density functional theory(DFT).The S-Cu,Al-N and Cu-N bonds are formed by the chemical interactions,leading to the adsorption of PT on the NAB *** diffusion of corrosive species is hindered considerably by the protective PT film with composition of(PT-Cu)_(ads)and(PT-Al)_(ads)on the PT/NAB *** degree of suppression is increased with the addition of more PT molecules.
