Changes of Late Mesozoic Tectonic Regimes around the Ordos Basin(North China)and their Geodynamic Implications

A synthesis is given in this paper on late Mesozoic deformation pattern in the zones around the Ordos Basin based on lithostratigraphic and structural analyses. A relative chronology of the late Mesozoic tectonic stress evolution was established from the field analyses of fault kinematics and constrained by stratigraphic contact relationships. The results show alternation of tectonic compressional and extensional regimes. The Ordos Basin and its surroundings were in weak N-S to NNE-SSW extension during the Early to Middle Jurassic, which reactivated E-W-trending basement fractures. The tectonic regime changed to a multi-directional compressional one during the Late Jurassic, which resulted in crustal shortening deformation along the marginal zones of the Ordos Basin. Then it changed to an extensional one during the Early Cretaceous, which rifted the western, northwestern and southeastern margins of the Ordos Basin. A NW-SE compression occurred during the Late Cretaceous and caused the termination of sedimentation and uplift of the Ordos Basin. This phased evolution of the late Mesozoic tectonic stress regimes and associated deformation pattern around the Ordos Basin best records the changes in regional geodynamic settings in East Asia, from the Early to Middle Jurassic post-orogenic extension following the Triassic collision between the North and South China Blocks, to the Late Jurassic multi-directional compressions produced by synchronous convergence of the three plates （the Siberian Plate to the north, Paleo-Pacific Plate to the east and Lhasa Block to the west） towards the East Asian continent. Early Cretaceous extension might be the response to collapse and lithospheric thinning of the North China Craton.

A three-dimensional model for suspended sediment transport based on the compact discontinuous Galerkin method

Thermoelectric transport properties of Bi CuSeO with embedded La0.8Sr_(0.2)CoO_3 nanoinclusions

The efficiency-upgrading role that La0.8Sr0.2CoO3 plays in the thermoelectric properties of Bi Cu Se O（BCSO） has been studied. LSCO was introduced into BCSO, increasing the electrical conductivity from 3.3 to 52.3 S cm^-1 at 303 K, from 35.8 to 97.3 S cm^-1 at 873 K; respectively. The Seebeck coefficient of all composites still holds around or more than 200 μV/K. Based on the enhanced electrical conductivity and high Seebeck coefficient, the power factor is enhanced by approximately 35%, with the best sample reaching a maximum value of 476.7 μ Wm^-1 K^-2 at 873 K. The lattice thermal conductivity of the nanocomposites is reduced as LSCO content increases from 15 vol% to 30 vol% due to the phonon scattering by nanoparticles and grain boundaries, resulting in a significant reduction in total thermal conductivity. In short, the enhanced thermoelectric figure of merit of 0.67 at 873 K for the sample containing 20 vol% LSCO as compared to 0.53 for the pure sample; announces the promising effect of LSCO on improving thermoelectric properties of Bi Cu Se O.

Modeling of strength and deformation of overconsolidated clays based on bounding surface plasticity

An elastoplastic constitutive model for overconsolidated clays is established in the framework of the critical state theory and bounding surface plasticity theory. The bounding surface is defined as the maximum yield surface in the loading history. A yielding ratio, i.e., an internal variant, is defined as the size ratio of the current yield surface to the corresponding bounding surface. The yielding ratio instead of the overconsolidation ratio(OCR) is used to evaluate the strength and stress-strain behaviors of overconsolidated clays in the shearing process. The bounding stress ratio incorporating the effect of the yielding ratio is used to characterize the potential failure strength of the overconsolidated clays. The dilation stress ratio taking into account the effect of the yielding ratio is applied to describe the dilatancy behaviors of the overconsolidated clays. Comparisons between model predictions and test data show that the proposed model could well capture the strength and stress-strain behaviors of normally consolidated and overconsolidated clays.

Laser micro cladding deposition manufacturing(Ll CDM) is a newly developed rapid manufacturing method for *** Ll CDM technology adopts a novel powder feeding method based on alternating friction and inertia force, and this powder feeding method can effectively improve the accuracy and orientation of the powder injection, resulting in a smaller molten pool size and a higher cooling rate of liquid ***, the components fabricated by Ll CDM could obtain the finer microstructures and the improved mechanical *** is found that the components fabricated by Ll CDM are fully dense free of cracks or pores and exhibit columnar prior b grains with a finer acicular a0 phase *** microhardness(HV0.2) of the thin-wall component is HV 400–HV 500 in the majority part of the cross section and can reach about HV 850 in the top *** ultimate tensile strength(UTS) and elongation show insignificant dependence on the testing directions of the *** UTS is between 1,002 and 1,100 MPa, and the elongation is between 10.0 % and 14.7 %.

Unified plastic modulus in the bounding surface plasticity model

A unified plastic modulus parameter for the bounding surface plasticity model is introduced in order to maintain the identical responses of modeling for both the two-dimensional and three-dimensional stress space with the same model parameters. Also discussed are the influences of the plastic modulus parameter on the stress-strain relationship and the plastic modulus. The model is more sensitive in modeling the stress strain responses when the plastic modulus parameter is small. The plastic modulus parameter has a great influence on the magnitude of the plastic modulus, especially at the initial loading stage. The plastic modulus asymptotically tends to zero at the end of loading.

Heptamethine cyanines(Cy7)are one of the most important dyes in bioimaging and phototherapy,but they often suffer from poor photostability or limited photothermal conversion ***,a facile molecular engineering approach to regulating the photophysical properties of Cy7 by metal ions is *** innovatively modifying the nitrogen with functional groups,a novel terpyridine-grafted nitrogen-terminated Cy7 scaffold(denoted as CydtPy)was synthesized and exhibited tunable photophysical properties when chelating with various metal ions(Mn^(2+),Fe^(2+),etc.).In comparison with metal-ion-free PEGylated CydtPy(LET-11),Mn^(2+)-chelated LET-11(namely,LET-11-Mn)exhibited the increased fluorescence emission intensity,and Fe^(2+)-chelated LET-11(namely,LET-11-Fe)showed the enhanced photostability with~2-fold increase in photothermal conversion *** simply switching the chelated metal ion species,LET-11-Mn or LET-11-Fe could be used for near-infrared fluorescence imaging,magnetic resonance imaging,or photoacoustic ***,LET-11-Fe displayed superior synergistic efficacy of photothermal therapy and chemodynamic therapy both in vitro and in *** work not only provides a new strategy for regulating the photophysical properties of cyanine dyes but also establishes a versatile nanoplatform for cancer theranostics.

Polycrystalline tungsten（W）and molybdenum（Mo）materials both non-annealed and annealed at temperatures of 800-1750~C have been irradiated with low-energy（220 eV）,high-flux（~10^（21）ions/m^2.s）He~＋at an irradiation temperature of 600℃and at a dose of1.0×10^（25）ions/m^*** non-destructive conductive atomic force microscopy technique provides direct observation and comparison of surface swellings with growth of nanoscale defects in the irradiated materials.A coral-like surface structure and nanostructured defects were formed in W when irradiated at a He＋dose of 1.0×10^（25）ions/m^*** the annealing temperature resulted in an increase in the size of nanostructured defects and serious surface damage of *** to W,Mo suffered much less surface damage after being irradiated at various He~＋doses.
