A dynamic plant architecture is the basis of plant adaptation to changing *** many genes regulating leaf rolling have been identified,genes directly associated with water homeostasis are largely ***,we isolated a rice mutant,dynamic leaf rolling 1(dlr1),characterized by‘leaf unfolding in the morning-leaf rolling at noon-leaf unfolding in the evening’during a sunny *** content was decreased in rolled leaves and water sprayed on leaves caused reopening,indicating that in vivo water deficiency induced the leaf ***-based cloning and expression tests demonstrated that an A1400G single base mutation in Oryza sativa Polygalacturonase 1(OsPG1)/PHOTO-SENSITIVE LEAF ROLLING 1(PSL1)was responsible for the dynamic leaf rolling phenotype in the dlr1 ***1 encodes a polygalacturonase,one of the main enzymes that degrade demethylesterified homogalacturonans in plant cell ***1 was constitutively expressed in various tissues and was enriched in *** of the OsPG1 gene exhibited defects in stomatal closure and decreased stomatal density,leading to reduced transpiration and excessive water loss under specific conditions,but had normal root *** analysis revealed that mutation of OsPG1 led to reduced pectinase activity in the leaves and increased demethylesterified homogalacturonans in guard *** findings reveal a mechanism by which OsPG1 modulates water homeostasis to control dynamic leaf rolling,providing insights for plants to adapt to environmental variation.

A FAS approach for stabilization of generalized chained forms: part 2. Continuous control laws

In this paper, continuous time-varying stabilizing controllers for the type of general nonholonomic systems proposed and treated in part 1 are designed using the fully actuated system(FAS) approach. The key step is to differentiate the first scalar equation, and by control of the obtained second-order scalar system, a proportional plus integral feedback form for the first control variable is obtained. With the solution to this designed second-order scalar system, the rest equations in the nonholonomic system form an independent time-varying subsystem which is then handled by the FAS approach. The overall designed controller contains an almost arbitrarily chosen design parameter, and is proven to guarantee the uniformly and globally exponential stability of the closed-loop system. The proposed approach is simple and effective,and is demonstrated with a practical example of ship control.

Antimicrobial resistance characteristics and phylogenetic relationships of pleuromutilin-resistant Enterococcus isolates from different environmental samples along a laying hen production chain

Antimicrobial resistance in the laying hen production industry has become a serious public health *** antimicrobial resistance and phylogenetic relationships of the common conditional pathogen Enterococcus along the laying hen production chain have not been systematically clarified.105 Enterococcus isolates were obtained from 115 environmental samples (air,dust,feces,fies,sewage,and soil) collected along the laying hen production chain (breeding chicken,chick,young chicken,and commercial laying hen).These Enterococcus isolates exhibited resistance to some clinically relevant antibiotics,such as tetracycline (92.4%),streptomycin (92.4%),and erythromycin (91.4%),and all strains had multidrug resistance *** genome sequencing characterized 29 acquired antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) that conferred resistance to 11 classes of antibiotics in 51pleuromutilin-resistant Enterococcus isolates,and lsa(E),which mediates resistance to pleuromutilins,always co-occurred with lnu(B).Alignments with the Mobile Genetic Elements database identified four transposons (Tn554,Tn558,Tn6261,and Tn6674) with several ARGs(erm(A),ant(9)-la,fex(A),and optrA) that mediated resistance to many clinically important ***,we identified two new transposons that carried ARGs in the Tn554 family designated as Tn7508 and Tn7492.A complementary approach based on conventional multi-locus sequence typing and whole genome single nucleotide polymorphism analysis showed that phylogenetically related pleuromutilin-resistant Enterococcus isolates were widely distributed in various environments on different production *** results indicate that environmental contamination by antimicrobial-resistant Enterococcus requires greater attention,and they highlight the risk of pleuromutilin-resistant Enterococcus and ARGs disseminating along the laying hen production chain,thereby warranting effective disinfection.

FSS: algorithm and neural network accelerator for style transfer

Neural networks(NNs), owing to their impressive performance, have gradually begun to dominate multimedia processing. For resource-constrained and energy-sensitive mobile devices, an efficient NN accelerator is necessary. Style transfer is an important multimedia application. However, existing arbitrary style transfer networks are complex and not well supported by current NN accelerators, limiting their application on mobile devices. Moreover, the quality of style transfer needs improvement. Thus, we design the Fast Style system(FSS), where a novel algorithm and an NN accelerator are proposed for style transfer. In FSS, we first propose a novel arbitrary style transfer algorithm, Fast Style. We propose a light network that contributes to high quality and low computational complexity and a prior mechanism to avoid retraining when the style changes. Then, we redesign an NN accelerator for Fast Style by applying two improvements to the basic NVIDIA deep learning accelerator(NVDLA) architecture. First, a flexible dat FSM and wt FSM are redesigned to enable the original data path to perform other operations(including the GRAM operation)by software programming. Moreover, statistics and judgment logic are designed to utilize the continuity of a video stream and remove the data dependency in the instance normalization, which improves the accelerator performance by 18.6%. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed Fast Style can achieve higher quality with a lower computational cost, making it more suitable for mobile devices. The proposed NN accelerator is implemented on the Xilinx VCU118 FPGA under a 180-MHz clock. Experimental results show that the accelerator can stylize 512×512-pixel video with 20 FPS, and the measured performance reaches up to 306.07 GOPS. The ASIC implementation in TSMC 28 nm achieves about 22 FPS in the case of a 720-p video.

Optimized Mask-RCNN model for particle chain segmentation based on improved online ferrograph sensor

Ferrograph-based wear debris analysis(WDA)provides significant information for wear fault analysis of mechanical *** decades of offline application,this conventional technology is being driven by the online ferrograph sensor for real-time wear state ***,online ferrography has been greatly limited by the low imaging quality and segmentation accuracy of particle chains when analyzing degraded lubricant oils in practical *** address this issue,an integrated optimization method is developed that focuses on two aspects:the structural re-design of the online ferrograph sensor and the intelligent segmentation of particle *** enhancing the imaging quality of wear particles,the magnetic pole of the online ferrograph sensor is optimized to enable the imaging system directly observe wear particles without penetrating ***,a light source simulation model is established based on the light intensity distribution theory,and the LED installation parameters are determined for particle illumination uniformity in the online ferrograph *** this basis,a Mask-RCNN-based segmentation model of particle chains is constructed by specifically establishing the region of interest(ROI)generation layer and the ROI align layer for the irregular particle *** these measures,a new online ferrograph sensor is designed to enhance the image acquisition and information extraction of wear *** verification,the developed sensor is tested to collect particle images from different degraded oils,and the images are further handled with the Mask-RCNN-based model for particle feature *** results reveal that the optimized online ferrography can capture clear particle images even in highly-degraded lubricant oils,and the illumination uniformity reaches 90%in its imaging *** importantly,the statistical accuracy of wear particles has been improved from 67.2%to 94.1%.

Nitrosamines are a class of carcinogens which have been detected widely in food,water,some pharmaceuticals as well as *** objectives of this paper include reviewing the basic information on tobacco consumption and nitrosamine contents,and assessing the health risks of tobacco nitrosamines exposure to Chinese *** searched the publications in English from“Web of Science”and those in Chinese from the“China National Knowledge Infrastructure”in 2022 and collected 151 literatures with valid *** content of main nitrosamines in tobacco,including 4-(methylnitrosoamino)-1-(3-pyridyl)-1-butanone(NNK),N-nitrosonornicotine(NNN),N-nitrosoanatabine(NAT),N-nitrosoanabasine(NAB),total tobacco-specific nitrosamines(TSNA),and N-nitrosodimethylamine(NDMA)were *** information of daily tobacco consumption of smokers in 30 provinces of China was also ***,the intakes of NNN,NNK,NAT,NAB,TSNAs,and NDMA via tobacco smoke were estimated as 1534ng/day,591 ng/day,685 ng/day,81 ng/day,2543 ng/day,and 484 ng/day by adult smokers in30 provinces,*** cancer risk(CR)values for NNN and NNK inhalation intake were further calculated as 1.44×10^(-5)and 1.95×10^(-4).The CR value for NDMA intake via tobacco smoke(inhalation:1.66×10^(-4))indicates that NDMA is similarly dangerous in tobacco smoke when compared with the *** China,the CR values caused by average nitrosamines intake via various exposures and their order can be estimated as the following:smoke(3.75×10^(-4))>food(1.74×10^(-4))>drinking water(1.38×10^(-5)).Smokers in China averagely suffer 200%of extra cancer risk caused by nitrosamines in tobacco when compared with non-smokers.

Distinct effect of preparation methods on reaction efficiency of Mn-Ce/Al2O3 catalysts in low-temperature NH3-SCR

In this study,a series of Mn-Ce/Al2O3catalysts was prepared by different methods of depositionprecipitation（MnCeAl-DP）,impregnation（MnCeAl-IM） and citric acid（MnCeAl-CA）,and the distinct effect of preparation methods on NOxremoval performance at low temperature was *** show that MnCeAl-DP exhibits not only the best activity but also the highest resistance against SO2/*** the assistance of comprehensive characterizations from scanning electron microscopy（SEM）,Brunauer-Emmett-Teller（BET）,X-ray diffraction（XRD）,H2-temperature programmed reduction（H2-TPR）,NH3-te mperature programmed deso rption（NH3-TPD）,and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy（XPS）,it is revealed that the MnCeAl-DP sample owns admired features of large surface area and pore volume,enriched Mn4+and chemisorbed oxygen species originating from enhanced interaction between MnOxand CeO2,as well as improved adsorption capacity to NH3and *** these factors contribute to activity *** in-situ DRIFTS studies reveal that the improvement of NH3-SCR performance over MnCeAI-DP is related to the formation of abundant nitrate species,which is beneficial to the "NH4NO3" reaction pathway and thus enhances low-temperature activity.
