Purpose:The purpose was to explore the experiences of nurses caring for patients with delirium in ICU in ***:Semi-structured qualitative interviews were conducted with 14 ICU nurses in Beijing,*** recordings of the transcripts were coded and analysed ***:The emergent themes reflected clearly similar experiences and were titled as follows:Internal and external barriers to care;Care burden:workload,psychological pressure and injury;Dilemmas in decision-making:balancing risks and ***:The results of this qualitative study have provided a rich description of the perceptions of a sample of nurses caring for patients with dementia in ***,the nurses suffered from their work experiences in several aspects:they lacked the knowledge and skills required assessing and managing the patients as early as possible;they were physically and psychologically stressed while looking after the patients and faced with dilemmas and compromises in their decision-making.

There are few population-based data in investigating the impact of diabetes on chemotherapy adverse effects and treatment outcomes of non-metastatic breast cancer. The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether diabetes affects the patterns of use in chemotherapy, toxic effects of chemotherapy, and treatment outcomes for non-metastatic breast cancer in Taiwan. The study results can provide physicians for making a decision whether or not to use chemotherapy based on the individual patients＇ condition.

Photodynamic therapy （PDT） is one of the latest biomedical technologies used for treatment of various neoplastic and non-neoplastic diseases. However, there still exist some well-known problems regarding its efficacy, e.g. effective concentra- tion of the drug at the desired sites, the irradiation light dosimetry and biocompatibility of the photosensitizer. The introduction of nanotechnology and nanomaterial like biocompatible nano-titania （i.e., nano-TiO2） may facilitate to solve some of these problems. In this study we have explored the possibility of combining tetra sulphonatophenyl porphyrin （TSPP） with nano-titania （PT） for efficient PDT with least adverse effects. The spectroscopic properties of these nano-cornposites were characterized by using fluorescence and UV-Vis absorption spectroscopic study. The singlet oxygen quantum yield was deter- mined by using 2,5-diphenyl-3,4-benzofuran （DPBF）, while the effect of nano TiO2 with TSPP on the synovial fibroblast cells from human （HSC） and rat models （RSC） were investigated by confocal laser microscopy and 3-（4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl）- 2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide （MTT） assay. Our results suggest that nano TiO2 with TSPP can be readily utilized for effec- tive PDT treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis （RA）.

The field of horizontally polarized ultrasonic shear wave radiated by a 2/2 piezoelectric composite normal probe was studied. The strictly analytic field solutions for two different surface forces were deduced and the field distribution and directivity patterns were given by numerical calculations. The vertical radiated field of shear wave was obtained theoretically and compared with experiment. The experimental result of directivity pattern conformed the theoretical prediction, which provided the theoretical basis for the engineering application of the transducer.

There are five wild populations of Cycas fairylakea in Guangdong Province,China,three of which are newly found.A study of the biological characteristics of *** populations showed that this species had a narrow colonization area within 300 hm^(2),and an island pattern of *** of the overexploitation,urbanization,environment pollution,plant diseases,and insect pests,the wild populations and individuals of *** decreased markedly in the past *** five populations have an opposite pyramid age structure,few coning plants,few seed production,and low level of seed germination rate or *** conclusion,*** in Guangdong Province was threatened seriously and an urgent need to take effective efforts to protect the plants and habitats in its location sites was required.
