B_(4)C–TiB_(2)is an advanced electrically conductive ceramic with excellent mechanical and electrical discharge machinable *** is challenging and rewarding to achieve highly conductive and hard B_(4)C–TiB_(2)composites at a minimum content of conductive TiB2 that has inferior hardness but double specific gravity of the B_(4)C matrix.A novel strategy was used to construct conductive networks in B_(4)C‒15 vol%TiB2 composite ceramics with B_(4)C,TiC,and amorphous B as raw materials by a two-step spark plasma sintering *** influences of particle size matching between B_(4)C and TiC on the conducting of the strategy and the microstructure were discussed based on the selective matrix grain growth *** mechanical and electrical properties were also systematically *** B_(4)C–15 vol%TiB2 composite ceramic prepared from 10.29µm B_(4)C and 0.05µm TiC powders exhibited a perfect three-dimensional interconnected conductive network with a maximum electrical conductivity of 4.25×10^(4)S/m,together with excellent mechanical properties including flexural strength,Vickers hardness,and fracture toughness of 691±58 MPa,30.30±0.61 GPa,and 5.75±0.32 MPa·m^(1/2),respectively,while the composite obtained from 3.12µm B_(4)C and 0.8µm TiC powders had the best mechanical properties including flexural strength,Vickers hardness,and fracture toughness of 827±35 MPa,32.01±0.51 GPa,and 6.45±0.22 MPa·m^(1/2),together with a decent electrical conductivity of 0.65×10^(4)S/m.

The transition metal complexes of triaminoguanidine(TAG-M,where M=Cobalt(Co)or Iron(Fe))have been *** catalytic effect of these complexes on the thermolysis of energetic composite based on nitrocellulose and diethylene glycol dinitrate,has been *** characterization of the resulting energetic composites was carried out using scanning electron microscopy(SEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),and differential scanning calorimetry(DSC).Isoconversional kinetic analysis was performed to determine the Arrhenius parameters associated with the thermolysis of the elaborated energetic *** is found that TAG-M complexes have strong catalytic effect on the thermo-kinetic decomposition of NC/DEGDN by decreasing the apparent activation energy and significantly increased the total heat *** models that govern the decomposition processes are also studied,and it is revealed that different reaction processes are accomplished by introduction metal complexes of ***,this study serves as a valuable reference for future research focused on the investigation of catalytic combustion features of solid propellants.

Yarn-based flexible strain sensors with advantages in wearability and integrability have attracted wide ***,it is still a big challenge to achieve yarn-based strain sensors with a wide linear strain range,low hysteresis,and durability synchronously that can be used for full range detection of human body ***,a new structure,double-threaded conductive yarn with rhythmic strain distribu-tion,is reported to markedly widen the linear strain range of microcrack-based stretchable strain sensors.A new method of winding and thermally adhering hot-melt filaments on the surface of the elastic fiber is used to achieve double-threaded yarn(DTY)with rhythmic strain *** proposed strategy,the integration of heterogeneous materials,is reported to significantly reduce the mechanical hysteresis of composite *** strain distribution of the DTY during stretching causes multi-level micro-cracks in different regions of the carbon nanotube(CNT)conductive layer deposited on the surface of the ***,the sensing performance of DTY-based strain sensor can be adjusted by designing the structural *** final prepared flexible strain sensor has the advantages of a wide linear strain range(100%),great sensitivity(GF=12.43),low hysteresis,rapid response(158 ms),high repeatability(>2000 cycles at 50%strain),and hydrophobicity,*** sensor can monitor human motion repeatedly and stably well,and shows great advantages in flexible wearable devices.

The continued expansion of the world population,increasingly inconsistent climate and shrinking agricultural resources present major challenges to crop ***,the increasing ability to discover and manipulate genes creates new opportunities to develop more productive and resilient *** genes have been described in papers as being beneficial for yield ***,few of them have been translated into increased yield on *** contrast,commercial breeders are facing gene decidophobia,i.e.,puzzled about which gene to choose for breeding among the many identified,a huge chasm between gene discovery and cultivar *** purpose of this paper is to draw attention to the shortfalls in current gene discovery research and to emphasise the need to align with cultivar *** methodology dictates that genetic studies not only focus on gene discovery but also pay good attention to the genetic backgrounds,experimental validation in relevant environments,appropriate crop management,and data *** close of the gaps should accelerate the application of molecular study in breeding and contribute to future global food security.

Direct air capture(DAC)of CO_(2)plays an indispensable role in achieving carbon-neutral goals as one of the key negative emission *** large air flows are required to capture the ultradilute CO_(2)from the air,lab-synthesized adsorbents in powder form may cause unacceptable gas pressure drops and poor heat and mass transfer efficiencies.A structured adsorbent is essential for the implementation of gas-solid contactors for cost-and energy-efficient DAC *** this study,efficient adsorbent poly(ethyleneimine)(PEI)-functionalized Mg-Al-CO_(3)layered double hydroxide(LDH)-derived mixed metal oxides(MMOs)are three-dimensional(3D)printed into monoliths for the first time with more than 90%adsorbent *** printing process has been optimized by initially printing the LDH powder into monoliths followed by calcination into MMO *** structure exhibits a 32.7%higher specific surface area and a 46.1%higher pore volume,as compared to the direct printing of the MMO powder into a *** impregnation of PEI,the monolith demonstrates a large adsorption capacity(1.82 mmol/g)and fast kinetics(0.7 mmol/g/h)using a CO_(2)feed gas at 400 ppm at 25℃,one of the highest values among the shaped DAC *** of the amino-polymers during the post-printing process affects the diffusion of CO_(2),resulting in slower adsorption kinetics of pre-impregnation monoliths compared to post-impregnation *** optimal PEI/MeOH ratio for the post-impregnation solution prevents pores clogging that would affect both adsorption capacity and kinetics.

The Central and Southern South China Sea(CSSCS) has a complex tectonic dynamic background and abundant oil and gas resources, which has always been a hot topic of academic and industrial ***, systematic analyses are still lacking regarding its sediment filling structure and evolution, mostly due to limited borehole penetration and poor quality of seismic reflection data for deeply buried sequences. No consensus has been reached yet on the sedimentary infilling processes, which impeded the reconstruction of the palaeogeography of Southeast Asia and the oil-and-gas exploration undertakings. Here, we illustrate the Cenozoic sedimentary evolution of the CSSCS region by synthesizing relevant data from previous literature and our own observations and displaying the evolution of depositional systems in sequential reconstructions. Besides, the controlling factors of preferred sedimentary scenarios in the CSSCS incorporate the latest interpretations of the spreading of South China Sea(SCS) as well as the demise of the hypothetical Proto-South China Sea(PSCS). The results show that there are three types of sedimentary basins in the CSSCS(foreland,strike-slip, and rift basins) with different sedimentary filling structures. The foreland basins formed a depositional pattern of ‘transition from deep water to shallow water environments', dominated by deep-water depositional systems which were formed before the Early Oligocene with submarine fans developed. Later,the foreland basins were gradually dominated by shallow-water depositional systems with deltas and shallow marine facies. The strike-slip basins showed the depositional architecture of ‘transition from lake to marine environments', i.e. the basins were dominated by lacustrine deposits during the Eocene and evolved into the marine depositional environment since Oligocene with delta developed in the western part of the basin. During storage at 20℃,specific pear cultivars may exhibit a greasy texture and decline in quality due to fruit *** these varieties,‘Yuluxiang’is particularly susceptible to peel greasiness,resulting in significant economic ***,there is an urgent need for a preservative that can effectively inhibit the development of *** studies have demonstrated the efficacy of 1-methylcyclopropene(1-MCP)in extending the storage period of *** hypothesize that it may also influence the occurrence of postharvest peel greasiness in the‘Yuluxiang’*** this study,we treated‘Yuluxiang’pears with *** stored them at 20℃while analyzing the composition and morphology of the surface waxes,recording enzyme activities related to wax synthesis,and measuring indicators associated with fruit storage quality and physiological *** results demonstrate that prolonged storage at 20℃leads to a rapid increase in skin greasiness,consistent with the observed elevations in L^(*),greasiness score,and the content of total wax and greasy wax ***,there were indications that cuticular waxes underwent melting,resulting in the formation of an amorphous *** comparison to controls,the application of 1-MCP significantly inhibited increments in L^(*) values as well as grease scores while also reducing accumulation rates for oily waxes throughout most stages over its shelf period,additionally delaying transitions from flaky-wax structures towards their amorphous *** the initial 7 d of storage,several enzymes involved in the biosynthesis and metabolism of greasy wax components,including lipoxygenase(LOX),phospholipase D(PLD),andβ-ketoacyl-CoA synthase(KCS),exhibited an increase followed by a subsequent *** activity of LOX during early shelf life(0–7 d)and the KCS activity during middle to late shelf life(14–21 d)were significantly suppressed by ***,1-MCP effectively maintained firmness,
