Analysis on Relationship between Overcast and Rainy Weather, Drought, Flood and Wheat Yield

[Objective] The research aimed to study influence of meteorological factor in late growth stage of wheat. [Method] Based on precipitation, sunshine and yield per unit of wheat in Anyang City in May of 1979-2008, the positive and negative influences of meteorological condition in late growth stage of wheat (May) on wheat yield in Anyang City were analyzed by using agricultural climatic statistical method. Moreover, the reason and defense measure of green-dry hazard in late growth stage of wheat in the city were studied. [Result] When the sunshine percentage in May > 55%, and rainfall 80 mm, and monthly sunshine percentage < 55%, the wheat yield generally reduced. The overcast and rainy weather, flood in late growth stage of wheat were easy to cause green-dry yield reduction. The rainless weather even drought weren’t obviously unfavorable for good harvest of wheat. In May, when precipitation was too more, or duration was too long, and the air humidity was too big, the normal water supply and inorganic nutrient transmission were affected. Meanwhile, when the overcast and rainy weather was longer, the sunshine was shorter, and the sunshine intensity weakened in late stage, it wasn’t favorable for accumulation of photosynthetic product, and the normal implementing of grouting process was affected. The measures should be used to prevent and control green-dry yield reduction of wheat, such as discharging water and preventing flood, breeding good seed, scientific planting and reasonable irrigation. [Conclusion] The research provided scientific basis for studying variety improvement, scientific plantation, reasonable irrigation, good quality and high yield of wheat.

Spatial Distribution and Temporal Variation of the Winter Wheat Late Frost Disaster in henan,China

The winter wheat late frost disaster（WFD） occurs mainly in the Yellow and Huaihe River area,of which henan province covers the most *** is the major area of wheat production in China,but it is severely hit by the *** this study,we construct a WFD index based on the minimum temperature and the winter wheat development period（WDP）.The WFD degrees and days at 30 agrometeorological stations in henan province during the period of 1981-2004 are *** the large-scale temporal variation analysis of WFD,the 24-yr WDP observation series is relatively short,so it is expanded by using the relation between the turning green date of winter wheat and the 5-day running mean temperature and that between the stem elongation phase and the effective cumulative temperature above a critical value of 2.5 ℃.The WFD data are also expanded for the last 50 years and are analyzed by using the empirical orthogonal function（EOF） and the Morlet wavelet *** in the spatial distribution and temporal variation of WFD are *** results show that the frequency of WFD is generally high,exceeding 40% in parts of henan,and exhibits a rising trend in the period of *** variation trend of WFD degrees is similar to that of WFD days,and the areas with higher WFD degrees coincide the areas with more WFD ***,the WFD degree has a greater impact on the winter wheat yield than the WFD *** areas with high WFD degrees lie in the southeast and southwest of henan,and the areas with low WFD degrees lie in the south of the Huaihe River and parts of western *** variations of the first and second EOF modes of the WFD degree display 16-and quasi-22-yr periodicities,*** areas of high（low） WFD frequency are distributed in the northern henan and the southwest border of henan（the northeast henan and the middle part of southwest henan）.The temporal variation of the first（second） EOF mode of WFD days exhibits a periodicity（periodicities

Analysis on Causes of Haze Formation and Prevention of Environmental Pollution in Puyang

Based on data of haze days observed by Puyang meteorological Station of henan province from 1971 to 2012, climatic characteristics, causes and prevention countermeasures of haze in Puyang were discussed. The results showed that annual average haze days in Puyang tended to increase slightly over the past 42 years on the whole, and the increasing trend became obvious since the 1990s. Meanwhile, haze days in Puyang showed an obvious seasonal variation, that is, haze mainly appeared in autumn （from September to November） and winter （from December to next February）, and it was the most frequent in winter. Haze formation was closely related to meteorological and environment elements. Increase of calm wind in horizontal direction, inversion layer in vertical direction, and increase of suspended particulate matter could lead to aggregation of air pollutants, so that haze days increased. Some countermeasures against haze pollution, such as controlling pollution sources, limiting discharge of vehicle exhaust and industrial gases, and increasing green area, should be adopted to reduce haze harm to air quality and human health.

Analysis of the Relationship between Vertical Distribution of Four Automatic Stations and Local Precipitation in Taihang Mountain of Linzhou

[ Objective] The reseamh aimed to analyze the relationship between vertical distribution of four automatic stations and local precipitation in Taihang Mountain of Linzhou. [ Method] Using mesoscale detection and statistical data of the automatic stations in henan, the geographical distribution of the precipitation affected by underlying surface in mountainous area of Linzhou was analyzed. [ Result] Surface mesoscale wind field convergence line formed by thermal action of inhomogeneous underlying surface and mountainous terrain and upward movement played the strengthening role to the low-level jet. They affected formation and development of strong convective weather. The geographic distribution of precipitation in mountainous area was highly affected by the terrain, and rainfall, precipitation days and intensity in mountainous area were significantly greater than that in the surrounding hills region. In particular, rainfall on the windward slope significantly increased, and rainfall increased as mountain height within a certain height. [ Conclusion] Hourly ground data analysis at automatic stations had very good forecast indication role in formation, development and dissipation of heavy rain in mountainous areas.

Diagnostic Analysis on a Regional Rainstorm Weather in North-central henan province

[Objective] The research aimed to analyze a regional rainstorm weather process in north-central henan province. [Method] Based on the conventional meteorological observation data and the rainfall data of henan meteorological Station, the diagnostic analysis of atmospheric thermodynamics and dynamics on a rainstorm weather process in north-central henan province on July 19, 2010 was carried out. The characteristics of physical quantity field and the evolution of weather situation in north-central henan province when the rainstorm happened were studied. [Result] Western Pacific subtropical high strengthened to extend westward. The dynamic uplifting of low vortex at the middle and low layers, the strong water vapor transportation of southwest low-level jet caused the regional rainstorm weather process in north-central henan province. The diagnostic results of physical quantity showed that the deep, thick wet layer and the sustained water vapor convergence provided the abundant water vapor for rainstorm generation. The positive vorticity advection center developed and spread from northwest to southeast, which was favorable for the development of vertical movement. The structure maintenance of positive vorticity at the middle and low layers, negative vorticity at the middle and high levels provided the power condition for the regional rainstorm generation. The pumping effect of convergence at the middle and low layers, divergence at the high layer was favorable for the strengthening of vertical ascending motion at the low layer. The uplifting effect of dew point front at the middle and low layers triggered the release of unstable energy. The confrontation of warm and cold air was one of the important reasons for the regional rainstorm. TBB characteristic analysis showed that TBB was from -60 to -50 ℃ in north-central henan province in the whole strong precipitation time, and the moving speed was equivalent to that of southwest vortex. A detailed study on the clay minerals from the working area was carried out through multiple methods,including X-ray diffraction, infrared absorption, DTA and TG, TEM and SEM, Mossbauer spectrometry,electron paramagnetic resonance and wet chemical analysis. Cookeite was discovered in the area for thefirst time. The determination of REE, Li, Nb, Ta and Sc in various ores and rocks as well as in variousclay minerals and their associations, and the cation exchange experiments (soaking experiments) carried outin various electrolyte solutions and designed for judging whether Li is in adsorption state indicate (i)clay minerals contain highest REE, and (ii) Li exists mainly in its own mineral-cookeite.

Primary Report on Influences of the meteorological Factors on High-quality Summer Millet Production in North henan province

[ Objective] The research aimed to study influences of meteorological factors on high-quality summer millet production in north henan province. [ Method] By using summer millet yield and corresponding meteorological data in Anyang of henan, influence of rainfall on yield of new high-quality summer millet vadety during 2003 -2012 was analyzed. [Result]Rainfall during May -July had the maximum influence on summer millet yield. Correlation regression equation was Y = 0.738 8X ＋ 159.991 （ R = 0.982 04）, reaching extremely significant level. [ Conclusion ] The re- search could provide scientific basis for sufficiently using local meteorological condition, breeding high-quality summer millet variety and its high yield.

A Study on a Heavy Rainfall Event Triggered by an Inverted Typhoon Trough in Shandong province

A heavy rainfall event that occurred in Shandong province in 26 28 August 2004 was caused mainly by Typhoon Acre and cold air activities related to a westerly trough. The event was triggered by an inverted typhoon trough, which was closely associated with the intensification of the low-level southeasterly flow and the northward transport of heat and momentum in the periphery of the typhoon low. A numerical simulation of this event is performed using the nonhydrostatic mesoscale model MM5 with two-way interactive and triply-nested grids, and the structure of the inverted typhoon trough is studied. Furthermore, the formation and development mechanism of the inverted typhoon trough and a mesoscale vortex are discussed through a vorticity budget analysis. The results show that the heavy rainfall was induced by the strong convergence between the strong and weak winds within the inverted typhoon trough. Dynamic effects of the low-level jet and the diabatic heating of precipitation played an important role in the development of the inverted typhoon trough and the formation of the mesoscale vortex. The vorticity budget analysis suggests that the divergence term in the low troposphere, the horizontal advection term, and the convection term in the middle troposphere were main contributors to positive vorticity. Nonetheless, at the same pressure level, the effect of the divergence term and that of the adveetion term were opposite to each other. In the middle troposphere, the vertical transport term made a positive contribution while the tilting term made a negative contribution, and the total vorticity tendency was the net result of their counteractions. It is found that the change tendency of the relative vorticity was not uniform horizontally. A strong positive vorticity tendency occurred in the southeast of the mesoscale vortex, which is why the heavy rainfall was concentrated there.
