Smoke and NO_(x)emission characteristics of in-use construction machinery base on substantial field measurement:A case study in Beijing,China

To understand the smoke level and NO_(x)emission characteristics of in-use construction machinery in Beijing,we selected 905 construction machines in Beijing from August 2022 to April 2023 to monitor the emission level of smoke and NO_(x).The exhaust smoke level and excessive emission situation of different machinery types were identified,and their NO_(x)emission levels were monitored according to the free acceleration *** investigated the correlation of NO_(x)and smoke emission,and proposed suggestions for controlling pollution discharge from construction machinery in the *** results show that the exhaust smoke level was 0–2.62 m^(−1),followed a log-normal distribution(μ=-1.73,δ=1.09,R^(2)=0.99),with a 5.64%exceedance *** observed amongmachinery types,with low-power engine forklifts showing higher smoke *** NO_(x)emission range was 71–1516 ppm,followed a normal distribution(μ=565.54,δ=309.51,R^(2)=0.83).Differences among machinery types were relatively *** rated net power had the most significant impact on NO_(x)***,NO_(x)emissions from construction machinery need further ***,we found a weak negative correlation(p<0.05)between the emission level of smoke and NO_(x),that is the synergic emission reduction effect is poor,emphasizing the need for NO_(x)emission *** the future,the oversight in Beijing should prioritize phasing out ChinaⅠand ChinaⅡmachinery,and monitor emissions from highpower engine ChinaⅢmachinery.

The remaining useful life prediction of rolling bearing is vital in safety and reliability *** engineering scenarios,only a small amount of bearing performance degradation data can be obtained through accelerated life *** the absence of lifetime data,the hidden long-term correlation between performance degradation data is challenging to mine effectively,which is the main factor that restricts the prediction precision and engineering application of the residual life prediction *** address this problem,a novel method based on the multi-layer perception neural network and bidirectional long short-term memory network is ***,a nonlinear health indicator(HI)calculation method based on kernel principal component analysis(KPCA)and exponential weighted moving average(EWMA)is ***,using the raw vibration data and HI,a multi-layer perceptron(MLP)neural network is trained to further calculate the HI of the online bearing in real ***,The bidirectional long short-term memory model(BiLSTM)optimized by particle swarm optimization(PSO)is used to mine the time series features of HI and predict the remaining service *** verification experiments and comparative experiments are carried out on the XJTU-SY bearing open *** research results indicate that this method has an excellent ability to predict future HI and remaining life.

Objective To examine the mechanistic of organochlorine-associated changes in lung *** This study investigated 76 healthy older adults in jinan,Shandong Province,over a fivemonth *** exposure to organochlorines was quantified using wearable passive samplers,while inflammatory factors and thyroid hormones were analyzed from blood ***’lung function was *** stratifying participants according to their thyroid hormone levels,we analyzed the differential effects of organochlorine exposure on lung function and inflammatory factors across the low and high thyroid hormone *** analysis was further conducted to elucidate the relationships among organochlorine exposures,inflammatory factors,and lung *** Bis(2-chloro-1-methylethyl)ether(BCIE),was negatively associated with forced vital capacity(FVC,–2.05%,95%CI:–3.11%to–0.97%),and associated with changes in inflammatory factors such as interleukin(IL)-2,IL-7,IL-8,and IL-13 in the low thyroid hormone *** mediation analysis indicated a mediating effect of IL-2(15.63%,95%CI:0.91%to 44.64%)and IL-13(13.94%,95%CI:0.52%to 41.07%)in the association between BCIE exposure and *** Lung function and inflammatory factors exhibited an increased sensitivity to organochlorine exposure at lower thyroid hormone levels,with inflammatory factors potentially mediating the adverse effects of organochlorines on lung function.

Thermodynamic modeling is still themostwidely usedmethod to characterize aerosol acidity,a critical physicochemical property of atmospheric ***,it remains unclear whether gas-aerosol partitioning should be incorporated when thermodynamicmodels are employed to estimate the acidity of coarse *** this work,field measurements were conducted at a coastal city in northern China across three seasons,and covered wide ranges of temperature,relative humidity and NH_(3) *** examined the performance of different modes of ISORROPIA-II(a widely used aerosol thermodynamic model)in estimating aerosol acidity of coarse and fine *** M0 mode,which incorporates gas-phase data and runs the model in the forward mode,provided reasonable estimation of aerosol acidity for coarse and fine *** to M0,the M1 mode,which runs the model in the forward mode but does not include gas-phase data,may capture the general trend of aerosol acidity but underestimates pH for both coarse and fine particles;M2,which runs the model in the reverse mode,results in large errors in estimated aerosol pH for both coarse and fine particles and should not be used for aerosol acidity ***,M1 significantly underestimates liquid water contents for both fine and coarse particles,while M2 provides reliable estimation of liquid water *** summary,our work highlights the importance of incorporating gas-aerosol partitioning when estimating coarse particle acidity,and thus may help improve our understanding of acidity of coarse particles.

Pollution of HCHs,DDTs and PCBs in tidal flat of Hangzhou Bay 2009–2013

The concentration and distribution of three persistent organic pollutants （hexachlorocyclohexanes （HCHs）, dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethanes （DDTs） and polyehlorinated biphenyls （PCBs）） was assessed in tidal fiat sediments collected from the south bank of Hangzhou Bay, China from 2009 to 2013. Gas chromatography coupled to triple quadrupole mass spectrometry （GC-MS/MS） was used for analysis, based on United States Environmental Protection Agency methods EPAS080A, EPA8081B, and EPA3550B. The results showed that the levels of HCHs, DDTs and PCBs decreased in the order of DDTs 〉 HCHs 〉 PCBs, and their mass fractions ranged from 0.29-32.91, 0.09-13.19 and 0.16-4.10 ktg/kg （dry mass）, respectively. The levels of HCHs, DDTs and PCBs decreased slowly from 2009 to 2013, with considerably greater concentrations in winter than in spring and summer. In this study area, the concentrations of DDTs and HCHs decreased gradually towards the mouth of Hangzhou Bay, while the concentrations of PCBs were related to changes in the local economy. In addition, the sources of HCHs and DDTs were identified as atmospheric precipitation and historical residues, Finally, we predicted that PCBs pollution primarily originated from Aroclor 1254（Lot A4）, which might root in the illegal demolition and stacking of abandoned paint, transformer or electronic equipment in the south bank of Hangzhou Bay.

Profiles,exposure assessment and expanded screening of PAHs and their derivatives in one petroleum refinery facility of China

This study investigated environmental distribution and human exposure of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)and their derivatives in one Chinese petroleum refinery *** was found that,following with high concentrations of 16 EPA PAHs(∑Parent-PAHs)in smelting subarea of studied petroleum refinery facility,total derivatives of PAHs[named as XPAHs,including nitro PAHs(NPAHs),chlorinated PAHs(Cl-PAHs),and brominated PAHs(Br-PAHs)]in gas(mean=1.57×10^(4)ng/m^(3)),total suspended particulate(TSP)(mean=4.33×10^(3) ng/m^(3))and soil(mean=4.37×10^(3) ng/g)in this subarea had 1.76-6.19 times higher levels than those from other subareas of this facility,surrounding residential areas and reference areas,indicating that petroleum refining processes would lead apparent derivation of ***,compared with those in residential and reference areas,gas samples in the petrochemical areas had higher∑NPAH/∑PAHs(mean=2.18),but lower∑Cl-PAH/∑PAHs(mean=1.43×10^(-1))and∑Br-PAH/∑PAHs ratios(mean=7.49×10^(-2)),indicating the richer nitrification of PAHs than chlorination during petrochemical *** occupational exposure to PAHs and XPAHs in this petroleum refinery facility were 24-343 times higher than non-occupational exposure,and the ILCR(1.04×10^(-4))for petrochemical workers was considered to be potential high ***,one expanded high-resolution screening through GC Orbitrap/MS was performed for soils from petrochemical area,and another 35 PAHs were found,including alkyl-PAHs,phenyl-PAHs and other species,indicat-ing that profiles and risks of PAHs analogs in petrochemical areas deserve further expanded investigation.
