Photovoltaic Properties of Titanium Dioxide Nanowires with Different Crystal Structures

Titanium dioxide（TiO2） nanowires with different crystal structures were successfully synthesized, and their charge transfer properties were further investigated by surface photovoltage（SPV）, transient photovoltage（TPV） and surface photoeurrent（SPC） techniques. The results reveal that both the surface states and the charge transfer rate of different TiO2 nanowires are highly dependent on their crystal structures.

Pd/TiO2 Nanospheres with Three-dimensional Hyperstructure for Enhanced Photodegradation of Organic Dye

Pd/TiO2 nanospheres assembled from nanorods with three-dimensional hyperstructure for enlianced photodegradation of organic dye was prepared by a sample solvothemial method. Further, it was used for degradation of methyl orange(MO) under the illumination of visible-light(simulated).The results show that Pd/TiO2 with 2%(mass fraction) Pd exhibits the noticeable activity in photodegrading of *** detailed analysis shows that this enhancement is attributed to the reduction of the rate of electron-hole recombination and surface plasmon resonance of Pd. The high activity and good stability of the obtained Pd/TiO2 nano spheres make it a promising photocatalyst for solving the environmental pollution problems.

Synergism of Pt nanoparticles and iron oxide support for chemoselective hydrogenation of nitroarenes under mild conditions

An efficient and low-cost supported Pt catalyst for hydrogenation of niroarenes was prepared with colloid Pt precursors andα-Fe2O3 as a *** catalyst with Pt content as low as 0.2 wt%exhibits high activities,chemoselectivities and stability in the hydrogenation of nitrobenzene and a variety of *** conversion of nitrobenzene can reach 3170 molconv h^–1 molPt^–1 under mild conditions(30°C,5 bar),which is much higher than that of commercial Pt/C catalyst and many reported catalysts under similar reaction *** spatial separation of the active sites for H2 dissociation and hydrogenation should be responsible for the high chemoselectivity,which decreases the contact possibility between the reducible groups of nitroarenes and Pt *** unique surface properties ofα-Fe2O3 play an important role in the reaction *** provides active sites for hydrogen spillover and reactant adsorption,and ultimately completes the hydrogenation of the nitro group on the catalyst surface.
