As an important atmospheric circulation system in the mid-high latitudes of East Asia,the Northeast China cold vortex(NCCV)substantially influences weather and climate in this *** far,systematic assessment on the performance of numerical prediction of the NCCVs has not been carried *** on the Beijing Climate Centre(BCC)and the ECMWF model hindcast and forecast data that participated in the Sub-seasonal to Seasonal(S2S)Prediction Project,this study systematically examines the performance of both models in simulating and forecasting the NCCVs at the sub-seasonal *** results demonstrate that the two models can effectively capture the seasonal variations in the intensity,active days,and spatial distribution of NCCVs;however,the duration of NCCVs is shorter and the intensity is weaker in the models than in the *** analysis shows that the differences in the intensity and location of the East Asian subtropical westerly jet and the wave train pattern from North Atlantic to East Asia may be responsible for the deficient simulation of NCCV events in the S2S ***,in the deterministic forecasts,BCC and ECMWF provide skillful prediction on the anomalous numbers of NCCV days and intensity at a lead time of 4-5(5-6)pentads,and the skill limit of the ensemble mean is 1-2 pentads longer than that of individual *** the probabilistic forecasts of daily NCCV activities,BCC and ECMWF exhibit a forecasting skill of approximately 7 and 11 days,respectively;both models show seasonal dependency in the simulation performance and forecast skills of NCCV events,with better performance in winter than in *** results from this study provide helpful references for further improvement of the S2S prediction of NCCVs.

Gastrodin (GAS)， the principal bioactive composition of Gastrodia elata Blume， has potential for pharmaceutical applications. Several studies in recent years have shown that GAS may enhance neurotrophic benefits， reduce inflammation， and act as an antioxidant. In this study， we sought to identify the molecular mechanisms underlying the protective benefits of GAS against colitis induced by dextran sodium sulfate (DSS) in mice. GAS (200 mg/kg) significantly ameliorated the severity of colitis in mice caused by DSS， as evidenced by an increase in colon length， a reduction in disease activity index， a decrease in tissue damage， and a reduction in body weight loss. Additionally， GAS inhibited DSS-induced hyperactivation of inflammation-related NF-κB signaling pathways to reduce the production of inflammatory mediators， thereby mitigating the inflammatory response in mice. Furthermore， the administration of GAS restored the function of the gastrointestinal barrier by increasing the count of goblet cells， as well as the levels of tight junction-associated proteins， including ZO-1， Occludin， and Claudin-3. GAS also influenced the overall richness of the gut microbiota， as shown by 16S rRNA sequencing analysis， consequently boosting the proliferative rate of probiotic species， such as Lachnospiraceae and Muribaculaceae， while reducing the richness of harmful bacteria including Escherichia＿Shigella， Enterobacteriaceae， Bacteroidaceae， and Bacteroides. GAS (200 mg/kg) alleviated ulcerative colitis (UC) by modulating gut dysbiosis， as demonstrated by a fecal microbial transplantation (FMT) test. Furthermore， inflammatory damage induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) was averted in RAW264.7 cells by GAS administration， hence preventing the NF-κB signaling pathway from being activated in these experimental conditions conducted in vitro. Twenty broadband seismographs were deployed along Hongyuan, Sichuan to Wuwei, Gansu. 81 teleseismic events were recorded in one year. We computed receiver functions from teleseismic waveform data and obtained S wave velocity structure beneath each station along the profile by using receiver function inversion method. The results revealed that the crustal structure is very complex and crustal average S wave velocity is to be on the low side. Low velocity structure generally exists in the depth range of 10～40 km in the crust between Aba arc fault and northern edge fault of Qinling earth＇s axis and it is a tectonic feature of complex geological process such as ancient A＇nyemaqen Tethys ocean from closing and side colliding to subducted plate exhumed or thrust rock slice lifted. The Moho is about 50 km depth along the profile and is slightly deeper in the south than in the north.

BACKGROUND Tinnitus affects 10%-30%of the *** evidence suggests that tinnitus is associated with spleen ***,compared with kidney deficiency-related tinnitus,less research has been conducted on the impact of spleen defi-ciency-related *** To investigate the clinical efficacy of using Guipi Wan and dietary and lifestyle modification based on traditional Chinese medicine for treatment of patients with spleen and stomach deficiency-related *** We enrolled 110 patients with spleen and stomach deficiency-related tinnitus who were distributed into treatment(58 cases)and control(52 cases)*** severity,sleep quality and emotional state were assessed by questionnaires[Tinnitus Evaluation Questionnaire(TEQ);Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI);Depression-Anxiety-Stress Scale-21(DASS-21)]that were used for analysis in the two groups during the initial and intervention and *** the treatment group,patients were treated with oral administration of Guipi Wan and consulted for healthy dietary and lifestyle *** the control group,patients were only assessed and not *** At the end of the 6-months,TEQ scores decreased significantly in the treatment group(P=0.021)but not in the Control *** effects in the treatment group were noted for PSQI total score(P=0.043)and several PSQI component scores in the treatment group(P<0.05).After treatment,the DASS-21 scores were significantly reduced in the treatment group(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Guipi Wan combined with dietary and lifestyle modification based on regulating the spleen and stomach can be considered core to the treatment of tinnitus related to spleen and stomach deficiency.

We report the oxide,element geochemistry and Nd isotopic geochemical data of apatite in the middle Pleistocene medium-and fine-grained trachyte in the Tianchi volcanic area(TVA)of Changbai Mountain,discussing the relationship between apatite and the composition of the whole *** purpose is to use the apatite geochemical data to constrain the evolutionary process of trachytic magma and the petrogenesis of trachyte in the cone-forming period of the Tianchi ***(Ca_(5)(PO_(4))_(3)(OH,F,Cl))is a common accessory mineral that occurs widely in volcanic rocks in the *** apatites in the trachyte are mainly subhedral-anhedral,having the characteristics of magmatic *** terms of oxide and element geochemistry,they have homogeneous Al_(2)O_(3),SiO_(2),MgO,P_(2)O_(5),K_(2)O,CaO and heterogeneous TiO2,with high F *** are generally enriched in Th,U and LREEs,depleted in Nb,Ta,Zr,Hf and HFSEs,showing negative Ba,Sr and Ti anomalies,similar to those of the whole-rock host *** ratios of high(La/Yb)_(N),low δEu(Eu/Eu*),Sr/Y value and ΣREE content in apatite,and the F,Sr,Y,Th/U,La/Sm,and Nd/Tb with ΣREE andδEu anomalies showed a linear correlation,all of those indicating that the host magma has the characteristic of high *** apatite grains generally having ^(147)Sm/^(144)Nd,^(143)Nd/^(144)Nd ratios and ε_(Nd)(t)values of 0.1072-0.1195,0.5123-0.5126 and -3.49 to -0.10,respectively,are similiar to those of the host *** Nd model ages TDM1 are 949-803 Ma in *** with theεNd(t)value of the apatite core(-7.06 to-3.49),we conclude that the initial magma of the host trachyte was derived from the partial melting of Proterozoic crustal material and there was an assimilation of wall rocks during its evolution.

Simulation of the water level influence on the difference within the water-tube tiltmeter in Shuangyang Lake

This article analyzes the relationship between the water level and the water-tube tilting in Shuangyang lake,based on the differential deformation features reflected by the NS and EW components of the water-tube *** results show a good spatiotemporal consistency between the variation of water level and the NS tilt component,which is considered to be affected by the magnitude and duration of the water level variation in Shuangyang *** article uses Landsat remote sensing image data to extract the water boundary of Shuan-gyang Lake,and takes advantage of the finite element numerical simulation method to build three-dimensional models for different geological structural conditions of the Shuangyang *** simulation results show that when the underground medium is granite,the effect of water level variation on the vertical displacement of the surface is *** a 50-m soil layer in Model 2,the simulated NS tilt variation is equivalent to the actual observed water-tube tiltmeter NS component when the water level variation is 0.44 m and *** the variation of water level reaches 2.0m,the simulation result of the NS component is 79.6 ms,which is slightly larger than the observed result of 60.32 ***,the simulation results show that the variation of the EW component is significantly smaller than that of the NS *** to the fact that the Shuan-gyang lake is long in the NS direction and short in the EW direction,the existence of the soil layer tends to generate ground deformation along the NS direction in the vicinity of the lake after the increase of water level,thereby resulting in the difference of the ground deformation in the two directions.
