Chinese men should have a higher prostate-specific antigen （PsA）＂gray zone＂ than the traditional value of 2.5-10.0 ng ml-1 since the incidence of prostate cancer （PCa） in Chinese men is relative low. We hypothesized that PsA density （PsAD） could improve the rate of PCa detection in Chinese men with a PsA higher than the traditional PsA ＂gray zone.＂ A total of 461 men with a PsA between 2.5 and 20.0 ng ml-1, who had undergone prostatic biopsy at two Chinese centers were included in the analysis. The men were then further divided into groups with a PsA between 2.5-10.0 ng ml-1 and 10.1-20.0 ng ml-1. Receiver operating characteristic （ROC） curve was used to evaluate the efficacy of PsA and PsAD for the diagnosis of PCa. In men with a PsA of 2.5-10.0 ng ml-1 or 10.1-20.0 ng ml-z, the areas under the ROC curve were higher for PsAD than for PsA. This was consistent across both centers and the cohort overall. When the entire cohort was considered, the optimal PsAD cut-off for predicting PCa in men with a PsA of 2.5-10.0 ng m1-1 was 0.15 ng ml-2 ml-2, with a sensitivity of 64.4% and specificity of 64.6%. The optimal cut-off for PsAD in men with a PsA of 10.1-20.0 ng m1-1 was 0.33 ng ml-1 ml-1, with a sensitivity of 60.3% and specificity of 82.7%. PsAD can improve the effectiveness for PCa detection in Chinese men with a PsA of 2.5-10.0 ng ml-1 （traditional Western PsA ＂gray zone＂） and 10.1-20.0 ng ml-2 （Chinese PsA ＂gray zone＂）.

The therapeutic efficacy of radioimmunotherapy against triple negative breast cancer(TNBC)is largely limited by the complicated tumor microenvironment(TME)and its immunosuppressive state.Thus developing a strategy to reshape TME is expected to achieve highly efficient radioimmunotherapy.Therefore,we designed and synthesized a tellurium(Te)-driven maple leaf manganese carbonate nanotherapeutics(MnCO3@Te)by gas diffusion method,but also provided a chemical catalytic strategy in situ to augment ROs level and activate immune cells for improving cancer radioimmunotherapy.As expected,with the help of H2O2 in TEM,MnCO3@Te heterostructure with reversible Mn3+/Mn2+transition could catalyze the intracellular ROs overproduction to amplify radiotherapy.In addition,by virtue of the ability to scavenge H+in TME by carbonate group,MnCO3@Te directly promote the maturation of dendritic cells and macrophage M1 repolarization by stimulator of interferon genes(sTING)pathway activation,resulting in remodeling immuno-microenvironment.As a result,MnCO3@Te synergized with radiotherapy and immune checkpoint blockade therapy effectively inhibited the breast cancer growth and lung metastasis in vivo.Collectively,these findings indicate that MnCO3@Te as an agonist,successfully overcome radioresistance and awaken immune systems,showing promising potential for solid tumor radioimmunotherapy.

目的在全球范围内,癌症患者的非正式照顾者在其照顾角色方面遇到的挑战显著影响了他们的生活质量。此研究旨在分析癌症照护如何影响非正式照顾者的生活质量,以及非正式照顾者的癌症照护角色转换应对策略。方法按照提高质性研究系统评价报告透明度的声明(Enhancing transparency in reporting the synthesis of qualitative research,ENTREQ),检索发表于2009年5月1日至2019年12月31日的文献。检索万方数据库、中国知网、CINAHL、PubMed、Cochrane图书馆、PsycARTICLEs和PsycINFO数据库和灰色文献。采用2018版质性研究关键质量评价清单(Critical Appraisal skills Programme,CAsP)进行了质量评价和主题整合的方法进行数据整用。结果共检索出8945篇文章,6篇文章符合纳入标准。分析关于癌症患者非正式照顾者的生活质量,呈现出一个主题“照顾的挑战”。分析言非正式照护者癌症照护角色转换应对策略,呈现出两个主题:“自我调整”和“寻求正式和非正式支持”。结论癌症照护显著影响非正式照护者的生活质量。为了应对照护过程中出现的困难、平衡照护与自己生活之间的关系,非正式照护者发展出了多样化的应对策略。同时,对非正式照顾者的专业支持和政策支持仍然不足,需要从专业健康照护者和政策制定者两个角度进行完善和提升。

Background:The spleen plays a pivotal role in the rapid clearance of parasitized red blood cells in patients with falciparum malaria after artemisinin treatment.Prolonged parasite clearance can be found in patients who have had a splenectomy,or those with hemoglobin abnormalities and/or reduced immunity,which are all distinguishable from artemisinin resistance.This paper reports on a case of prolonged parasite clearance in a Chinese splenectomized patient with falciparum malaria imported from Nigeria.Case presentation:A 35-year-old Chinese male suffered 2 days of febrile illness after returning to Zhumadian city of Henan province from Nigeria on October 1,2014.The main symptoms were febrile,including the highest axillary temperature of 40℃,headache,and chills.A peripheral blood smear showed parasitemia(53913 asexual parasites/μl)of Plasmodium falciparum.The patient had not used any chemoprophylaxis against malaria in Nigeria when he worked there as a construction worker between 2009 and 2014.The patient had three episodes of malaria in Nigeria and had a splenectomy due to a traffic accident 8 years ago from the time he was admitted to hospital.The patient was orally administrated a total of 320 mg/2.56 g dihydroartemisinin-piperaquine for 2 days and intravenously administrated a total of 3000 mg artesunate for 18 days.The axillary temperature of the patient ranged between 37.0 and 37.7℃ from Day 0 to Day 3,and blood microscopy revealed falciparum malaria parasitemia(26674 asexual parasites/μl)on Day 3.The patient was afebrile on Day 4,falciparum malaria parasitemia was continuously present and then gradually decreased on the next days,and was negative on Day 21.The patient was cured and left hospital on Day 24 after no plasmodium falciparum was found in the blood on Day 21 to Day 23.No mutation was found in the K13 propeller gene when compared with the PF3D7_1343700 K13 propeller gene reference sequence.Conclusions:This is the first reported case in China of prolonged parasite clearance in a splenectomized patien

Amorphous carbons are promising anodes for high-rate potassium-ion batteries.Most low-temperature annealed amorphous carbons display unsatisfactory capacities.Heteroatom-induced defect engineering of amorphous carbons could enhance their reversible capacities.Nevertheless,most lignocellulose biomasses lack heteroatoms,making it a challenge to design highly heteroatom-doped carbons(>10 at%).Herein,we report a new preparation strategy for amorphous carbon anodes.Nitrogen/sulfur co-doped lignin-derived porous carbons(NsLPC)with ultra-high nitrogen doping levels(21.6 at%of N and 0.8 at%of s)from renewable lignin biomacromolecule precursors were prepared through a supramolecule-mediated pyrolysis strategy.This supermolecule/lignin composite decomposes forming a covalently bonded graphitic carbon/amorphous carbon intermediate product,which induces the formation of high heteroatom doping in the obtained NsLPC.This unique pyrolysis chemistry and high heteroatom doping of NsLPC enable abundant defective active sites for the adsorption of K+and improved kinetics.The NsLPC anode delivered a high reversible capacity of 419 mAh g^(-1)and superior cycling stability(capacity retention of 96.6%at 1 A g^(-1)for 1000 cycles).Potassiumion hybrid capacitors assembled by NsLPC anode exhibited excellent cycling stability(91%capacity retention for 2000 cycles)and a high energy density of 71 Wh kg^(-1)at a power density of 92 W kg^(-1).

Zinc ion hybrid capacitors(ZIHCs), which integrate the features of the high power of supercapacitors and the high energy of zinc ion batteries, are promising competitors in future electrochemical energy storage applications. Carbon-based materials are deemed the competitive candidates for cathodes of ZIHC due to their cost-effectiveness, high electronic conductivity, chemical inertness, controllable surface states, and tunable pore architectures. In recent years, great research efforts have been devoted to further improving the energy density and cycling stability of ZIHCs. Reasonable modification and optimization of carbon-based materials offer a remedy for these challenges. In this review, the structural design, and electrochemical properties of carbon-based cathode materials with different dimensions, as well as the selection of compatible, robust current collectors and separators for ZIHCs are discussed. The challenges and prospects of ZIHCs are showcased to guide the innovative development of carbon-based cathode materials and the development of novel ZIHCs.

The number of clinical trials conducted in China's Mainland,including investigator‐initiated trials(IITs),has increased rapidly in recent years.However,there are few data on the characteristics of cancer‐related IITs.We performed a comprehensive analysis of the landscape of cancer‐related IITs in China's Mainland in the past decade.All cancer‐related IITs registered on two clinical trial registries in the United states(www.***.gov,CT.gov)and China's Mainland(***,ChiCTR)from 2010 to 2019 were identified.IITs were reviewed manually to validate classification,subcategorized by cancer type,and stratified by design characteristics to facilitate comparison across cancer types and with other specialties.A total of 8199 cancer‐related IITs were identified.The number of trials registered annually increased over time,especially in the last 5 years.Although interventional studies were predominant,randomized double‐blind studies accounted for only 8%of IITs.In the past decade,the trend for interventional studies conducted with different drugs increased year on year,although the increase in hormonal therapy IITs was not significant.Additionally,cancerrelated IITs were unevenly geographically distributed,with half concentrated in the economically developed cities shanghai,Beijing,and Guangdong.We also found an increase in registration before participant enrollment(64.9%for trials in conducted in 2015–2019 vs.40.2%in 2010–2014,pse(44.5%vs.40.0%,p=0.001)and a decrease in randomization(51.5%vs.62.7%,ps.56.3%,pse periods.We also observed changes in intervention type(decrease in cytotoxic drug therapy[34.8%vs.48.9%,pse in targeted therapy[17.8%vs.14.2%,p=0.004],immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy[6.6%vs.0.0%,ps.4.5%,ps of cancer‐related IITs conducted during the past decade illustrate the merits of oncology research in China's Mainland.Although the increased quantity of IITs i

Effects of different regional cerebral blood flow on white matter hyperintensity in CADAsIL patients

Cerebral autosomal dominant arteriopathy with subcortical infarcts and leukoencephalopathy(CADAsIL)is an early-onset inherited small vessel disease.Decreased cerebral blood flow(CBF)may contribute to white matter hyperintensity(WMH)severity in CADAsIL,but more evidence is needed to support this hypothesis.This study comprised six patients with CADAsIL who harbored mutations in the coding sequence of NOTCH3 and twelve age-matched neurologically healthy controls.We collected clinical and imaging data from patients with CADAsIL and divided the brain into four regions:WMH,normal-appearing white matter(NAWM),gray matter(GM),and global brain.We analyzed the relationship between CBF of each region and the WMH volume.Compared with the control group,CBF was significantly decreased in all four regions in the CADAsIL group.Lower CBF in these regions was correlated with higher WMH volume in CADAsIL.CBF in the NAWM,GM and global regions was positively correlated with that in WMH region.However,after correction tests,only CBF in the WMH region but not in NAWM,GM and global regions was associated with WMH volume.Our findings suggest that CBF in the WMH region is an influencing factor of the WMH severity in CADAsIL.

Background:Transplant renal artery stenosis(TRAs)is a vascular complication after kidney transplantation associated with poor outcomes.This study aimed to analyze the efficacy and safety of low-dose aspirin for preventing TRAs.Methods:After kidney transplantation,patients were enrolled from January 2018 to December 2020 in Henan Provincial people’s hospital.A total of 351 enrolled recipients were randomized to an aspirin group with low-dose intake of aspirin in addition to standard treatment(n=178),or a control group with only standard treatment(n=173).The patients was initially diagnosed as TRAs(id-TRAs)by Doppler ultrasound,and confirmed cases were diagnosed by DsA(c-TRAs).Results:In the aspirin and control groups,15.7%(28/178)and 22.0%(38/173)of the recipients developed id-TRAs,respectively,with no statistical difference.However,for c-TRAs,the difference of incidence and cumulative incidence was statistically significant.The incidence of c-TRAs was lower in the aspirin group compared with the control group(2.8%[5/178]vs.11.6%[20/173],P=0.001).Kaplan–Meier estimates and Cox regression model identified the cumulative incidence and hazard ratio(HR)of TRAs over time in two groups,showing that recipients treated with aspirin had a significantly lower risk of c-TRAs than those who were not treated(log-rank P=0.001,HR=0.23,95%confidence interval[CI]:0.09–0.62).The levels of platelet aggregation rate(Psterol(P=0.028),and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(P=0.003)in the aspirin group were decreased compared with the control group in the third-month post-transplantation.For the incidence of adverse events,there was no statistical difference.Conclusion:Clinical application of low-dose aspirin after renal transplant could prevent the development of TRAs with no significant increase in adverse effects.Trial Registration:Clinicaltrials.gov,NCT04260828.
