Organic semiconductors with bipolar transporting character are highly attractive as they offer the possibility to achieve high optoelectronic performance in simple device structures.However,the continual efforts in preparing bipolar materials are focusing on donor-acceptor(D-A)architectures by introducing both electron-donating and electron-withdrawing units into one molecule in static molecular design principles.Here,we report a dynamic approach to construct bipolar materials using only electron-donating carbazoles connected by N-P=X resonance linkages in a donor-resonance-donor(D-r-D)structure.By facilitating the stimuli-responsive resonance variation,these D-r-D molecules exhibit extraordinary bipolar properties by positively charging one donor of carbazole in enantiotropic N^(+)=P-X-canonical forms for electron transport without the involvement of any acceptors.With thus realized efficient and balanced charge transport,blue and deep-blue phosphorescent organic light emitting diodes hosted by these D-r-D molecules show high external quantum efficiencies up to 16.2%and 18.3%in vacuum-deposited and spin-coated devices,respectively.These results via the D-r-D molecular design strategy represent an important concept advance in constructing bipolar organic optoelectronic semiconductors dynamically for high-performance device applications.

Continuous deforming always leads to the performance degradation of a flexible triboelectric nanogenerator due to the Young’s modulus mismatch of different functional layers.In this work,we fabricated a fiber-shaped stretchable and tailorable triboelectric nanogenerator(FST-TENG)based on the geometric construction of a steel wire as electrode and ingenious selection of silicone rubber as triboelectric layer.Owing to the great robustness and continuous conductivity,the FST-TENGs demonstrate high stability,stretchability,and even tailorability.For a single device with ~6 cm in length and ~3 mm in diameter,the open-circuit voltage of ~59.7 V,transferred charge of ~23.7 nC,short-circuit current of ~2.67 μA and average power of ~2.13 μW can be obtained at 2.5 Hz.By knitting several FST-TENGs to be a fabric or a bracelet,it enables to harvest human motion energy and then to drive a wearable electronic device.Finally,it can also be woven on dorsum of glove to monitor the movements of gesture,which can recognize every single finger,different bending angle,and numbers of bent finger by analyzing voltage signals.

Background:Treatment options for Chinese patients with locally advanced or metastatic squamous-cell non-small-cell lung cancer(sqNSCLC)after failure of first-line chemotherapy are limited.This study(ORIENT-3)aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of sintilimab versus docetaxel as second-line treatment in patients with locally advanced or metastatic sqNSCLC.Methods:ORIENT-3 was an open-label,multicenter,randomized controlled phase 3 trial that recruited patients with stage IIIB/IIIC/IV sqNSCLC after failure with first-line platinum-based chemotherapy.Patients were randomized in a 1:1 ratio to receive either 200 mg of sintilimab or 75 mg/m^(2) of docetaxel intravenously every 3 weeks,stratified by the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance status.The primary endpoint was overall survival(OS)in the full analysis set(FAS).Secondary endpoints included progression-free survival(PFS),objective response rate(ORR),disease control rate(DCR),duration of response(DoR)and safety.Results:Between August 25,2017,and November 7,2018,290 patients were randomized.For FAS,10 patients fromthe docetaxel armwere excluded.Themedian OS was 11.79(n=145;95%confidence interval[CI],10.28-15.57)months with sintilimab versus 8.25(n=135;95%CI,6.47-9.82)months with docetaxel(hazard ratio[HR]:0.74;95%CI,0.56-0.96;P=0.025).Sintilimab treatment significantly prolonged PFS(median 4.30 vs.2.79 months;HR:0.52;95%CI,0.39-0.68;P<0.001)and showed higher ORR(25.50%vs.2.20%,P<0.001)and DCR(65.50%vs.37.80%,P<0.001)than the docetaxel arm.The median DoRwas 12.45(95%CI,4.86-25.33)months in the sintilimab arm and 4.14(95%CI,1.41-7.23)months in the docetaxel arm(P=0.045).Treatment-related adverse events of grade≥3were reported in 26(18.1%)patients in the sintilimab arm and 47(36.2%)patients in the docetaxel arm.Exploratory biomarker analysis showed potential predictive values of expression levels of two transcription factors,including OVOL2(HR:0.35;P<0.001)and CTCF(HR:3.50;P<0.001),for sintilimab treatment.Conclusions:Compared with docetaxel,sintilima

This paper presents a finite-time economic model predictive control(MPC)algorithm that can be used for frequency regulation and optimal load dispatch in multi-area power systems.Economic MPC can be used in a power system to ensure frequency stability,real-time economic optimization,control of the system and optimal load dispatch from it.A generalized terminal penalty term was used,and the finite-time convergence of the system was guaranteed.The effectiveness of the proposed model predictive control algorithm was verified by simulating a power system,which had two areas connected by an AC tie line.The simulation results demonstrated the effectiveness of the algorithm.

Objective:Neoadjuvant therapy(NAT)has been widely implemented as an essential treatment to improve therapeutic efficacy in patients with locally-advanced cancer to reduce tumor burden and prolong survival,particularly for human epidermal growth receptor 2-positive and triple-negative breast cancer.The role of peripheral immune components in predicting therapeutic responses has received limited attention.Herein we determined the relationship between dynamic changes in peripheral immune indices and therapeutic responses during NAT administration.Methods:Peripheral immune index data were collected from 134 patients before and after NAT.Logistic regression and machine learning algorithms were applied to the feature selection and model construction processes,respectively.Results:Peripheral immune status with a greater number of CD3^(+)T cells before and after NAT,and a greater number of CD8^(+)T cells,fewer CD4^(+)T cells,and fewer NK cells after NAT was significantly related to a pathological complete response(P<0.05).The post-NAT NK cell-to-pre-NAT NK cell ratio was negatively correlated with the response to NAT(HR=0.13,P=0.008).Based on the results of logistic regression,14 reliable features(P<0.05)were selected to construct the machine learning model.The random forest model exhibited the best power to predict efficacy of NAT among 10 machine learning model approaches(AUC=0.733).Conclusions:Statistically significant relationships between several specific immune indices and the efficacy of NAT were revealed.A random forest model based on dynamic changes in peripheral immune indices showed robust performance in predicting NAT efficacy.

Background:Low-fee female sex workers(FSWs)are at high risk of acquiring and spreading human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)/sexually transmitted diseases(STDs)in China.There is an urgent need to develop comprehensive intervention measures targeted towards low-fee FSWs to reduce HIV/STD infections.Thus,this study aimed to reduce HIV/STD infections among low-fee FSW through a matched-pair,comiDunity-based randomized intervention trial carried out in 12 cities in three provinces in China.Methods:Four cities from Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region,four from Yunnan province,and four from Hunan province were paired and participants received either the intervention package(including condom promotion,HIV and syphilis testing,reimbursement for syphilis treatment costs,and free anti-retroviral therapy or the current standard of care.Venue-based,convenience sampling was used to recruit FSWs.A face-to-face interview and HIV and syphilis blood testing was conducted at baseline and follow-up intervals of 24 months.Generalized linear mixed models(GLMM)were used to evaluate the effect of the intervention package on reducing HIV/STD infection in the FSWs.Results:A total of 1024 eligible FSWs were enrolled in the baseline survey and 843 in the follow-up.GLMM results showed that syphilis infeaion was reduced by 49%in the intervention group compared to the current standard of care group(P=0.0378,OR=0.51;95%CI:0.27-0.96).FSWs aged 35 years or older were 2.38 times more likely to get syphilis infection compared to those younger than 35 years old(P<0.0001,OR=2.38,95%CI:1.55-3.65).The risk of syphilis infection among more educated FSWs was 0.43 times less than those with lower levels of education(P<0.05,OR=0.43,95%CI:0.63-0.93).Conclusions:This study demonstrates that comprehensive interventions can lead to significant declines in syphilis infection amongst low-tier FSWs.Integrating both behavioral and biomedical intervention measures should be considered when developing programs for low-fee FSWs.Trial registration:CHiCTR-TRC-12002655.

Background Overexpression of the components of the Janus kinase/signal transducer and activator of transcription(JAK/STAT)signalling pathway is the key factor of the pathogenic mechanisms underlying systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis(sJIA).The study aims to investigate the association between miR-21 and the JAK/STAT signal pathway in JIA.Methods Total RNA was extracted from peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMCs)in active JIA patients.The relative expressions of miR-21,STAT3 and suppressor of cytokine signalling 3 in PBMCs were measured by real-time polymerase chain reaction and their expressions were measured by western blotting and dual-luciferase reported assay.Rheumatoid arthritis fibroblast-like synovial cell(RASF)was stimulated to become to osteoclasts using macrophage colony-stimulating factor(M-CSF)and factors that can impact on their differentiation ability were identified through the transfection of LV3-miR-21.The expression of STAT3/p-STAT3 was measured by western blot,and the levels of interleukin(IL)-17A,p65,matrix metalloproteinases(MMP)-3,MMP-4 and receptor activator of nuclear factor-κd3 after the LV3-miR-21 transfection were tested by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.Finally,the miR-21 targeted STAT3 gene was detected by the dualluciferase reported assay.Results The expression of miR-21 was significantly lower in JIA patients than in healthy control(P<0.05).The level of STAT3 was increased in PBMCs of JIA group compared with control group(P<0.05).Furthermore,the expression levels of miR-21 in sJIA and polyarticular JIA groups were negatively correlated with STAT3(r=-0.5854/r=-0.6134,P<0.05).The expression of STAT3 changed little in PBMCS after the stimulation of IL-6 and not in RASFs with transfection of LV3-miR-21.The expression of p-STAT3 decreased after the stimulation of IL-6 in RASFs transfected by LV3-miR-21(P<0.05).RASFs were induced into osteoclasts using M-CSF.The number of osteoclasts as determined by tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase staining was significantly lower in group m

Thermal protective clothing has been recognized as the primary shielding against emergency fire hazard and inflammable gas leakage. Therefore,the thermal response of human covered with thermal protective clothing under high temperature is the key work to investigate the thermal insulation of thermal protective clothing. A coupling model composed of thermal protective clothing,air gap and human skin is established and the temperature of the micro-system is numerically solved via the finite element method( FEM).Especially,the heat transfer of air gap located between clothing and human skin considering conduction and radiation is established while the human skin layers involve the effect of blood perfusion. Then the effect of thermophysical properties( thermal conductivity and volumetric capacity) of fabric and thickness of fabric and air on the thermal response of the micro-system is elucidated and compared.The results indicate that the volumetric heat capacity of fabric is the key parameter to affect the thermal shielding performance of thermal protective clothing,and the thicker fabric thickness and air gap thickness can improve the thermal protective properties of the micro-system.
