(Bi,Sb)_(2)(Te,Se)_(3) alloys are widely used commercial thermoelectric(TE)materials for solid-state refrigeration around room *** composition-induced structural phase transition could be realized by varying the compositions in these alloys,which may largely alter the electronic structure and phonon *** them,the Se-alloyed Sb_(2)Te_(3) accompanied with structural transition is seldom ***,the interrelations of Se-alloying induced changes in structural phase transition,band structure and TE properties of p-type zone-melted Sb_(2)Te_(3-x)Se_(x)(x=1.5-2.4)alloys near phase transition boundary are systematically *** results demonstrate that Sb_(2)Te_(3-x)Se_(x) shows a structural transition from a rhombohedral phase to mixed structure at x=*** carrier concentration and bandgap at room temperature of Sb_(2)Te_(3)-xSex(x=1.5-2.4)constantly decrease with increasing Se contents *** zT peak of the Sb_(2)TeSe_(2) matrix is improved and shifted to higher temperature by optimizing carrier concentration via Ag doping.A maximum zT of~0.4 is obtained at 680 K in Sb_(1.97)Ag_(0.03)TeSe_(2) alloy,about 100% enhancement compared with the undoped sample.

Columnar to Equiaxed Transition During Solidification of Small Ingot by Using Electric Current Pulse

A new approach to applying the electric current pulse （ECP） with parallel electrodes to the promotion of the transition from columnar crystal to equiaxed crystal and the improvement of macrosegregation was introduced. The ECP was applied to different stages of the solidification. The results showed that the application of the ECP in both the initial stage （the thickness of solidified shell reached 2 mm approximately） and the late stage （the thickness of solidified shell reached 14 mm approximately） of solidification can promote the columnar to equiaxed transition （CET）. The analysis showed that during solidification, a large number of nuclei around the upper surface fell off due to ECP, which subsequently showered on the melt and impinged the growth front of the columnar crystal. Therefore, the CEToccurred. In addition, this method was also employed to influence the solidification process of bearing steel, and the results showed that the structure was changed from columnar crystal to equiaxed crystal, indicating that ECP can enhance the homogeneity of structure and composition of bearing steel.

Large anions exhibit slow diffusion kinetics in graphite cathode of dual-ion batteries(DIBs);particularly at high current density,it suffers severely from the largely-reduced interlayer utilization of graphite cathode,which as a bottleneck limits the fast charge application of *** maximize interlayer utilization and achieve faster anion diffusion kinetics,a fast and uncrowded anion transport channel must be ***,Li^(+)was pre-intercalated into the graphite paper(GP)cathode to increase the interlayer spacing,and then hosted for the PF_(6)^(-)anion *** with theoretical calculation,it shows that the local interlayer spacing enlargement and the residual Li^(+)reduce the anion intercalation energy and diffusion barrier,leading to better rate *** obtained GP with Li^(+)pre-intercalation(GP-Li)electrode exhibits a discharge capacity of 23.1 m Ah g^(-1) at a high current of 1300 m A g^(-1).This work provides a facile method to efficiently improve the interlayer utilization of graphite cathode at large currents.

Titanium dioxide（TiO2） is a common photocatalyst for organic pollutants degradation. However, in practical application, the poor adsorption capacity of pure TiO2seriously impeded its efficiency in the degradation of organic molecules. In this work, a series of hierarchical wrinkle mesoporous silica supported TiO2nano-composite particles（TiO2@WMS-COOH） were successfully prepared. Thanks to their high surface areas, large pore volumes and mesoporous structures, these materials showed high adsorption capacity and excellent photocatalytic performance towards dye molecules, which is comparable to or even better than commercial catalyst P25. Moreover, their photocatalytic efficiency can be further enhanced by increasing the calcination temperature during preparation process. Therefore it can be concluded that the TiO2@WMS-COOH particles may find promising applications in the photodegradation of organic pollutants.

Peptides exert important biological functions but their application is hindered by their susceptibility to proteolysis and poor stability in ***,functional peptide mimics have drawn a great deal of attention to address this ***(2-oxazoline)s,a class of biocompatible and proteolysis-resistant polymer,can work as host defense peptide mimics without following the general membrane-targeting mechanism as shown in our previous *** observation encouraged us to figure out if poly(2-oxazoline)s are special and break the general membrane-targeting mechanism of host defense peptides and their *** this study,we aimed at the connection between structure and antibacterial mechanism of poly(2-oxazoline)s.A new γ-aminobutyric acid(GABA)-pendent poly(2-oxazoline)was synthesized and investigated to compare with glycine-pendent poly(2-oxazoline)in our previous study,with the former polymer has two extra CH2 groups in the sidechain to increase the hydrophobicity and *** depolarization assay suggested that incorporating two more CH2 groups into the sidechain of poly(2-oxazoline)resulted in a mechanism switch from DNA-targeting to membrane-targeting,which was supported by the slow time-kill kinetics and slightly distorted and sunken membrane ***,GABA-pendent poly(2-oxazoline)showed potent activity against methicillin-resistant *** and low hemolysis on human red blood ***,repeated use of the antimicrobial poly(2-oxazoline)did not stimulate bacteria to obtain resistance,which was an obvious advantage of membrane-targeting antimicrobial agents.

Graphite nanosheets (GNS) were prepared by surfactant assisted ultrasonication from expanded graphite (EG) and followed by coating onto vinylon fabrics with water-borne polyurethane (WPU). The morphology of GNS and GNS/polyurethane (PU) coatings was characterized by field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM), and the structure of GNS was studied by fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. Electromagnetic (EM) parameters indicated that GNS is a kind of dielectric loss material, in which little magnetic loss is found. Reflection loss (RL) results showed that both GNS content and coated thickness had great influences on the microwave absorption. For the fabric coated with GNS/PU nanocomposites (30/100 by weight, wet thickness of 0.39 mm for dry areal density in 130g/m2 ), RL values exceeding 5dB could be obtained in the frequency range of 10.7-18GHz, while 10dB in 12.7-18GHz, and a minimum value of 28dB at 15.2GHz. These GNS/PU coated fabrics are light and flexible with much thin and low-cost coated layer, and showed great potential in radar camouflaging and electromagnetic interference application.

A novel wastewater purification material was prepared by a hydrothermal method. It was mainly made from oyster shells with the merits of long service time, large surface area, high lead removal efficiency and excellent recyclable properties. The technological conditions were decided respectively based on the lead removal efficiencies. At pH = 5 and 30 ℃, for the wastewater with the initial concentration of Pb2＋ to be 5 mg/L, adsorption time 24 h, and 1 mg to 40 mL of mass ratio between adsorbent and Pb2＋, the maximum adsorption capacity can reach 0.19 mg/g. The lead removal material prepared by hydrothermal method has excellent recycle performance. The equilibrium adsorption capacity can get to 9.71 mg/g and the average Pb2＋ removal rate is as high as 66.39%. After reusing for 60 times, the SEM observation shows that the hydrates of reticular formation is formed after hydrothermal modification, which provides a good attachment position for Pb2＋, indicating the physical adsorption is dominant.

Two new d;metal-based metal-organic frameworks,{[Zn;（btc）;（bib）;（H;O）;]·2H;O};（1）and{[Cd;（btc）;（bib）;（H;O）;]·6H;O};（2）(btc=1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylate anion,bib=1,4-bis（1-imidazolyl）benzene)have been prepared under hydrothermal conditions by the reactions of d;metal oxides of ZnO and CdO with the aromatic polycarboxylic H;btc and the N-heterocyclic *** two products were characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis,elemental analysis,thermogravimetric analysis（TGA）,and IR *** 1 and 2 crystallize in monoclinic C2/c and triclinic P 1 space groups,respectively.1 shows a 3D framework,and the potential large voids of the 3D network lead to a 3-fold interpenetrating architecture.2 displays a 2D framework,and the adjacent 2D layers expand into a 3D supramulecular network via rich hydrogen ***,the luminescent properties of the two complexes are investigated in solid state.

This paper reports that the complex-coupled distributed feedback laser with the sampled grating has been designed and *** ＋1st order reflection of the sampled grating is utilized for laser single mode operation,which is 1.5387 μm in the *** typical threshold current of the device is 30 mA,and the optical output power is about 10 mW at the injection current of 100 mA.
