Industrial activities, through the human-induced release of Green House Gas (GHG) emissions, have beenidentified as the primary cause of global warming. Accurate and quantitative monitoring of these emissions isessential for a co.prehensive understanding of their impact on the Earth’s climate and for effectively enforcingemission regulations at a large scale. This work examines the feasibility of detecting and quantifying industrialsmoke plumes using freely accessible geo-satellite imagery. The existing systemhas so many lagging factors such aslimitations in accuracy, robustness, and efficiency and these factors hinder the effectiveness in supporting timelyresponse to industrial fires. In this work, the utilization of grayscale images is done instead of traditional co.orimages for smoke plume detection. The dataset was trained through a ResNet-50 model for classification and aU-Net model for segmentation. The dataset co.sists of images gathered by European space Agency’s Sentinel-2 satellite co.stellation from a selection of industrial sites. The acquired images predominantly capture scenesof industrial locations, some of which exhibit active smoke plume emissions. The performance of the abovementionedtechniques and models is represented by their accuracy and IOU (Intersection-over-Union) *** images are first trained on the basic RGB images where their respective classification using the ResNet-50model results in an accuracy of 94.4% and segmentation using the U-Net Model with an IOU metric of 0.5 andaccuracy of 94% which leads to the detection of exact patches where the smoke plume has occurred. This work hastrained the classification model on grayscale images achieving a good increase in accuracy of 96.4%.

Popularization of lithium-sulfur batteries(LSBs) is still hindered by shuttle effect and volume ***, a new modularized sulfur storage strategy is proposed to solve above problems and acco.plished via employing 100% space utilization host material of co.alt loaded carbon nanoparticles derived from ZIF-67. The modular dispersed storage of sulfur not only greatly increases the proportion of active sulfur,but also inhibits the occurrence of volume expansion. Meanwhile, 100% space utilization host material can greatly improve the co.ductivity of the cathode, provide a larger electrolyte wetting interface and effectively suppress the shuttle effect. Moreover, loaded co.alt particles have high catalytic activity for electrochemical reaction and can effectively improve the redox kinetics. The cell with new cathode host material carbonized at 650 ℃(ZIF-67(650 ℃)) exhibits superior rate performance and can maintain a high specific capacity of 950 m Ah/g after 100 cycles at 0.2 C, showing a good cycle stability.

With the rapid development of space-air-ground integrated co.munications, diverse requirements have been imposed on antenna radiation patterns. In addition, increasingly co.pact platforms brings significant challenges to the deployment of antenna arrays normally used for beamforming. This article co.prehensively surveys characteristic mode analysis(CMA)-based pattern diversity realizations in past years. Specifically, exciting multiple characteristic modes independently achieves pattern reco.figurability and element-reduced multiple-input and multiple-output systems. We furthermore overview a series of works on modes superposition. Various methods have been explored for modal weights decision, and therefore specific patterns are synthesized. The weighted modal co.bination also fulfills single-element beamforming. A recent study on an antenna design for electrically small unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs) is summarized, and the desired reco.figurable radiation patterns of the co.formal radiator are realized based on CMA. Moreover, a formation-based beamforming technique, which takes advantages of the electromagnetic co.pling among co.formal radiators and the agility of UAVs, is introduced.
