Resulting from harsh hypoxic environmental conditions,central cells in the core of solid tumors are usually more aggressive and malignant with a less stable ***,therapeutic agents with improved penetration for the activation of immunity in tumor centers exhibit promising potential in ***,polydopamine-coated Escherichia coli Nissle 1917(EcN)bearing chlorin e6(Ce6)-loaded and polyethyleneimine(PEI)-coated hollow manganese dioxide(shorted as EP-ChP)are applied for enhanced immunotherapy in deep *** accumulation in tumor center through hypoxia targeting,manganese dioxide is degradated under the tumor microenvironment with released Ce6 and thus generates reactive oxygen species(ROS)upon 660 nm laser irradiation,which can further lower thermalresistance of cancer cells via HSP90α*** to that,heating induced by polydopamine upon 808 nm laser irradiation can achieve effective tumor *** upon dual laser induces enhanced immunogenic cell death,while bacterial infections in tumor tissues also trigger innate *** bacteria-based approach provides enhanced antitumor immune responses in deep tumors with great potential in the reshaping of immunosuppression tumor microenvironment.

Role of the Greenland Sea ice anomaly in the late-spring drought over Northwest China

Drought across Northwest China in late spring has exerted a vital effect on the local climate and agricultural production,and has been alleviated during the past *** study explored the influence of the preceding Arctic sea ice on the May drought in Northwest China caused by the precipitation *** analysis indicated that when the Greenland Sea ice concentration is abnormally high during February to April,the dry conditions in Northwest China tend to be *** increase of sea ice in the Greenland Sea can excite a meridional circulation,which causes sea surface temperature(SST)anomalies in the North Atlantic via the sea-air interaction,manifested as significant warm SST anomalies over the south of Greenland and the subtropical North Atlantic,but negative SST anomalies over the west of the *** abnormal SST pattern maintains to May and triggers a zonal wave train from the North Atlantic through Scandinavia and Central Asia to Northwest China,leading to abnormal cyclones in Northwest ***,Northwest China experiences a more humid climate than usual.

Methane, an abundant one-carbon（C1） resource, is extensively used in the industrial production of vital fuels and value-added chemicals. However, current industrial methane conversion technologies are energy-and carbon-intensive, mainly due to the high activation energy required to break the inert C–H bond, low selectivity, and problematic side reactions, including CO2emissions and coke deposition. Electrochemical conversion of methane（ECM） using intermittent renewable energy offers an attractive solution, due to its modular reactor design and operational flexibility across a broad spectrum of temperatures and pressures. This review emphasizes conversion pathways of methane in various reaction systems, highlighting the significance and advantages of ECM in facilitating a sustainable artificial carbon cycle. This work provides a comprehensive overview of conventional methane activation mechanisms and delineates the complete pathways of methane conversion in electrolysis contexts. Based on surface/interface chemistry, this work systematically analyzes proposed reaction pathways and corresponding strategies to enhance ECM efficiency towards various target products, including syngas, hydrocarbons, oxygenates, and advanced carbon materials. The discussion also encompasses opportunities and challenges for the ECM process, including insights into ECM pathways, rational electrocatalyst design, establishment of benchmarking protocols, electrolyte engineering, enhancement of CH4conversion rates, and minimization of CO2emission.

Effects of ferulic acid on antioxidant activity in Angelicae Sinensis Radix, Chuanxiong Rhizoma, and their combination

The present study aimed at exploring different roles of the same compound in different environment, using preparative HPLC, and the significance to investigating bio-active constituents in traditional chinese medicine （TCM） on the basis of holism. In this study, the depletion of target component ferulic acid （FA） by using preparative HPLC followed by antioxidant activity testing was applied to investigate the roles of FA in Angelicae Sinansis Radix （DG）, Chuanxiong Rhizoma （CX） and their combination （GX）. The antioxidant activity was performed by 1, 1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl （DPPH） radical-scavenging activity testing. FA was successfully and exclusively depleted from DG, CX, and GX, respectively. By comparing the effects of the samples, it was found that FA was one of the main antioxidant constituents in DG, CX and GX, and the roles of FA were DG 〉 CX 〉 GX. Furthermore, the effects of FA varied at different doses in these herbs. This study provided a reliable and effective approach to clarifying the contribution of same compound in different TCMs to their bio-activities. The role of a constituent in different TCMs might be different, and a component with the same content might have different effects in different chemical environments. Furthermore, this study also suggested the potential utilization of preparative HPLC in the characterization of the roles of multi-ingredients in TCM.

A convenient method for the determination of molecular weight cut-off of ultrafiltration membranes

With the rapid increase of water contamination,membrane separation technology and their corresponding molecular weight cut-off(MWCO) evaluation method become more *** this study,Panax notoginseng saponins was used as a new standard marker to determinate ultrafiltration(UF) membrane MWCOs,series of Millipore membranes were selected as control group to analyze and calculate the relationship between retention rate and MWCOs with exponential or logarithmic equation.A new and convenient method was provided for determining the membrane MWCO by modeling analysis retention rate with MWCOs,and the regression coefficients >*** feasibility and practicability of established method was verified by different manufactures' membrane and *** the detection progress,as the main ingredient of Panax notoginseng saponins,Notoginsenoside R_1,Ginsenoside Rg_1,Ginsenoside Rb_1 and Ginsenoside Rd with different surface activity,the MWCO range of UF membranes can be divided into two zones mainly due to the retention rate difference among Notoginsenoside R_1,Ginsenoside Rg_1,Ginsenoside Rb_1 and Ginsenoside *** 1,1000-10000;and Zone II,***,the new method would be helpful to improve the applicability of UF membrane in separation technology.

Natural product bufotenine(5)which could be isolated from Venenum Bufonis,has been widely used as a tool in central nervous system(CNS)*** present here its quaternary ammonium salt(6)which was synthesized with high yields using 5-benzyloxyindole as raw materials,and we firstly discover its analgesic effects in *** analgesic evaluation showed that compounds 5 and 6 had stronger effects on the behavior of formalin induced pain in ***,the combination of compound 6 and morphine has a synergistic *** intended to explain the molecular mechanism of this ***,36 analgesic-related targets(including 15 G protein-coupled receptors,6 enzymes,13 ion channels,and 2 others)were systemically evaluated using reverse *** results indicate that bufotenine and its derivatives are closely related to acetyl cholinesterase(AChE)orα_(4)β_(2) nicotinic acetylcholine receptor(nAChR).This study provides practitioners a new insight of analgesic effects.

Antipyretic and anti-inflammatory activities of Thais luteostoma extracts and underlying mechanisms

Thais luteostoma has been utilized as a crude drug whose shell and soft tissue have been widely used for the treatment of heat syndrome in China for thousands of years. The present study was designed to investigate the antipyretic and anti-inflammatory activities of T. luteostoma. T. luteostoma was divided into shell （TLSH） and soft tissue （TLST） samples in the present study. The rat model of yeast-induced fever was used to investigate their antipyretic effects; and the rat model of hind paw edema induced by carrageenan was utilized to study their anti-inflammatory activities, and at the same time, the concentration variations of the central neurotransmitter [prostaglandin E2 （PGE2） and cyclic adenosine monophosphate （cAMP）], inflammatory mediators [tumor necrosis factor （TNFα）, interleukin-1β （IL-1）, interleukin-2 （IL-2） and interleukin-6 （IL-6）] and ion （Na^＋ and Ca^2＋） were also tested. The results showed that TLSH and TLST extracts significantly inhibited yeast-induced pyrexia in rats （P 〈 0.05）, and exhibited more lasting effects as compared to aspirin, and TLSH had the better antipyretic activity than TLST, and that TLSH and TLST could significantly prevent against carrageenan induced paw edema in rats （P 〈 0.05）; and markedly reduced levels of PGE2, cAMP, TNFα, IL-1β, IL-2, IL-6, and Na^＋/Ca^2＋. In fever model, TLST could significantly reduce the levels of PGE2 （P 〈 0.01） in rats＇ homogenate and TNF a （P 〈 0.05）, IL-113 （P 〈 0.01） in the plasma than TLSH, whereas TLSH could reduce the content of IL-2 （P 〈 0.01） and IL-6 （P 〈 0.01） in plasma and increase the content of Ca2＋（P 〈 0.01） in plasma and homogenate more significantly than TLST. In conclusion, T. luteostoma extract has antipyretie and anti-inflammatory activities, which may be mediated through the suppression of production of PGE2, cAMP, Na^＋/Ca^2＋ , TNF a, IL-1β, IL-2, and IL-6.

Characterization of molecular signature of the roots of Paeonia lactiflora during growth

The roots of Paeoniae lactiflora *** widely consumed as crude drugs in Asian countries due to their remarkable beneficial health *** present research was undertaken to illuminate the dynamic changes in metabolites and enzymes and facilitate selection of the harvesting time when the herb can provide optimum health *** roots were analyzed at 12 stages of growth for monoterpenoid glycosides,phenols,nucleosides,nucleobases,amino acids,and polysaccharides by high-performance liquid chromatography with photodiode array detector,ultra-high pressure liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry,and UV *** enzyme activities of plant β-glucosidases and esterases were determined by UV *** total content of monoterpenoid glycosides and phenols peaked in *** nucleosides and nucleobases,the highest content appeared in *** maximum phasic accumulation of the total amino acids took place in March,and the content of total polysaccharides reached a peak value in ***,April,and March were selected as the appropriate harvesting times for producing natural medicinal or health food *** β-glucosidases and esterases showed the highest activity in December and May,*** the activity of β-glucosidase increased,esterase activity decreased,while the contents of oxypaeoniflora and paeoniflorin *** esterase activity increased,the contents of benzoylpaeoniflorin,paeoniflorin,and gallic acid *** conclusion,the results from the present study would be useful in determination of the suitable time for harvesting *** roots for medicinal purposes.

Engineering of Fe d-band center in Fe_(3)O_(4)/CeO_(2)hetero-nanoparticles via orbital coupling for high-efficiency oxygen reduction electrocatalysis

The deliberate engineering of the d-band center of metal site represents an effective strategy to boost the intrinsic electrocatalytic performance toward the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR).Herein,following a heterointerfaceinduced orbital coupling rationale,we report a judicious design of an efficient ORR electrocatalyst consisting of Fe_(3)O_(4)/CeO_(2)hetero-nanoparticles in-situ encased into N-doped carbon nanofibers(abbreviated as Fe_(3)O_(4)/CeO_(2)@N-CNFs hereafter).The theoretic calculations uncover that the Fe_(3)O_(4)/CeO_(2)heterointerface-triggered orbital coupling can cause the down shift of the d-band center positions of Fe sites,which leads to the weakened chemisorption of oxygenated groups and lowered energy barrier for the potential-determining step,ultimately dramatically boosting the ORR intrinsic *** a consequence,the well-designed Fe_(3)O_(4)/CeO_(2)@N-CNFs display admirable ORR activity with a half-wave potential of 0.84 V and outstanding structural/electrochemical stability in an alkaline electrolyte,surpassing the commercial Pt/C benchmark and a majority of recently reported Fe_(3)O_(4)-based *** encouragingly,the Fe_(3)O_(4)/CeO_(2)@N-CNFsincorporated Zn-air battery outperforms the Pt/C-assembled counterpart with higher power density,larger energy density,and excellent cycling stability,serving as a competent candidate for ORR-involved renewable energy *** study offers an innovative approach for the rational manipulation of the d-band center and interfacial electron behavior of active sites toward the optimization of electrocatalytic performance.
