Studies on ecological monitoring of Plant Community and Plant Diversity in Shenzhen, Southern China

From Jan. 2013 to Nov. 2018, we carried out the investigation on vegetation studies in the ecological monitoring programs, Shenzhen and totally researched 170 plant communities of mountain areas etc., few areas of street regions and parks etc., for communities’ structural characteristics and plant diversity. We comparatively analyzed natural forests, semi-natural forest and artificial forest composition and structural characters and family, genus and species diversity level and the main affected factors. We also researched and analyzed these communities’ structural characteristics and pant diversity, comparatively analyzed natural forests, semi-natural forest and artificial forest composition and structural characters and family, genus and species diversity level, the main affected factors;researched and analyzed the relationship between plant community structure characteristics with the absorbing ability to PM2.5 pollutants. The result showed that the structure and plant diversity of natural forest were obviously better than artificial disturbed forest or artificial forest, the semi-natural forest was the middle level of the forests, In the indices of height, DBH, coverage and crow width etc. of tree layer, natural forests and semi-natural forests were obvious

Mesoscale soil moisture survey by mobile cosmic-ray neutron sensor across various landscapes in the Heihe River Basin

The cosmic-ray neutron technology is a novel method for upscaling soil moisture,holding significant importance in drought monitoring,soil water storage estimation,calibration of remote sensing products,and data assimilation of land surface ***,most studies conducted soil moisture measurement experiments using static Cosmic-Ray Neutron Sensors(CRNS)and are often limited to a single landscape,lacking in-situ measurement for the cosmic-ray neutron rover across various *** study carried out soil moisture observation experiments using a cosmic-ray neutron rover in nine grassland plots,nine farmland plots,and nine desert plots of the Heihe River Basin,Northwest *** neutron counts displayed clear variations among different plots,and an equation could represent the relationship between neutron intensity and multiple variables near the *** parameter N0 was the smallest for grassland and greatest for desert,and there was a significant negative correlation between Normalized Difference Vegetation Index and N0(P<0.05).Furthermore,the performance of CRNS notably improved after considering soil lattice water and soil organic *** Root Mean Square Error(RMSE)between the measured and oven-dried soil moisture increased with *** moisture measured by CRNS strongly supported the 100 m diameter footprint assumption(RMSE<0.044 g/g).The study offers valuable insights into the application and promotion of cosmic-ray neutron technology across various landscapes within a basin.

Background Understanding of the ratio of photosynthetic photon flux density（Qp） to global solar radiation（Rs）(Qp/Rs) is crucial for applying Rsto ecology-related *** studies reported Qp/Rsand its variations based on measurements from a single observatory tower,instead of multi-site-based measurements over complex *** may neglect spatial heterogeneity in the terrain,creating a gap in an understanding of how terrain affects Qp/Rsand how this effect interacts with meteorological *** Here the Qingyuan Ker Towers（three towers in a valley with different terrains:T1,T2,and T3） were utilized to measure Qpand Rsover mountainous forests of Northeast *** airborne LiDAR system was used to generate a digital elevation model,and sky view factor of sectors（SVFs） divided from the field of view of tower's pyranometer was calculated as a topographic factor to explain the variations of Qp/*** The results identified significant differences in Qp/Rsof the three towers at both daily and half-hour scales,with larger differences on clear days than on overcast ***/Rswas positively correlated with SVFsof T1 and T3,while this correlation was negative with that of *** effect of SVFson Qp/Rsinteracted with clearness index,water vapor pressure and solar zenith *** forest-based importance assessment demonstrated that explanation（R2） on Qp/Rswas improved when SVFswas included in the predictor variable set,indicating that incorporating terrain effects enhances the prediction accuracy of Qp/*** improvement in the R2values was more pronounced on clear days than on overcast days,suggesting that the effect of terrain on Qp/Rsdepended on sky *** All findings suggested that Qp/Rsis affected by terrain,and integrating terrain information into existing Qp/Rsmodels is a feasible solution to improve Qp/Rsestimates in mountainous areas.

Comprehensive Management and Protection of Lakes in Kaifeng

Through analysing pollution source and status quo of the main lakes in Kaifeng,such as Dragon Pavilion Lake and Baogong Lake,the conclusion is that Kaifeng＇s lake environment has been in a greater pollution condition. For lake pollution situation,we put forward comprehensive management and protection approaches of lakes,including the relocation of businesses around the lake,plugging the sewage outfall surrounding lakes,dredging and deeply digging to increase the water environment capacity of lake. By dredging the river,the lakes in urban district connect together. Controlling aquaculture scale of lakes,the ecological function of the lake is played. Constructing drainage network around the lake,integration of landscape and lake flood control is formed. Adding new water into lakes,stagnant water becomes flowing water. We sum up the experience of lake management and protection： strengthening protection awareness is the key; lake remediation is the fundamental; attention to ecological protection of the lake is the most important factor in the development of lakes; exploiting a variety of functions of the lakes including landscaping,tourism,recreation,aquaculture,public health is the goal.

Effect of K_(2)CO_(3) doping on CO_(2) sorption performance of silicate lithium-based sorbent prepared from citric acid treated sediment

In this paper,a low-cost and environmental-friendly leaching agent citric acid(C_(6)H_(8)O_(7))was used to treat the sediment of Dianchi Lake(SDL)to synthesize lithium silicate(Li_(4)SiO_(4))based CO_(2)*** results were compared with that treated with strong ***,the effects of preparation conditions,sorption conditions and desorption conditions on the CO_(2)sorption performance of prepared Li_(4)SiO_(4)were systematically *** optimal conditions,the Li_(4)SiO_(4)sorbent was successfully synthesized and its CO_(2)sorption capacity reached 31.37%(mass),which is much higher than that synthesized from SDL treated with strong *** is speculated that the presence of some elements after C_(6)H_(8)O_(7)treatment may promote the sorption of synthetic Li_(4)SiO_(4)to CO_(2).In addition,after doping with K_(2)CO_(3),the CO_(2)uptake increases from the original 12.02%and 22.12%to 23.96%and 32.41%(mass)under the 20%and 50%CO_(2)partial pressure,*** importantly,after doping K_(2)CO_(3),the synthesized Li_(4)SiO_(4)has a high cyclic stability under the low CO_(2)partial pressure.

Many animals migrate during the breeding *** is important to study the patterns of breeding migration of wild animals,especially rare and endangered ***,current data acquisition methods are too coarse and imprecise for investigating the circadian rhythms of migrations in *** on the frustrated total reflection image(FTRI),we developed a new device and recorded the precise migration time of an endangered salamander,Liangshantriton *** the breeding period,a total of 33 individuals were effectively *** of the data indicated that the circadian rhythm of breeding migration in *** was bimodal,and migration mainly occurred from 05:00 to 13:00(81.82%of the total migration records).The average relative activity intensity index(RAI)of breeding migration peaked in the temperature range of 14.0–16.0°*** increased average relative air humidity,the activity intensity first increased and then decreased,reaching a peak in the humidity range of 91.0%–97.0%.These results demonstrate that our new device is a viable and accurate method for recording the migration time of target *** is important to reveal the breeding migration pattern of ***,which is important for the conservation of this ***,this new device can be used for field monitoring and conservation studies of amphibians,reptiles and other animals.

The Electromagnetic Compatibility between FAST and Public Mobile Communication stations and its Cognitive Using Frequency Strategy

To master the electromagnetic environment characteristics around the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope(FAST)and ensure a better ecological environment in the radio-quiet zone of FAST,we analyzed the radiation characteristics of the public communication stations around *** comparing the FAST received signal power from the communication stations and the interference protection threshold of the radio astronomy applications,we found that the total proportion of the communication stations exceeding the radio astronomy protection threshold is 69.01%.Furthermore,to fully protect the regular operation of FAST,we proposed four interference avoidance and frequency coordination strategies based on the cognitive ***:(1)increasing the operating frequency of the communication station;(2)adjusting the direction of the transmitter antennas;(3)reducing the height of the transmitter antennas;(4)decreasing the transmitting power of the communication *** a result,the impact on FAST can effectively be reduced,and the FAST's received power from the communication stations will be lower than the radio astronomy protection threshold by using the above mentioned four *** the analysis of the experiment,the prediction is consistent with the overall trend of the measurement,and using frequency strategies can significantly reduce the signal power at the receiving ***,we construct a quality evaluation system for frequency coordination and analyze the satisfaction of the four strategies under the four *** results show that adjusting the direction of the transmitter antennas has better satisfaction,and the maximum satisfaction is *** above research results can be further expanded to potentially improve the electromagnetic ecological environment around FAST and support the regular operation of FAST.

Microbial ecological associations in the surface sediments of Bohai Strait

Microbial communities play key roles in the marine ecosystem. Despite a few studies on marine microbial communities in deep straits, ecological associations among microbial communities in the sediments of shallow straits have not been fully investigated. The Bohai Strait in northern China(average depth less than 20 m) separates the Bohai Sea from the Yellow Sea and has organic-rich sediments. In this study, in the summer of 2014, six stations across the strait were selected to explore the taxonomic composition of microbial communities and their ecological associations. The four most abundant classes were Gammaproteobacteria, Deltaproteobacteria, Bacilli and Flavobacteriia. Temperature, total carbon, depth, nitrate, fishery breeding and cold water masses influenced the microbial communities, as suggested by representational dif ference and composition analyses. Network analysis of microbial associations revealed that key families included Flavobacteriaceae, Pirellulaceae and Piscirickettsiaceae. Our findings suggest that the families with high phylogenetic diversity are key populations in the microbial association network that ensure the stability of microbial ecosystems. Our study contributes to a better understanding of microbial ecology in complex hydrological environments.

Bird songs are considered a sexually selected trait that can reflect the individual health of males as well as the vitality of potential mates and their *** features should,therefore,be related to parasite load and body ***,we performed a thorough acoustic analysis of the display calls of 9-month-old sub-adults and 18-month-old adults of pasture-raised red junglefowls Gallus *** investigated whether the calls of pasture-raised red junglefowls can indicate body size and body condition,in addition to the influence of parasitic infection intensity on the expression of sexual *** found that frequency-related syllable parameters were significantly positively correlated with wing length in adults,whereas body weight was independent of both the frequency and temporal parameters of *** addition,we correlated parasitic load with the expression of sexually selected traits and discovered a positive association between the intensity of parasite infection and wing length in sub-adults,independent of vocal ***,the results suggest that the vocalization of red junglefowls may convey reliable body size information,which will facilitate further studies of different vocal parameters in the transmission of bird vocalizations.
