This study investigates the application of carbon dioxide (CO2) sequestration to address challenges in water-drive gas reservoirs, specifically focusing on improving gas recovery and mitigating water invasion. Traditional methods like blow-down and co-production have limitations, including sand production, water coning, and inefficiency in strong aquifers. To overcome these issues, this research explores CO2 injection near the edge aquifer, aiming to reduce water influx and enhance gas recovery through the propagation of a CO2 plume in the gas-water contact zone. Both synthetic and real compositional reservoir models were studied, with CO2 injection performed while maintaining reservoir pressure below 90% of the initial level. Results show that CO2 sequestration significantly improved recovery, particularly in higher permeability reservoirs, where it reduced aquifer influx and increased gas production by 26% under challenging conditions. While CO2 dissolution in water decreased aquifer influx by 39%, its adverse effect on sweep efficiency led to a reduction in gas and water production by 4.2% and 10%, respectively. The method's effectiveness was not significantly impacted by aquifer permeability, but it was sensitive to vertical-to-horizontal permeability ratios. When applied to a real gas reservoir, the proposed method increased gas production by 14% compared to conventional techniques, with minimal CO2 production over a 112-year period. This study demonstrates the potential of CO2 sequestration as a comprehensive solution for enhancing gas recovery, reducing water production, and mitigating environmental impacts in water-drive gas reservoirs.

To discuss the potential role of iridium(Ir)nanoparticles loaded under atmospheric and high pressures,we prepared a series of cata-lysts with the same active phase but different contents of 10wt%,20wt%,and 30wt%on gamma-alumina for decomposition of ***-der atmospheric pressure,the performance of the catalyst was better when 30wt%of the Ir nanoparticles was used with chelating agent that had greater selectivity of approximately 27%.The increase in the reaction rate from 175 to 220 h^(−1)at higher Ir loading(30wt%)was due to a good dispersion of high-number active phases rather than an agglomeration *** a satisfactory result of this investigation at high pressure,Ir catalysts with different weight percentages showed the same stability against crushing and activity with a characteristic velocity of approxim-ately 1300 m/s.

Deactivation studies of bifunctional Fe-HZSM5 catalyst in Fischer-Tropsch process

A physical mixture of alkali-promoted iron catalyst with binder based on Fischer-Tropsch synthesis and an acidic co-catalyst （HZSM5） for syngas conversion to hydrocarbons was studied in a fixed bed micro reactor. Deactivation data were obtained during the synthesis over a 1400 h period. The deactivation studies on iron catalyst showed that this trend followed the phase transformation Fe2.2C （ ε′） → Fe5C2 （χ） → Fe3C （θ）, and the final predominant phase of the catalyst was Fe3C （θ）. Deactivation of zeolite component in bifunctional catalyst may be caused by coking over the zeolitic component, dealumination of zeolite crystals, and migration of alkali promoters from iron catalyst under synthesis conditions. The deactivation rate of iron catalyst was also obtained.

Working memory is a core cognitive function that supports goal-directed behavior and complex *** developed a spatial working memory and attention test on paired symbols(SWAPS)which has been proved to be a useful and valid tool for spatial working memory and attention studies in the fields of cognitive psychology,education,and *** repeated administration of working memory capacity tests is common in clinical and research *** suggest that repeated cognitive tests may improve the performance scores also known as retest *** systematic investigation of retest effects in SWAPS is critical for interpreting scientific results,but it is still not fully *** address this,we recruited 77 college students aged 18–21 years and used SWAPS comprising 72 trials with different memory loads,learning time,and delay *** repeated the test once a week for five weeks to investigate the retest effects of *** were significant retest effects in the first two tests:the accuracy of the SWAPS tests significantly increased,and then *** findings provide useful information for researchers to appropriately use or interpret the repeated working memory *** experiments are still needed to clarify the factors that mediate the retest effects,and find out the cognitive mechanism that influences the retest effects.

OBJECTIVE: To enhance the understanding of identifying personalized pharmacotherapy options in Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM), and further support the registration of new TCM drugs. METHODS: Generalized Boosted Models and XGBoost were employed to construct a classification model to identify the bad prognosis factors in resistant hypertension(RH) patients. Furthermore, we used association analysis to explore the rules of "symptomsyndrome" and "symptom-herb" for the major influencing factors, in order to summarize prescription pattern and applicable patients of TCM. RESULTS: Patients with major adverse cardiac events mostly have complex symptoms of phlegm, stasis, deficiency and fire intermingled with each other, and finally summarized the human experience of using Chinese herbal medicine to precisely intervene in some symptoms of RH patients on the basis of conventional Western medical treatment. CONCLUSIONS: Machine learning algorithms can make full use of human use experience and evidence to save clinical trial resources and accelerate the development of TCM varieties.

The seismic behavior of horizontally curved bridges,particularly with unequal height piers,is more complicated than that of straight bridges due to their geometric *** this study,the seismic responses of several horizontally curved single-column-bent viaducts with various degrees of curvature and different pier heights have been investigated,employing three different analysis approaches:namely,modal pushover analysis,uniform load method,and nonlinear time history *** the investigated bridge configurations and utilizing the most common regularity indices,the results indicate that viaducts with 45-degree and 90-degree deck subtended angles can be categorized as regular and moderately irregular,respectively,while the bridges with 180-degree deck subtended angle are found to be highly ***,the viaducts whose pier heights are asymmetric may be considered as irregular for almost all ranges of the deck subtended *** effects of higher transverse and longitudinal modes are discussed and the minimum analysis requirements are identified to assess the seismic response of such bridge configurations for design *** the Regularity Indices used here are useful tools to distinguish between regular and irregular bridges,further studies are needed to improve their reliability.

Astragali Radix(AR) and Notoginseng Radix et Rhizoma(NR) are frequently employed in cardiovascular disease treatment. However, the efficacy of the AR-NR medicine pair(AN) in improving cardiac remodeling and its underlying mechanism remains unclear. This study aimed to evaluate AN's cardioprotective effect and potential mechanism on cardiac remodeling using transverse aortic constriction(TAC) in mice and angiotensin II(Ang II)-induced neonatal rat cardiomyocytes(NRCMs) and fibroblasts in vitro. High-performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole-time of flight tandem mass spectrometry(HPLC-Q-TOF-MS/MS) characterized 23 main components of AN. AN significantly improved cardiac function in the TAC-induced mice. Furthermore, AN considerably reduced the serum levels of N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide(NT-pro BNP), cardiac troponin T(CTn-T), and interleukin-6(IL-6) and mitigated inflammatory cell infiltration. Post-AN treatment, TAC-induced heart size approached normal. AN decreased cardiomyocyte cross-sectional area and attenuated the upregulation of cardiac hypertrophy marker genes(ANP, BNP, and MYH7) in vivo and in ***, AN alleviated collagen deposition in TAC-induced mice. AN also reduced the expression of fibrosis-related indicators(COL1A1 and COL3A1) and inhibited the activation of the transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1)/mothers against decapentaplegic homolog 3(Smad3) pathway. Thus, AN improved TAC-induced cardiac remodeling. Moreover, AN downregulated p-dynamin-related protein(Drp1)(Ser616) expression and upregulated mitogen 2(MFN-2) and optic atrophy 1(OPA1) expression in vivo and in vitro, thereby restoring mitochondrial fusion and fission balance. In conclusion, AN improves cardiac remodeling by regulating mitochondrial dynamic balance, providing experimental data for the rational application of Chinese medicine prescriptions with AN as the main component in clinical practice.
