High temperature deformation and recrystallization behavior of magnesium bicrystals with 90°<1010>and 90°<1120>tilt grain boundaries

The deformation mechanisms and dynamic recrystallization(DRX)behavior of specifically grown bicrystals with a symmetric 90°and 90°tilt grain boundary,respectively,were investigated under deformation in plane strain compression at 200℃and 400℃.The microstructures were analyzed by panoramic optical microscopy and large-area electron backscatter diffraction(EBSD)orientation *** analysis employed a meticulous approach utilizing hundreds of individual,small EBSD maps with a small step size that were stitched together to provide comprehensive access to orientation and misorientation data on a macroscopic *** slip primarily governed the early stages of deformation at the two temperatures,and the resulting shear induced lattice rotation around the transverse direction(TD)of the *** existence of the grain boundary gave rise to dislocation pile-up in its vicinity,leading to much larger TD-lattice rotations within the boundary region compared to the *** increasing temperature,the deformation was generally more uniform towards the bulk due to enhanced dislocation mobility and more uniform stress *** recrystallization at 200℃was initiated in{1011}-compression twins at strains of 40%and *** 400℃,DRX consumed the entire grain boundary region and gradually replaced the deformed microstructure with progressing *** recrystallized grains displayed characteristic orientations,such that their c-axes were perpendicular to the TD and additionally scattered between 0°and 60°from the loading *** recrystallized grains displayed mutual rotations of up to 30°around the c-axes of the initial grains,forming a discernible basal fiber texture component,prominently visible in the{1120}pole *** is noteworthy that the deformation and DRX behaviors of the two analyzed bicrystals exhibited marginal variations in response to strain and deformation temperature.

Energy-Function Based Pilot Protection Scheme for Hybrid UHVDC Transmission Applying Improved Hausdorff Distance

A hybrid UHVDC transmission system applying LCC as the rectifier and MMC as the inverter combines the advantages of both converter types,which makes this protection scheme more complicated.A new pilot protection scheme for a three-terminal hybrid DC transmission system applying energy functions is *** energy function for LCC is applied to MMC to derive the energy level of the hybrid ***,an improved Hausdorff distance(IHD)algorithm is proposed to detect the difference in energy levels between the normal and fault *** abrupt change in energy level is characterized by IHD change *** points at which the IHD change rate exceeds the threshold at converter stations are applied to determine the fault line and to estimate the fault *** proposed protection scheme is then verified by a simulation model of the Wudongde±800 kV three-terminal hybrid UHVDC transmission *** appropriate sampling frequency is selected for a real-time calculation,and the threshold is selected considering the effect of *** show the proposed scheme can identify and trip fault lines quickly and effectively,even for a 600Ωgrounding *** waveshape similarity algorithms are compared and *** with existing protection schemes,the proposed scheme transmits less data to improve communication speed and reliability.

Spatial Structure of Peer Networks and Academic Achievement Based on a Random Control Trial Experiment

This paper investigates whether changing the seating arrangement in a classroom can facilitate positive spillovers from top-performing students to others,using a field experiment conducted in a Chinese high *** study groups with balanced abilities,the treatment altered the spatial distribution by assigning the two top students to seats in the spatial center of each *** the reference groups where students were allowed to choose their own seating arrangements,the lowest performing were significantly less likely to sit next to a top student than they would be under a random *** results suggest that,in the treated groups,there could be enhanced academic spillovers from the top *** treatment especially benefited the two lowest performing students in science *** contrast,the treatment exerted negative effects on the test scores of the two middle-performing students,due to a disruption *** results suggest that the spatial layout of a peer network can have a significant impact on learning outcomes.

Establishing a mechanism for international cooperation for Fukushima nuclear-contaminated water monitoring

The Japanese government’s unilateral decision to discharge the nuclear-contaminated water from the Fukushima nuclear power plant into the ocean has caused immense nuclear safety *** the unclear contaminated water is a starting point to combat these risks and seek remedies for the rights and interests of all concerned *** establishment of a mechanism for international cooperation in this respect is necessary to handle the risks of the Fukushima nuclear-contaminated water and to lay the foundation of a framework for tackling any future disposal of nuclear-contaminated water following Japan’s *** present,the international legal systems in the spheres of nuclear safety and security,marine environmental protection,and other areas,as well as the questioning of the monitoring reports of the international Atomic Energy Agency(IAEA)by the relevant parties,the monitoring practices of historical nuclear accidents,and numerous radioactivity monitoring mechanisms have provided the institutional and practical basis for constructing such a *** mechanism can be promoted by the IAEA through its existing mechanisms or be jointly initiated by China,the Russian Federation,the Republic of Korea,the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea,and the Pacific Island countries,among other ***,this mechanism should consist of three levels:first,the framework of the basic legal system,including the cooperative principles of national sovereignty,interest-relatedness,and procedural fairness,and the signing of the Framework Convention on the Monitoring of Fukushima’s nuclear-contaminated water and its Optional Protocol;second,the organizational structure and its responsibilities,which may include the Conference of Parties as the decision-making body,the Secretariat as the central coordinating body,and the monitoring committees in various fields as specific implementing agencies;and third,specific administrative arrangements,which involve the

Design and Parameter Optimization of Zero Position Code Considering Diffraction Based on Deep Learning Generative Adversarial Networks

Absolute measurement has consistently been the primary focus in the development of precision linear and angular displace-ment *** scheme design of binary zero position codes is an important factor for absolute *** and optimizing high-bit zero position codes with over 100 bits face considerable ***,the working parameters of zero position codes[unit code width(b),distance(d),and yaw angle(α)]remarkably affect their post-installation performance,particularly in absolute positioning and limit code application in multi-degree-of-freedom measurement *** study addresses these challenges by proposing a design method for zero position codes that considers diffraction based on generative adversarial networks and aims to explore a design with increased efficiency and accuracy as well as optimization for high-bit zero position ***,the tolerance range of zero positioning per-formance for each working parameter is *** leveraging the adversarial network structure,this study generates the optimization of a 150-bit code and processes the tests of the zero position code by using simulation *** following working parameter ranges for code design are recommended on the basis of theoretical and experimental results:b greater than 10μm,d andαwithin 1000μm and 3490μrad,and avoidance of intervals with sharp changes in the full width at half *** proposed code design and parameter optimization lay a solid foundation for research and engineering appli-cations in absolute measurement field and have considerable potential for generalization and wide applicability.

Bayesian inference-based wear prediction method for plain bearings under stationary mixed-friction conditions

This study introduces a method to predict the remaining useful life(RUL)of plain bearings operating under stationary,wear-critical *** this method,the transient wear data of a coupled elastohydrodynamic lubrication(mixed-EHL)and wear simulation approach is used to parametrize a statistical,linear degradation *** method incorporates Bayesian inference to update the linear degradation model throughout the runtime and thereby consider the transient,system-dependent wear progression within the RUL prediction.A case study is used to show the suitability of the proposed *** results show that the method can be applied to three distinct types of post-wearing-in behavior:wearing-in with subsequent hydrodynamic,stationary wear,and progressive wear *** hydrodynamic operation leads to an infinite lifetime,the method is successfully applied to predict RUL in cases with stationary and progressive wear.

Oral colonic nano-drug delivery system has attracted growing attention in treating colon cancer for their excellent ***,the unique and complex structure of the gastrointestinal tract is still an obstacle to the safe delivery of drugs targeting sites in colon ***,we designed magnetically driven dual-targeted oral colonic nanoparticles loaded with chlorogenic acid using pectin and oleic acid-modified iron oxide(Fe3O4@OA).Specific degradation of pectin by pectinase produced by colonic flora and magnetic fields applied to the colon confers specific targeting of nanoparticles to the *** order to overcome the challenge of preparing magnetically driven nanoparticles with small and homogeneous particle sizes by a single conventional method,we developed the combined ultrasound-emulsification *** average particle size of the prepared nanoparticles was 81.04±1.02 nm,which showed good drug release in the simulated colonic *** vitro anticancer studies,the drug-loaded nanoparticles possess an obvious toxicity and apoptosis-inducing ability against cancer ***,the hemolysis results demonstrated the safety of the nanoplatform(PET/CGA/Fe_(3)O_(4)@OA).This work holds broad prospects as a new treatment modality for colon cancer.

Data-Based Filters for Non-Gaussian Dynamic Systems With Unknown Output Noise Covariance

This paper proposes linear and nonlinear filters for a non-Gaussian dynamic system with an unknown nominal covariance of the output *** challenge of designing a suitable filter in the presence of an unknown covariance matrix is addressed by focusing on the output data set of the *** that data generated from a Gaussian distribution exhibit ellipsoidal scattering,we first propose the weighted sum of norms(SON)clustering method that prioritizes nearby points,reduces distant point influence,and lowers computational ***,by introducing the weighted maximum likelihood,we propose a semi-definite program(SDP)to detect outliers and reduce their impacts on each *** these weights paves the way to obtain an appropriate covariance of the output ***,two filtering approaches are presented:a cluster-based robust linear filter using the maximum a posterior(MAP)estimation and a clusterbased robust nonlinear filter assuming that output noise distribution stems from some Gaussian noise resources according to the ellipsoidal *** last,simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed filtering approaches.

Crowding-in or Crowding-out:How Infrastructure Investment Affects Household Consumption

This paper constructs a dynamic model of household consumption decisions and accordingly designs empirical analyses to identify how infrastructure investment affects private *** estimation results of provincial panel data reveal that infrastructure investment can not only indirectly promote household consumption through the income channel but also directly promote household consumption expansion through the expectations channel,with a significant"crowding-in"***,the effect is significantly weaker in provinces with a lower housing supply elasticity,showing the"crowding-out"pattern through the wealth *** survey data provide an explanation for individual *** investment has a greater pushing effect on house prices in provinces with a lower housing supply *** house price growth has significant"crowding-out"effects on the consumption of wealthy *** not only significantly weakens the driving effect of infrastructure investment on aggregate household consumption,but also increases wealth inequality in the long *** paper explains how infrastructure investment affects household consumption and the corresponding role played by house prices,providing empirical evidences for theoretical studies related to macro-regulatory policies in China.
