Improvement of Cold Recycled Mixture Performance Based on Improved Density Test Method and RAP Characteristics

Multi boron-doping effects in hard carbon toward enhanced sodium ion storage

Hard carbon （HC） has been considered as promising anode material for sodium-ion batteries （SIBs）.The optimization of hard carbon’s microstructure and solid electrolyte interface （SEI） property are demonstrated effective in enhancing the Na+storage capability,however,a one-step regulation strategy to achieve simultaneous multi-scale structures optimization is highly ***,we have systematically investigated the effects of boron doping on hard carbon’s microstructure and interface chemistry.A variety of structure characterizations show that appropriate amount of boron doping can increase the size of closed pores via rearrangement of carbon layers with improved graphitization degree,which provides more Na+storage ***-situ Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy/electrochemical impedance spectroscopy （FTIR/EIS） and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy （XPS） analysis demonstrate the presence of more BC3and less B–C–O structures that result in enhanced ion diffusion kinetics and the formation of inorganic rich and robust SEI,which leads to facilitated charge transfer and excellent rate *** a result,the hard carbon anode with optimized boron doping content exhibits enhanced rate and cycling *** general,this work unravels the critical role of boron doping in optimizing the pore structure,interface chemistry and diffusion kinetics of hard carbon,which enables rational design of sodium-ion battery anode with enhanced Na+storage performance.

Preparation of Co/S co-doped carbon catalysts for excellent methylene blue degradation

S and Co co-doped carbon catalysts were prepared via pyrolysis of MOF-71 and thiourea mixtures at 800℃at a mass ratio of MOF-71 to thiourea of 1:0.1 to effectively activate peroxymonosulfate(PMS)for methylene blue(MB)*** effects of two different mixing routes were identified on the MB degradation ***,the catalyst obtained by the alcohol solvent evaporation(MOF-AEP)mixing route could degrade 95.60%MB(50 mg/L)within 4 min(degradation rate:K=0.78 min^(-1)),which was faster than that derived from the direct grinding method(MOF-DGP,80.97%,K=0.39 min^(-1)).X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy revealed that the Co-S content of MOF-AEP(43.39at%)was less than that of MOF-DGP(54.73at%),and the proportion of C-S-C in MOF-AEP(13.56at%)was higher than that of MOF-DGP(10.67at%).Density functional theory calculations revealed that the adsorption energy of Co for PMS was -2.94 eV when sulfur was doped as C-S-C on the carbon skeleton,which was higher than that when sulfur was doped next to cobalt in the form of Co-S bond(-2.86 eV).Thus,the C-S-C sites might provide more contributions to activate PMS compared with ***,the degradation parameters,including pH and MOF-AEP dosage,were ***,radical quenching experiments and electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR)measurements revealed that ^(1)O_(2)might be the primary catalytic species,whereas·O~(2-)might be the secondary one in degrading MB.

Study on the hydrogen absorption properties of a YGdTbDyHo rare-earth high-entropy alloy

This study investigated the microstructure and hydrogen absorption properties of a rare-earth high-entropy alloy(HEA),*** indicated that the YGdTbDyHo alloy had a microstructure of equiaxed grains,with the alloy elements distributed *** hydrogen absorption,the phase structure of the HEA changed from a solid solution with an hexagonal-close-packed(HCP)structure to a high-entropy hydride with an faced-centered-cubic(FCC)structure without any secondary phase *** alloy demonstrated a maximum hydrogen storage capacity of 2.33 H/M(hydrogen atom/metal atom)at 723 K,with an enthalpy change(ΔH)of-141.09 kJ·mol^(-1)and an entropy change(ΔS)of-119.14 J·mol^(-1)·K^(-1).The kinetic mechanism of hydrogen absorption was hydride nucleation and growth,with an apparent activation energy(E_(a))of 20.90 kJ·mol^(-1).Without any activation,the YGdTbDyHo alloy could absorb hydrogen quickly(180 s at 923 K)with nearly no incubation period *** reason for the obtained value of 2.33 H/M was that the hydrogen atoms occupied both tetrahedral and octahedral *** results demonstrate the potential application of HEAs as a high-capacity hydrogen storage material with a large H/M ratio,which can be used in the deuterium storage field.

Regulation the electronic density of solid-state electrolyte by donor–acceptor(D–A)system can achieve highly-selective Li^(+)transportation and conduction in solid-state Li metal *** study reports a high-performance solid-state electrolyte thorough D–A-linked covalent organic frameworks(COFs)based on intramolecular charge transfer *** other reported COFbased solid-state electrolyte,the developed concept with D–A-linked COFs not only achieves electronic modulation to promote highly-selective Li^(+)migration and inhibit Li dendrite,but also offers a crucial opportunity to understand the role of electronic density in solid-state Li metal *** introduced strong electronegativity F-based ligand in COF electrolyte results in highlyselective Li^(+)(transference number 0.83),high ionic conductivity(6.7×10^(-4)S cm^(−1)),excellent cyclic ability(1000 h)in Li metal symmetric cell and high-capacity retention in Li/LiFePO_(4)cell(90.8%for 300 cycles at 5C)than substituted C-and N-based *** is ascribed to outstanding D–A interaction between donor porphyrin and acceptor F atoms,which effectively expedites electron transferring from porphyrin to F-based ligand and enhances Li^(+)***,we anticipate that this work creates insight into the strategy for accelerating Li^(+)conduction in high-performance solid-state Li metal batteries through D–A system.

Defect elimination in green sand casting using simulation techniques:A case study

The Reynolds number of molten metal flowing mold cavity causes bulk turbulence and is the main cause of defects like shrinkage porosity and sand *** housings with shrinkage porosity at critical bearing bores and surface made the casting *** old gating casting areas of perimeters 290mm and 264mm of transmission housing,Reynolds numbers were observed as 16307 and 13806,respectively using simulation *** were collected from experiments to change casting area perimeters from 785mm and 785mm along with the addition of overlap *** Reynolds numbers at two locations were observed as 3705 and 3393,*** metal pressure,velocity and temperature results were related for final shrinkage results of the components on full *** purpose of the study is to reduce shrinkage and porosity defects in green sand casting part using MAGMAS simulation *** outcome was the reduction of casting machining rejection in transmission housing casting from 5.8%0.7%with savings of approximately 0.13 million USD over the period of 14 *** of this work include casting defects study and reduction in different grades and weight range.

Design and Operation Control for Long Campaign Life of Blast Furnaces

At the beginning of 1990s, Shougang blast furnaces （BFs） No. 2, No. 4, No. 3 and No. 1 were rebuilt se quently for new technological modernization in succession. The campaign life of BFs No. 1, No. 3 and No. 4 reaches 16.4, 17.6 and 15.6 years, respectively, and the hot metal output of one campaign reaches 33.8, 35.48 and 26.37 Mt, respectively; the hot metal output of BF effective volume of one campaign reaches 13328, 13991 and 12560 t/m^3, respectively, which reaches the international advanced level of BF high efficiency and long campaign life. In BF desig-ning, several advanced BF long campaign technologies were adopted. BF proper inner profile was optimized, reasona- ble inner profile was adopted, and closed circulating soften water cooling technology was applied in 4 BFs. Double row cooling pipe high efficiency cooling stave was developed which could prolong the service life of bosh, belly and stack. Hot pressed carbon brick and ceramic cup hearth lining structure were applied and optimized. BF operation was improved continuously to ensure stable and smooth operation of BF. Hearth working condition control was strengthened, burden distribution control technology was applied to achieve reasonable distribution of gas flow, and heat load monitoring was strengthened to maintain BF reasonable working inner profile. Proper maintenance at the end of BF campaign was enhanced. Hearth and bottom service life was prolonged by adding titaniferous material and enhancing hearth cooling. Gunning of lining was carried out periodically for the area above tuyere zone.

Phase Composition of Sputtered Film from a Mixture Target of Hydroxyapatite and Strontium-apatite

To obtain an Sr-substituted hydroxyapatite thin film, sputter-coating was performed on a cellulose filter acting as a substrate from the mixture target of hydroxyapatite （HA） and strontium-apatite （SrAp） at an Ar pressure of 0.5-5.0 Pa. The ratio of the SrAp in the mixture target was varied from 25% to 100%. After coating, the films were heated at 700 ℃ to remove the cellulose filter substrate, and the crystalline phases were identified by X-ray diffraction （XRD）. The sputter-coated film was identified as the Sr-substituted /3-tri-calcium phosphate （TCP） and the Sr-substituted/3-calcium pyrophosphate （CPP） as well as the Sr-substituted HA. The weight ratio of the Sr-substituted HA decreased with increasing Ar pressure or with an increasing ratio of SrAp to HA in the target. The average Sr/（Ca ＋ Sr） molar ratio in the film was 1.9%-3.5% slightly lower than the initial SrAp ratio of the target, and the ratio was not influenced by the Ar pressure. In the （Sr ＋ Ca）/P ratio, the ratio decreased while increasing the SrAp ratio in the target.

Karstification characteristics of the Cenomanian-Turonian Mishrif Formation in the Missan Oil Fields,southeastern Iraq,and their effects on reservoirs

The Middle Cretaceous Mishrif Formation of the Cenomanian-Turonian age is an important Middle Eastern *** studies have shown that carbonates in the Mishrif Formation are affected by karstification and are concentrated at the top of the ***,there is a lack of systematic research on the effects of karstification on the formation’s reservoir *** on core samples,scanning electron microscopy of thin sections,and geochemical analysis of C,O,and Sr isotopes from wells in the Missan Oil Fields,unconformity was identified at the top of the B21 subzone of the Mishrif *** and cast-thin-section observations indicate that there is a significant lithological difference above and below the unconformity,and dissolution pores and voids are well-developed beneath *** silt fills the intragranular pores and geopetal fabric is developed inside some mouldic pores beneath the unconformity *** isotopic values of ^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr(0.707270-0.707722)and δ^(18)O(−5.94‰—−2.32‰)suggest that the top of the B21 subzone of the Mishrif Formation has been severely affected by syngenetic *** is the key to high-quality reservoir formation and the reservoir’s oil-bearing *** study will inform oil and gas exploration in the Missan Oil Fields and in other areas with similar reservoir characteristics.

Energy saving by using asymmetric aftbodies for merchant ships–design methodology, numerical simulation and validation

The methodology and procedures are discussed on designing merchant ships to achieve fully-integrated and optimized hull-propulsion systems by using asymmetric aftbodies. Computational fluid dynamics （CFD） has been used to evaluate the powering performance through massive calculations with automatic deformation algorisms for the hull forms and the propeller blades. Comparative model tests of the designs to the optimized symmetric hull forms have been carried out to verify the efficiency gain. More than 6% improvement on the propulsive efficiency of an oil tanker has been measured during the model tests. Dedicated sea-trials show good agreement with the predicted performance from the test results.
