Accurate evaluations of the burden distribution are of critical importance to stabilize the operation of blast *** mathematical model and discrete element method(DEM)are two attractive methods for predicting burden *** on DEM,the initial velocities of the pellet,sinter,and co.e were calculated,and the velocity attenuations of the above three particles between the burden and the chute were *** initial velocity and velocity attenuation were applied to a mathematical model for improving the ***,based on the improved model,a scheme for rectifying the chute angles was proposed to address the fluctuation of the stock line and maintain a stable burden *** validity of the scheme was co.firmed via a stable burden distribution under different stock *** mathematical model has been successfully applied to evaluate the online burden distribution and co.e with the fluctuation of the stock line.

The crust floats above the mantle, and the volume change of the mantle is the driving force of crustal movement. The increase in mantle volume leads to crustal extensional movement, resulting in co.tinental crust rupture and oceanic crust expansion. The decrease in mantle volume leads to crustal co.pression movement, resulting in co.tinental crust superposition, folding, and oceanic crust subduction. The factors that co.tribute to the increase in mantle volume include a change in material state, where solid material in the mantle melts into liquid material. The factors leading to a decrease in mantle volume include: oceanic crust uplift, crustal crystallization, volcanic eruptions, magma intrusion, and hydrothermal upwelling. The change in mantle volume dominates the evolution pattern of the crust. When the mantle volume increases unidirectionally, the crust only has horizontally crystallized co.tinental crust. When the volume of the mantle changes in both directions, blocky layered oceanic crust is formed. The expansion and subduction of oceanic crust, as well as the stretching and co.pression of co.tinental crust, are the supporting mechanisms for changes in Earth’s surface area caused by changes in mantle volume.

Reducing co.e use is an effective measure to reduce carbon emission and energy co.sumption in the blast furnace(BF)***,BF is a high-temperature moving bed reactor,where co.plex physical transformations co.pled with co.plicated reactions *** makes it challenging to investigate the factors determining BF performance with the co.ventional method.A multi-physical field co.pling mathematical model of BF was thus developed to describe its mass and heat transfer as well as its intrinsic ***,the proposed model was validated with the production *** co.pling co.ditions,influences of dominating reactions on BF performance(temperature distribution,gas distribution,iron formation reaction,and direct reduction degree)were *** results indicated that co.e co.bustion,indirect reduction,and direct reduction of iron ore mainly took place nearby the shaft tuyere,co.esive zone,and dripping zone,***,the rate of co.e solution loss reaction was increased with the rising co.e porosity in the co.esive *** the effect of co.e porosity on the efficiency and stability of BF,the co.e porosity of 0.42 was regarded as a reasonable value.

Microplastics(MPs;co.e one of the most prominent global environmental pollution *** can spread to high altitudes through atmospheric transport and can be deposited by rainfall or snowfall,potentially threatening the structure and function of natural *** in terrestrial and aquatic eco.ystems alter the growth and functional characteristics of ***,little attention has been given to the possible harm associated with MPs deposited in snow,particularly in the co.text of global climate *** co.lected from surface snow in the Inner Mongolia Plateau,China,were used for quantitative analysis and *** results showed that MPs were easily detected,and the related co.centration was approximately(68±10)–(199±22)MPsL1 in snow *** were the most co.mon morphology,the polymer co.position was largely varied,and the abundance and co.position of MPs were linked to human activity to a great ***-throughput sequencing results showed that the co.position and abundance of microorganisms also differed in snow samples from areas with different MP pollution characteristics,indicating a co.siderable difference in microbial functional *** may have an interference effect on the individual growth and functional expression of microorganisms in *** addition,the results showed that functional living areas(e.g.,landfills and suburban areas)in cities play an important role in the properties of *** instance,the highest abundance of MPs was found in thermal power plants,whereas the abundance of polymers per sample was significantly lower in the suburban *** MP co.taminants hidden in snow can alter microbial structure and function and are therefore a potential threat to eco.ystem health.

The leader propagation is one of the most important stages in long air gap *** mechanism behind leader re-illumination remains *** high humidity co.ditions(20.0–30.1 g/m^(3)),we have co.ducted experiments of long sparks in a 10 m ultra-high voltage(UHV)transmission line gap under switching impulse *** positive leaders predominantly propagate disco.tinuously,with almost no significantly co.tinuous propagation *** leader channels are intensely luminous and each elongation segment is straight,with streamers resembling the“branch type”which differs from the“diffuse type”streamers at the front of co.tinuous propagation *** distribution of the propagation velocities is highly random(3.7–18.4 cm/μs),and the average velocity(9.2 cm/μs)significantly exceeds that of co.tinuous propagation(1.5–2.0 cm/μs).Analysis suggests that the current-velocity models suitable for co.tinuous leader propagation do not align well with the experimental data in re-illumination *** on the discharge current waveforms and optical images,it is speculated that the newly elongated leader in re-illumination mode does not evolve gradually from the stem(about 1 cm)but rather evolves overall from a thermal channel much longer than stem.
