In this paper we report the optimal design and fabrication of a gold-on-silica linear segmented surface-electrode ion trap. By optimizing the thickness and width of the electrodes, we improved the trapping ability and trap scalability. By using some practical experimental operation methods, we successfully minimized the trap heating rate. Consequently, we could trap a string of up to 38 ions, and a zigzag structure with 24 ions, and transport two trapped ions to different zones. We also studied the influences of the ion chip surface on the ion lifetime. The excellent trapping ability and flexibility of operation of the planar ion trap shows that it has high feasibility for application in the development a practical quantum information processor or quantum simulator.

The de Sitter invariant Special Relativity （dS-SR） is SR with constant curvature, and a natural extension of usual Einstein SR （E-SR）. In this paper, we solve the dS-SR Dirac equation of Hydrogen by means of the adiabatic approach and the quasi-stationary perturbation calculations of QM. Hydrogen atom is located in the light cone of the Universe. FRW metric and ACDM cosmological model are used to discuss this issue. To the atom, effects of de Sitter space-time geometry described by Beltrami metric are taken into account. The dS-SR Dirac equation turns out to be a time dependent quantum Hamiltonian system. We reveal that：（i） The fundamental physics constants me, h, e variate adiabatically along with cosmologic time in dS-SR QM framework. But the fine-structure constant α≡ - e^2/（hc） keeps to be invariant; （ii）（2s^1/2 - 2p^1/2）-splitting due to dS-SR QM effects： By means of perturbation theory, that splitting △E（z） are calculated analytically, which belongs to O（1/R^2）-physics of dS-SR QM. Numerically, we find that when ｜R｜ = {103 Gly, 104 Gly, 105 Gly}, and z = {1, or 2}, the AE（z）〉〉 1 （Lamb shift）. This indicates that for these cases the hyperfine structure effects due to QED could be ignored, and the dS-SR fine structure effects are dominant. This effect could be used to determine the universal constant R in dS-SR, and be thought as a new physics beyond E-SR.

This is a follow of previous work entitled "One Electron Atom in Special Relativity with de Sitter SpaceTime Symmetry" [Commun. Theor. Phys. 57(2012) 930]. In this paper, we consider the higher order calculations and contributions in the previous framework to solve one electron atoms in de Sitter invariant relativistic quantum mechanics. The next-to-leading-order calculations in 1/R2-expansions show that the fine-structure constant α is variant with cosmologic time going by in the de Sitter invariant special relativistic quantum mechanics with standard FRW cosmologic model.

Lithium batteries have been essential technologies and become an integral part of our daily lives, powering a range of devices from phones to electric vehicles. To fully understand and optimize the performance of lithium batteries, it is necessary to investigate their internal states and processes through various characterization methods. Neutron imaging has been an indispensable complementary characterization technique to X-ray imaging or electron microscopy because of the unique interaction principle between neutrons and matter. It provides particular insights into the various states of matter inside lithium batteries,including the Li+concentration in solid electrodes, the Li plating/stripping behavior of Li-metal anodes,the Li+diffusion in solid ionic conductors, the distribution of liquid electrolytes and the generation of *** review aims to highlight the capabilities and advantages of neutron imaging in characterizing lithium batteries, as well as its current state of application in this field. Additionally, we discuss the potential of neutron imaging to contribute to the ongoing development of advanced batteries through its ability to visualize internal evolution.

Gd203：Dy3＋ nanocrystals were synthesized via solvothermal method followed by a subsequent calcination. The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction （XRD）, transmission electron microsopy （TEM）, Electronic dispersive X-ray spectroscopy （EDX）, photoluminescence （PL） spectrum and decay curves. The effect of the annealing temperature on the crystallinity and particle size was studied; heat treatment improved the crystallinity of as-prepared nanocrystals as well as increased their particle size. The nanocryatals presented monodispersed spherical shape under TEM. Photoluminescence spectra showed that nanocrystal exhibited strong yellow emission corresponding to 4F9/2----6HI3/2 transition （573 nm） of Dy3＋ under UV light excitation, which broadened with the particle size decreased without structure changed. The theoretical mechanism of luminescence was explored and surface effect was thought to be the main reason.

A dip of the transverse component of the magnetic moment as a function of resonance frequency-detuning will emerge when the intensity of oscillating magnetic field exceeds a specific value, which is demonstrated theoretically and experimentally. The linewidth of magnetic-resonance signal can be much smaller than when the Mx–MR magnetometer operates on condition that the intensity of oscillating magnetic field is smaller than this specific value, and the Mx–MR magnetometer can possess a much higher signal-to-noise ratio. The experimental result shows that the sensitivity of Mx–MR magnetometer can be improved by an order of magnitude under this condition.

Graphene is the most attractive carbon-based material at present and attracting increasing attention as promising candidates for applications in numerous areas, because of its extraordinary chemical, thermal and mechanical properties. In this paper, we discussed an innovative and simple method to synthesize titanium dioxide （TiO2） nanoclusters, using graphene as a mid-step template not as a component of final product. Using this method, the graphene was firstly fully coated with TiO2 nanoparticles by the thermal decomposition of titanium （IV） isopropoxide in a supercritical carbon dioxide （SC-CO2） at 200 ℃; the developed TiO2/graphene composites then were heated in an oxygen atmosphere. Eventually the TiO2 nanoclusters were obtained. The prepared TiO2 nanoclusters showed irregular features with high surface coverage, providing promises in a wide range of applications, especially for photo-degradation of organic compounds in aqueous solution under the radiation of UV-light.
