An in-depth mechanism in zonal activation of CO_(2)and H2molecular over dual-active sites has not been revealed ***,Ni-Co-MgO was rationally constructed to elucidate the CO_(2)methanation *** abundant surface nickel and cobalt components as active sites led to strong Ni-Co interaction with charge transfer from nickel to ***,electron-enriched Coδ-species participated in efficient chemisorption and activation of CO_(2)to generate monodentate ***,plentiful available Ni0sites facilitated H2dissociation,thus CO_(2)and H2were smoothly activated at zones of Coδ-species and Ni0,*** in situ DRIFTS,quasi situ XPS,TPSR,and DFT calculations substantiated a new formate evolution mechanism via monodentate carbonate instead of traditional bidentate carbonate based on synergistic catalysis of Coδ-species and *** zonal activation of CO_(2)and H2by tuning electron behaviors of double-center catalysts can boost heterogeneous catalytic hydrogenation performance.

Developing highly active oxygen evolution reaction（OER） electrocatalysts with robust durability is essential in producing high-purity hydrogen through water electrolysis. Layered double hydroxide（LDH） based catalysts have demonstrated efficient catalytic performance toward the relatively sluggish OER. By considering the promotion effect of phosphate（Pi） on proton transfer, herein, a facile phosphate acid（PA）surface-neutralization strategy is developed to in-situ construct NiCo-LDH/NiCoPi hetero-sheets toward OER catalysis. OER activity of NiCoLDH is significantly boosted due to the proton promotion effect and the electronic modulation effect of NiCoPi. As a result, the facilely prepared NiCo-LDH/NiCoPi catalyst displays superior OER catalytic activity with a low overpotential of 300 mV to deliver 100 mA cm-2OER and a Tafel slope of 73 mV dec-1. Furthermore, no visible activity decay is detected after a 200-h continuous OER operation. The present work,therefore, provides a promising strategy to exploit robust OER electrocatalysts for commercial water electrolysers.

We theoretically investigate coherent scattering of single photons and quantum entanglement of two giant atoms with azimuthal angle differences in a waveguide *** the real-space Hamiltonian,analytical expressions are derived for the transport spectra scattered by these two giant atoms with four azimuthal ***-like resonance can be exhibited in the scattering spectra by adjusting the azimuthal angle *** concurrence of the entangled state for two atoms can be implemented in a wide angle-difference range,and the entanglement of the atomic states can be switched on/off by modulating the additional azimuthal angle differences from the giant *** suggests a novel handle to effectively control the single-photon scattering and quantum entanglement.

Sulfidated nano zero-valent iron particles were immobilized on ZSM-5 zeolite(Z/S-nZⅥ)and used for hexavalent chromium(Cr(Ⅵ))*** performance of Z/S-nZⅥimproved with the increase in Cr(Ⅵ)concentration(0.6).Moreover,the removal mechanisms of Cr(Ⅵ)were elucidated through XRD,transmission electron microscopy(TEM)and XPS *** results demonstrate that the species of chromium in the critical layer changed from Cr(Ⅲ)to Cr(Ⅵ)as the concentration of chromium increased from low to ***,the critical layer was composed of Cr(Ⅵ),Fe(Ⅱ),O and H ***,the experiments of coexisting ions and aging time confirmed that Z/S-nZⅥpossessed high selectivity and stability to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness in practical applications.

The simultaneous investigation on the parameters affecting the flow of electrically conductive fluids such as volumetric radiation,heat absorption,heat generation,and magnetic field(MF)is very vital due to its existence in various sectors of industry and *** present research focuses on mathematical modeling to simulate the cooling of a hot component through power-law(PL)nanofluid convection *** temperature reduction of the hot component inside a two-dimensional(2D)inclined chamber with two different cold wall shapes is *** formulation of the problem is derived with the lattice Boltzmann method(LBM)by code writing via the FORTRAN *** variables such as the radiation parameter(0–1),the Hartmann number(0–75),the heat absorption/generation coefficient(−5–5),the fluid behavioral index(0.8–1.2),the Rayleigh number(103–105),the imposed MF angle(0°–90°),the chamber inclination angle(−90°–90°),and the cavity cold wall shape(smooth and curved)are *** findings indicate that the presence of radiation increases the mean Nusselt number value for the shear-thickening,Newtonian,and shear thinning fluids by about 6.2%,4%,and 2%,*** most cases,the presence of nanoparticles improves the heat transfer(HT)rate,especially in the cases where thermal conduction dominates *** is the lowest cooling performance index and MF effect for the cavity placed at an angle of 90°.The application in the design of electronic coolers and solar collectors is one of the practical cases of this numerical research.

The hybrid of carbon nanotube(CNT)and reduced graphene oxide(RGO)reinforced ZK61 composite was fabricated by a hot extrusion *** with the raw ZK61 alloy and single-reinforced composites,the hybrid-reinforced by RGO+CNT complex exhibited significant enhancements both in mechanical and thermal *** adjusting the proportion of RGO and CNT in ZK61 alloy,the obtained optimum ZK61/(0.06 wt%RGO+0.54 wt%CNT)composite exhibited increase of 25.4%in yield strength,26.5%in ultimate tensile strength,104%in failure strain and 30.4%in thermal conductivity,respectively,in comparison with ZK61 *** superior properties of the nano-hybrid composite are attributed to the synergetic effects of RGO and CNT,leading to a uniform dispersion and integrated structure as well as the enhanced interfacial bonding with *** strengthening ability of RGO and CNT was calculated to quantify their individual contribution to the improvement in mechanical and thermal properties of the ZK61 matrix *** RGO+CNT hybrids provide a promising way to develop Mg matrix composites with impressive performances.

Predicting effects of tunnel throttling of annular freeway vehicular flow by a continuum model

Fluid flow throttling is common in industrial and building services engineering. Similar tunnel throttling of vehicular flow is caused by the abrupt number reduction of roadway lane, as the tunnel has a lower lane number than in the roadway normal segment. To predict the effects of tunnel throttling of annular freeway vehicular flow, a three-lane continuum model is developed. Lane Ⅲ of the tunnel is completely blocked due to the need of tunnel rehabilitation, etc. There exists mandatory net lane-changing rate from lane Ⅲ to lane Ⅱ just upstream of the tunnel entrance, which is described by a model of random number generated through a golden section analysis. The net-changing rate between adjacent lanes is modeled using a lane-changing time expressed explicitly in algebraic form. This paper assumes that the annular freeway has a total length of 100 km, a two-lane tunnel of length 2 km with a speed limit of 80 km/h. The free flow speeds on lanes Ⅰ, Ⅱ and Ⅲ are assumed to be 110, 100 and 90 km/h respectively. Based on the three-lane continuum model, numerical simulations of vehicular flows on the annular freeway with such a tunnel are conducted with a reliable numerical method of 3rd-order accuracy. Numerical results reveal that the vehicular flow has a smaller threshold of traffic jam formation in comparison with the case without tunnel throttling. Vehicle fuel consumption can be estimated by interpolation with time averaged grid traffic speed and an assumed curve of vehicle performance. The vehicle fuel consumption is lane number dependent, distributes with initial density concavely, ranging from 5.56 to 8.00 L. Tunnel throttling leads to an earlier traffic jam formation in comparison with the case without tunnel throttling.
