Enhancing solid-state lithium metal battery performance via indium-based modification of electrolytes and lithium metal surfaces: mechanistic insights and optimization

Argyrodite-based solid-state lithium metal batteries exhibit significant potential as next-generation energy storage ***,their practical applications are constrained by the intrinsic poor stability of argyrodite towards Li metal and exposure to air/***,an indium-involved modification strategy is employed to address these *** optimized doping yields a high Li-ion conductivity of 7.5 mS cm-1for Li5.54In0.02PS4.47O0.03Cl1.5electrolyte,accompanied by enhanced endurance against air/moisture and bare Li *** retains 92.0%of its original conductivity after exposure to air at a low dew point of-60°C in dry ***,a composite layer comprising Li–In alloy and LiF phases is generated on the surface of lithium metal anode via the reaction between In F3and molten *** layer effectively mitigates Li dendrite growth by creating a physical barrier from the robust LiF phase,while the Li–In alloy induces uniform Li-ion deposition and accelerates Li transport dynamics across the interphase between the solid electrolyte/Li ***,the In-doped electrolyte facilitates the in-situ generation of Li–In alloy within its voids,reducing local current density and further inhibiting lithium dendrite ***,the combination of the Li5.54In0.02PS4.47O0.03Cl1.5electrolyte and the InF3@Li anode provides exceptional electrochemical performances in both symmetric cells and solid-state lithium metal batteries across different operating ***,the LiNbO3@LiNi0.7Co0.2Mn0.1O2/Li5.54In0.02PS4.47O0.03Cl1.5/InF3@Li cell delivers a high discharge capacity of 167.8 mAh g-1at 0.5 C under 25°C and retains 80.0%of its initial value after 400 *** work offers a viable strategy for designing functional interfaces with enhanced stability for sulfide-based solid-state lithium batteries.

All-solid-state lithium batteries(ASSLBs)have attracted great interest due to their promising energy density and strong ***,the interface issues,including large interfacial resistance between electrode and electrolyte and low electrochemical stability of solid-state electrolytes against high-voltage cathodes,have restricted the development of high-voltage ***,we report an ASSLB with stable cycling by adopting a conformal polymer interlayer in-situ formed at the Li_(6.4)La_(3)Zr_(1.4)Ta_(0.6)O_(12)(LLZTO)–cathode *** polymer can perfectlyﬁll the voids and create a stable interface contact between LLZTO and *** addition,the electric field across the polymer interlayer is reduced compared with pure solid polymer electrolyte(SPE),which facilitates the electrochemical stability with high-voltage *** all-solid-state Li|LLZTO-SPE|LiFe_(0.4)Mn_(0.6)PO_(4)(LMFP)cells achieve a low interface impedance,high specific capacity,and excellent cycling *** work presents an effective and practical strategy to rationally design the electrode–electrolyte interface for the application of high-voltage ASSLBs.

Phase field modeling of ferroelastic variant switching in yttria-stabilized t'zirconia with strain gradient elasticity and interface tension

The pseudospectrum and spectrum(in)stability of quantum corrected Schwarzschild black hole

In this study,we investigate the pseudospectrum and spectrum(in)stability of quantum corrected Schwarzschild black ***,we use the hyperboloidal framework to cast the quasinormal mode(QNM)problem into an eigenvalue problem associated with a non-selfadjoint operator,and then the spectrum and pseudospectrum are ***,the invariant subspace method is exploited to improve the computational efficiency for *** investigation into the spectrum(in)stability entails two main *** the one hand,we calculate the spectra of the quantum corrected black hole,then by the means of the migration ratio,the impact of the quantum correction effect on the Schwarzschild black hole has been *** results indicate that the so-called“migration ratio instability”will occur for small black holes with small angular momentum number *** the eikonal limit,the migration ratios remain the same for each *** the other hand,we study the spectrum(in)stability of the quantum corrected black hole by directly adding some particular perturbations into the effective potential,where perturbations are located at the event horizon and null infinity,*** are two interesting observations under the same perturbation energy ***,perturbations at infinity are more capable of generating spectrum instability than those at the event ***,we find that the peak distribution can lead to the instability of QNM spectrum more efficiently than the average distribution.

Constitutive modelling of concrete material subjected to low-velocity projectile impact:insights into damage mechanism and target resistance

This paper presents a numerical study to improve the understanding of the complex subject of penetration and perforation of concrete targets impacted by low-velocity *** main focus is on the damage mechanisms and the major factors that account for the target resistance of the *** improved continuous surface cap model recently proposed was *** model was first equipped with element erosion criteria and was adequately validated by comparisons with ballistic *** numerical simulations were carried out where the individual influence of tensile,shear,and volumetric behaviors(pore collapse)of a concrete target on its ballistic performance was *** demonstrated that cratering on the front face and scabbing on the rear face of the concrete target were mainly dominated by its tensile *** major target resistance came from the second tunneling stage which was primarily governed by the shear and volumetric behaviors of the ***,this study captured the pore collapse-induced damage phenomenon during the high-pressure tunneling stage,which has been extensively reported in experiments but has usually been neglected in previous numerical investigations.

Zika virus (ZIKV), a mosquito-borne flavivirus, has been associated with benign infections for decades. However, it has become a public health concern due to its association with severe fetal and neurological complications. Although many efforts have been made to control ZIKV infection, approved vaccines or antiviral drugs are still lacking. Consequently, the development of new effective anti-ZIKV agents is urgently needed. In this context, we investigated the antiviral potential of pyrazolone derivatives against ZIKV replication using in silico and in vitro methods. The four pyrazolone derivatives evaluated (1a, 1b, 1c, and 1d) inhibited over 50% of ZIKV replication with low cytotoxicity. Among them, compound 1b exhibited the most potent activity (EC50 = 4.3 μM) and the highest selectivity (SI = 342). Mechanism of action studies indicated that these compounds act at early stages of virus replication, and compound 1b can also directly inactivate ZIKV particles. Molecular docking studies suggested that these compounds can bind to and block the activity of ZIKV NS5 methyltransferase. Finally, pharmacokinetic and toxicological predictions have reinforced the safety and drug-like profiles of these derivatives. In conclusion, the pyrazolone scaffold proved to be valuable for anti-ZIKV drug development, and the derivatives studied deserve further investigation.
