People started posting textual tweets on Twitter as soon as the novel coronavirus(COVID-19)*** these tweets can assist institutions in better decision-making and prioritizing their ***,this study aimed to analyze 43 million tweets collected between March 22 and March 30,2020 and describe the trend of public attention given to the topics related to the COVID-19 epidemic using evolutionary clustering *** results indicated that unigram terms were trended more frequently than bigram and trigram terms.A large number of tweets about the COVID-19 were disseminated and received widespread public attention during the *** high-frequency words such as“death”,“test”,“spread”,and“lockdown”suggest that people fear of being infected,and those who got infection are afraid of *** results also showed that people agreed to stay at home due to the fear of the spread,and they were calling for social distancing since they become aware of the *** can be suggested that social media posts may affect human psychology and *** results may help governments and health organizations to better understand the psychology of the public,and thereby,better communicate with them to prevent and manage the panic.

Compositional Prompting Video-language Models to Understand Procedure in instructional Videos

instructional videos are very useful for completing complex daily tasks,which naturally contain abundant clip-narration *** works for procedure understanding are keen on pretraining various video-language models with these pairs and then finetuning downstream classifiers and localizers in predetermined category *** video-language models are proficient at representing short-term actions,basic objects,and their combinations,but they are still far from understanding long-term *** addition,the predetermined procedure category faces the problem of combination disaster and is inherently inapt to unseen ***,we propose a novel compositional prompt learning(CPL)framework to understand long-term procedures by prompting short-term video-language models and reformulating several classical procedure understanding tasks into general video-text matching ***,the proposed CPL consists of one visual prompt and three compositional textual prompts(including the action prompt,object prompt,and procedure prompt),which could compositionally distill knowledge from short-term video-language models to facilitate long-term procedure ***,the task reformulation enables our CPL to perform well in all zero-shot,few-shot,and fully-supervised *** experiments on two widely-used datasets for procedure understanding demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

A Custom Haptic Syringe to Improve a VR Local Anesthesia Simulation for Foundational Dental Education: A Feasibility Study

Introduction: This paper presents the design, development, and usability evaluation of a custom haptic syringe aimed to improve the realism of a virtual reality local anesthesia simulation (VRLA), specifically for the inferior alveolar nerve block (IANB), that formally used a head mounted device (HMD) and vibration feedback via hand controllers. The custom haptic syringe interface provides a more realistic tactile sensation of plunging a real syringe in a human patient. This pilot study investigated the usability of the custom haptic syringe to replace one of the hand controllers to provide a more realistic and better training experience. Method: A one group pre-post survey investigated student perceptions regarding the effectiveness and usability of a haptic syringe to provide a more realistic experience to train dental students to learn the procedural steps to inject local anesthesia into a virtual patient. Twenty-two third year dental students participated. The pre-post survey examined changes in students’ perceived emotions, preparedness, and effectiveness of the VRLA as a foundational learning strategy prior to entering clinical group practice. Results: While quantitative results on comparable survey questions did not yield statistically significant differences, qualitative open-ended responses revealed a much greater satisfaction using the custom haptic syringe compared to the out of the box controllers. Conclusions: Feedback regarding the haptic syringe showed a substantial step closer to providing a more real experience for students in an effort to create a better bridge between classroom learning and clinical practice in order to prepare students to more confidently and competently work with real clients. Further refinement of the syringe is forthcoming along with a more formal comparative experimental study.

Alterations to the gut microbiome and exposure to metals during pregnancy have been suggested to impact inflammatory bowel ***,how prenatal exposure to metals eventually results in long-term effects on the gut microbiome,leading to subclinical intestinal inflammation,particularly during late childhood,has not been *** is also unknown whether such an interactive effect drives a specific subgroup of children toward elevated susceptibility to intestinal *** used an amalgamation of machine-learning techniques with a regression-based framework to explore if children with distinct sets of gut microbes and certain patterns of exposure to metals during pregnancy(metal−microbial clique signature)had a higher likelihood of intestinal inflammation,measured based on fecal calprotectin(FC)in late *** obtained samples from a well-characterized longitudinal birth cohort from Mexico City(n=108),*** the second and third trimesters of pregnancy,11 metals were measured in whole *** microbial abundances and FC were measured in stool samples from children 9−11 years of *** FC was defined as having FC above 100μg/g of *** identified subgroups of children in whom microbial and metal−microbial clique signatures were associated with elevated FC(false discovery rate(FDR)<0.05).In particular,we found two metal−microbial clique signatures significantly associated with elevated FC:(1)low cesium(Cs)and copper(Cu)in the third trimester and low relative abundance of Eubacterium ventriosum(OR[95%CI]:10.27[3.57,29.52],FDR<0.001)and(2)low Cu in the third trimester and high relative abundances of Roseburia inulinivorans and Ruminococcus torques(OR[95%CI]:7.21[1.81,28.77],FDR<0.05).This exploratory study demonstrates that children with specific gut microbes and specific exposure patterns to metals during pregnancy may have higher fecal calprotectin levels in late childhood,denoting an elevated risk of intestinal inflammation.

Innovation of Knowledge-based Hyper-multimedia to Promote a Culture of Using ICT Creatively for Adolescents

The purpose of the present research was to develop an innovative knowledge-based hyper-multimedia to promote a culture of using information and communication technology （ICT） creatively for adolescents. Their learning processes and attitudes toward such innovation in their community were also examined. Thirty juveniles, 13-18 years of age in each Hangdong and Maerim districts, Chiang Mai province were employed in the study. Data collections were made through questionnaires, interview, test, group discussion and brainstorming. Analysis and evaluation were carried out with the applications of sufficient economy philosophy, constructivism theory and Torrance＇s future problem-solving instructional model. Results showed that the learning innovation of hyper-multimedia presented by the use of animation, video, scene and sound with related action script synchronization was considerably effective. With the application of sufficient economy philosophy, the result indicated that performance efficiency （El/E2） was 92.228/9.83 and the adolescents learning processes and attitudes were very good. These included purchasing of moderate ICT equipments, information screening for self-immunity and creative using of internet and ICT morally and ethically according to the computer laws. This independent learning system was properly designed for the juveniles with the right to retrieve the data or stop using at anytime. By using Torrance＇s approach and constructivism theory emphasizing on brainstorming techniques, it was noted that learning process was very well adopted by the adolescents with high satisfaction. They had good attitudes toward the extension of sufficient ICT cultural using in their community with emphasis on brotherly relationship. Related organizations should educate their parents to instruct the juveniles to use the internet properly and encourage people to be aware of ICT business in order to protect social and cultural problems encountered in the future.
