Lignocellulosic biomass is one of the viable solutions to alleviate the global warming. However, the limited utilization of biomass majorly focused on cellulose and hemicellulose restricts the economic and environmental feasibilities. To cope with this issue, we proposed an integrated process of co-producing 1,6-hexanediol（1,6-HDO） with tetrahydrofuran and adipic acid from biomass, referred to as strategy A. To compare the impacts of lignin upgrading and feedstock, strategy B, which co-produces tetrahydrofuran alone, and strategy C, which is the traditional route to produce 1,6-HDO from fossil fuels, were used. Heat networks are also designed to reduce operating costs and indirect carbon emissions due to energy consumption, saving 87% and 83% of the heat and cooling requirements, respectively, in strategy A. The market competitiveness of strategy A was evaluated by determining the minimum selling price through techno-economic analysis, and sustainability was thoroughly investigated by quantifying the environmental impacts through both midpoint and endpoint life-cycle assessments（LCAs）.strategy A was found to be the most favorable both economically（USRDSCHARDOLLAR3,402/ton） and environmentally（-26.9 kg CO2eq.）. This indicates that lignin valorization is not only economically but also environmentally preferred. Finally, changes in economic and environmental feasibilities depending on economic, process, and environmental parameters were investigated using sensitivity and uncertainty analyses. The results of these analyses provide valuable insight into bio-based chemical production.

The local structure and thermophysical behavior of Mg-La liquid alloys were in-depth understood using deep potential molecular dynamic(DPMD) simulation driven via machine learning to promote the development of Mg-La alloys. The robustness of the trained deep potential(DP) model was thoroughly evaluated through several aspects, including root-mean-square errors(RMSEs), energy and force data, and structural information comparison results;the results indicate the carefully trained DP model is reliable. The component and temperature dependence of the local structure in the Mg-La liquid alloy was analyzed. The effect of Mg content in the system on the first coordination shell of the atomic pairs is the same as that of temperature. The pre-peak demonstrated in the structure factor indicates the presence of a medium-range ordered structure in the Mg-La liquid alloy, which is particularly pronounced in the 80at% Mg system and disappears at elevated temperatures. The density, self-diffusion coefficient, and shear viscosity for the Mg-La liquid alloy were predicted via DPMD simulation, the evolution patterns with Mg content and temperature were subsequently discussed, and a database was established accordingly. Finally, the mixing enthalpy and elemental activity of the Mg-La liquid alloy at 1200 K were reliably evaluated,which provides new guidance for related studies.

The community structure of zooplankton has been conducted in the Lembeh Strait in Bitung and Wori Beach in Manado, North Sulawesi in October 2015. Sampling of this research was conducted in 22 sampling sites along the strait. Zooplankton samples were collected from 22 stations, by NORPAC 300 μm net that was vertically hauled from maximum 10 m depth up to the surface water. The samples were poured into the bottle with formalin of 4%as preservative. The results showed that there were 43 taxa of zooplankton. The abundance of zooplankton was between 21.216–4 193.776 ind./m;. The dominant taxa were copepod, especially Calanoida. The composition of zooplankton was relatively similar in all stations. We showed the abundance, dominance, composition and distribution of zooplankton at this research. More extensive studies concerning zooplankton is required to understand zooplankton biodiversity as a whole especially on the geographical and spatial distribution to describe population and community dynamic in the Lembeh Strait and Wori Beach.

The relationship between hydrocarbon generation and the evolution of shale pore structure and its heterogeneity of continental shale from the Ordos Basin,China was quantitatively studied based on thermal simulation experiment,mercury injection capillary pressure(MICP),gas adsorption,vitrinite reflectance(R_(o))analysis,and hydrocarbon generation test combined with Frenkel-Halsey-Hill(FHH)fractal *** result shows that the pore volume(PV)and specific surface area(SSA)of pores with different pore sizes show a trend of decreasing first and then increasing as the maturity increases in general,R_(o)>1.59%is initially defined as a favorable stage for pore development in continental *** generation has different effects on pore heterogeneity of different *** the N_(2)adsorption,the roughness of small pore surface(D_(1))decreases in the oil window;the complexity of large pore structure(D_(2))increases in the oil window but decreases in the gas *** the MICP,the heterogeneity of small pore(D_(1))increases in the oil window and increases first and then decreases in the gas window;D_(2)remains basically constant during the whole stage and is close to 3,indicating that the heterogeneity of large pores is extremely strong and is not affected by hydrocarbon generation.

Full-Sized Pore Structure and Fractal Characteristics of Marine-Continental Transitional Shale: A Case Study in Qinshui Basin, North China

Based on 10 shale samples collected from 4 wells in Qinshui Basin,we investigate the full-sized pore structure and fractal characteristics of Marine-Continental transitional shale by performing organic geochemistry,mineralogical composition,Nitrogen gas adsorption(N2 adsorption)and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance(NMR)measurements and fractal *** show that the TOC content of the shale samples is relatively high,with an average value of 2.44wt%,and the thermal evolution is during the mature-over mature *** NMR T2 spectrum can be used to characterize the fullsized pore structure characteristics of *** combining N2 adsorption pore structure parameters and NMR T2 spectrums,the surface relaxivity of samples are calculated to be between 1.7877 um/s and 5.2272 um/*** this basis,the T2 spectrums are converted to full-sized pore volume and surface area distribution *** statistics show that the pore volume is mainly provided by mesopore,followed by micropore,and the average percentages are 65.04%and 30.83%respectively;the surface area is mainly provided by micropore,followed by mesopore,and the average percentages are 60.8004%and 39.137%respectively;macropore contributes little to pore volume and surface *** pore structure characteristics of shale have no relationship with TOC,but strong relationships with clay minerals *** fractal dimensions Dmicro and Dmeso have strong positive relationships with the N2 adsorption fractal dimensions D1 and D2 respectively,indicating that Dmicro can be used to characterize the fractal characteristics of pore surface,and Dmeso can be used to characterize the fractal characteristics of pore *** shale surface relaxivity is controlled by multiple *** increasing of clay mineral content,pore surface area,pore surface fractal dimension and the decreasing of average pore size,will all lead to the decreasing of shale surface relaxivity.

Exhumation history of the Jiaodong and its adjacent areas since the Late Cretaceous:Constraints from low temperature thermochronology

The thermal history of the Jiaodong region and adjacent provinces （Shandong and northem Jiangsu） have been extensively studied, particularly by apatite fission track （AFT） dating. However, the AFT ages from surface outcrops range broadly and do not show an apparent relationship between age and elevation. This work provides a multiple low temperature thermochronological dataset including zircon and apatite （U-Th）/He ages （ZHe and AHe）, and AFT ages from a 1000-m-deep borehole at the Jiaojia goldfield in the northwest of Jiaodong Peninsula. ZHe, AFT and AHe ages range from -100-70, -85-50 and -65-50 Ma, respectively. These data conform to the principles of age vs. closure temperature and age vs. elevation and thus can be employed to estimate the exhumation history. Based on the density histogram of fission track length calculation, thermal history modeling, and previously published AFT ages from the Chinese Continental Science Drill program, this work concludes that compared to the AFT ages from surface outcrops, the low temperature thermochronological ages from the boreholes show a better relationship between age, elevation and closure temperature, and the age becomes younger with increasing depth. In addition, the exhumation history in the Jiaodong and adjacent areas can be divided into two distinct stages： a short, rapid tectonic exhumation （-100-95 Ma） and a long, slow exhumation since 95 Ma. The rate and amount of tectonic exhumation since 95 Ma are inferred as -30 m Ma-1 and -3 km, respectively.

Effective Seed Distribution Pattern of an Upward Shift Species in Alpine Tundra of Changbai Mountains

The vegetation of alpine tundra in the Changbai Mountains has experienced great changes in recent decades. Narrowleaf small reed(Deyeuxia angustifolia), a perennial herb from the birch forest zone had crossed the tree line and invaded into the alpine tundra zone. To reveal the driven mechanism of D. angustifolia invasion, there is an urgent need to figure out the effective seed distribution pattern, which could tell us where the potential risk regions are and help us to interpret the invasion process. In this study, we focus on the locations of the seeds in the soil layer and mean to characterize the effective seed distribution pattern of D. angustifolia. The relationship between the environmental variables and the effective seed distribution pattern was also assessed by redundancy analysis. Results showed that seeds of D. angustifolia spread in the alpine tundra with a considerable number(mean value of 322 per m2). They were mainly distributed in the low elevation areas with no significant differences in different slope positions. Effective seed number(ESN) occurrences of D. angustifolia were different in various plant communities. Plant communities with lower canopy cover tended to have more seeds of D. angustifolia. Our research indicated reliable quantitative information on the extent to which habitats are susceptible to invasion.
