Malan loess is highly water-sensitive， with its shear strength， particularly cohesive strength， significantly decreasing under the influence of water. The Western Shanxi Loess Plateau （WSLP） is especially prone to loess landslides， which are closely linked to rainfall infiltration. Understanding the regional variation of Malan loess cohesion (cm) and its distribution in relation to the developmental intensity of landslides in this area can provide essential scientific evidence for effective landslide prevention. Loess landslides and Malan loess were selected as the objects of study for the current research. The regional variation and distribution pattern of the cmwere revealed through undisturbed loess direct shear tests and Inverse Distance Weighting （IDW） interpolation. The relationship between the developmental intensity of landslide and the regional variation of the cmwas explored using the Cumulative Sum Variable Dimension Fractal （CSVDF）， Frequency Ratio （FR） model， and Certainty Factor （CF） model. The following conclusions were drawn: Results from the direct shear tests and IDW method indicate that the cmtends to decrease from south to north and exhibits a positively skewed spatial distribution pattern. The CSVDF results indicates a similarity between the regional variation of the cmand the development intensity of loess landslides. The FR and CF results reveal that loess landslides are more likely to occur when the cmis between 0 and 16.14 kPa.

Black soil is essential for maintaining regional food security and promoting global agricultural *** the weathering process of parent material and the accumulation of organic carbon is crucial to comprehending the developmental history and future trends of black soil,especially against the background of large-scale global cultivation and climate *** the importance of black soil formation and evolution cannot be ignored,the relevant research is still very *** this study,a typical eight-meter-deep soil core was collected from the Keshan area of the Songnen Plain,Northeast China,where surface black soil developed on ***^(14)C dating,the formation age of the black soil was *** on the characteristics of the geochemical composition,grain size and the magnetic susceptibility of the sediments,it was demonstrated that the black soil and its parent material originated from reworked ***,the mass transfer coefficient(τ)of some elements was determined,in order to explore the soil weathering *** calculating the transported amount of alkaline and alkaline-earth elements,the weathering rate of parent material to black soil was found to be weak,at 0.16 kEq·ha^(-1)·year^(-1).Combining the results of dating and carbon density in the different layers of black soil,the accumulation rate of organic carbon was determined as follows:rapidly increasing in the initial period of 13.2-2.2 ka,reaching its maximum average value of 34.0 g·cm^(-2)·a^(-1)at 2.2-0.8 ka,then showing a decreasing trend with an average value of-77.5 g·cm^(-2)·a^(-1).Compared with regional climate change,Keshan black soil has developed under a colder and wetter climate during the ***,ongoing global warming may lead to the degradation of black soils in the Songnen Plain,as well as in other *** results will enrich geological knowledge of black soil formation and future evolutionary trends.

Dinosaur discoveries from India have been known since 1844, while dinosaur discoveries from Pakistan have appeared recently since 2000. 3 large and 2 small theropod dinosaurs are known from Pakistan, while 11 large and 4 small theropods are known from India. Pakistani land uncovered many footprints and trackways of Jurassic small and large theropods, Jurassic ankylosaur and Cretaceous hadrosaur ornithischian dinosaurs, while Indian land uncovered a footprint of small and a footprint of large theropod and 1 footprint of stegosaur. Pakistan uncovered a Jurassic bone taxon of ankylosaur ornithischian based on heavily armored synapomorphies. Recently, Pakistan yielded 1 bone taxon and 1 ichno taxon of pterosaurs, while Indian land yielded 1 bone taxon of pterosaur. Pakistani land uncovered 14 bone taxa (and 2 ichno taxa) of herbivorous sauropod dinosaurs, 5 bone taxa (and 2 ichnotaxa) of carnivorous theropod dinosaurs, 1 bone taxon of ankylosaur and 2 (ichnotaxa) of ornithischian (ankylosaur and hadrosaurs) dinosaurs, 1 bone taxon (and 1 ichno taxon) of pterosaurs, 1 plesiosaur, 7 crocodiles, 1 snake, 1 bird, 11 mammals, 3 fishes, 7 invertebrates and 1 plant. This study fills a significant gap in the literature by bringing together paleontological records from an understudied geographical location, enhancing the global understanding of dinosaur paleobiogeography. Pakistan hosts Precambrian to recent sediments igneous and metamorphic rocks. Pakistan is rich in mineral resources/rocks, but it needs more attention for its development to fulfill local requirements and earn foreign exchange.

Coal pore parameters are closely related to macrolithotypes and coal structures,having a large influence over the gas potential and productivity of coalbed methane(CBM).The Middle Jurassic Xishanyao Formation,located in the southern Junggar Basin of northwestern China,has geological conditions with rich CBM *** 46 Xishanyao coal samples gathered from the drilling cores and coal mines cover 4 types of macrolithotypes(bright coal 1,semi-bright coal 2,semi-dull coal 3,and dull coal 4)and 2 types of coal structures(primary coal I and cataclastic coal II).Based on a range of pore testing experiments and analytical methods,the dual effects of different macrolithotypes and coal structures on pore structures were intensely *** results showed that the specific surface area(SSA)and total pore volume(TPV)of coal samples increased gradually from bright to dull *** the same macrolithotypes,the SSA and TPV of the primary coals were lower than those of the cataclastic ***,the pore structures of bright and semi-bright coals are simpler when compared to semi-dull and dull coals with the same coal structure,whereas cataclastic coals have more complicated pore structure systems than primary coals with the same *** bright and semi-bright coals have higher vitrinite contents and more endogenous fractures,whereas well-developed structural fractures were identified in cataclastic ***,bright and semi-bright coals have better pore connectivity than semi-dull and dull coals with the same coal structure,the pore connectivity of cataclastic coals being slightly better than that of primary coals under the same *** terms of the CBM adsorption conditions,the eight type samples formed a descending order:Ⅱ-4>I-4>Ⅱ-3>Ⅰ-3>Ⅱ-2>Ⅰ-2>Ⅱ-1>Ⅰ-1,while they ranked as follows when consideration was given to the CBM seepage capacities:II-2>Ⅱ-1>Ⅰ-2>Ⅰ-1>Ⅰ-3>Ⅰ-4>Ⅱ-3>Ⅱ-*** a result,it could be determined that the bright and semi-bright
