This study developed a numerical model to efficiently treat solid waste magnesium nitrate hydrate through multi-step chemical *** model simulates two-phase flow,heat,and mass transfer processes in a pyrolysis furnace to improve the decomposition rate of magnesium *** performance of multi-nozzle and single-nozzle injection methods was evaluated,and the effects of primary and secondary nozzle flow ratios,velocity ratios,and secondary nozzle inclination angles on the decomposition rate were *** indicate that multi-nozzle injection has a higher conversion efficiency and decomposition rate than single-nozzle injection,with a 10.3%higher conversion rate under the design *** decomposition rate is primarily dependent on the average residence time of particles,which can be increased by decreasing flow rate and velocity ratios and increasing the inclination angle of secondary *** optimal parameters are injection flow ratio of 40%,injection velocity ratio of 0.6,and secondary nozzle inclination of 30°,corresponding to a maximum decomposition rate of 99.33%.

The prevalence of hyperlipidemia has increased significantly due to genetic, dietary, nutritional and pharmacological factors, and has become one of the most common pathological conditions in humans. Hyperlipidemia can lead to a range of diseases such as atherosclerosis, stroke, coronary heart disease, myocardial infarction, diabetes, and kidney failure, etc. High circulating low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) is one of the causes of hyperlipidemia. LDL-C in the blood binds to LDL receptor (LDLR) and regulates cholesterol homeostasis through endocytosis. In contrast, proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9) mediates LDLR degradation via the intracellular and extracellular pathways, leading to hyperlipidemia. Targeting PCSK9-synthesizing transcription factors and downstream molecules are important for development of new lipid-lowering drugs. Clinical trials regarding PCSK9 inhibitors have demonstrated a reduction in atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease events. The purpose of this review was to explore the target and mechanism of intracellular and extracellular pathways in degradation of LDLR and related drugs by PCSK9 in order to open up a new pathway for the development of new lipid-lowering drugs.

Scraping therapy for knee osteoarthritis: a systematic review and Meta-analysis

OBJECTIVE: To systematically evaluate the efficacy of scraping therapy on knee osteoarthritis(KOA). METHODS: A computerized search was conducted in several databases, including PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, China National Knowledge Infrastructure Database, China Science and Technology Journal Database,Wanfang, and chinese BioMedical Literature Database,from the establishment date of these databases to April 9,2023. Randomized controlled trials(RCTs) on scraping therapy for KOA were collected in accordance with the “Participants-Intervention-Control-Outcome-Study design”criteria. The methodological evaluation of the included studies was carried out using RoB 2.0, and Meta-analysis was conducted using RevMan. The Grades of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation(GRADE System) was applied to grade the quality of evidence. RESULTS: A total of 12 RCTs with 997 subjects were included in the Meta-analysis. Results indicated that compared with the control group, the scraping therapy treatment group exhibited increased Lysholm scores [mean difference(MD) = 4.96, 95% confidence intervals(CI)(3.18, 6.74), P < 0.000 01] and Hospital for Special Surgery scores [MD = 8.35, 95% CI(3.92, 12.78), P = 0.0002] and decreased visual analog scale scores [MD =-2.11, 95% CI(-3.79,-0.44), P = 0.01] and Western Ontario and McM aster University Osteoarthritis Index scores [MD =-6.77, 95% CI(-8.99,-4.56), P < 0.000 01)]. The quality of evidence obtained in this Meta-analysis was low according to the GRADE system. CONCLUSION: The available evidence suggests that scraping therapy may have certain clinical efficacy in the treatment of KOA. However, further high-quality RCTs are needed to confirm the findings.

The aromatic compounds,including o-xylene,m-xylene,p-xylene,and ethylbenzene,primarily originate from the catalytic reforming of crude oil,and have a wide variety of ap***,because of similar physical and chemical properties,these compounds are difficult to be identified by gas chromatography(GC)without standard *** the development of modern nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)techniques,NMR has emerged as a powerful and efficient tool for the rapid analysis of complex and crude mixtures without *** this study,the parameters of one-dimensional(1D)total correlation spectroscopy(TOCSY)NMR techniques,including 1D selective gradient TOCSY and 1D chemicalshift-selective filtration(CSSF)with TOCSY,were optimized to obtain comprehensive molecular structure *** results indicate that the overlapped signals in NMR spectra of nonpolar aromatic compounds(including o-xylene,m-xylene,p-xylene and ethylbenzene),polar aromatic compounds(benzyl alcohol,benzaldehyde,benzoic acid),and aromatic compounds with additional conjugated bonds(styrene)can be resolved in 1D *** importantly,full molecular structures can be clearly distinguished by setting appropriate mixing time in 1D *** approach simplifies the NMR spectra,provides structural information of entire molecules,and can be applied for the analysis of other structural isomers.

Objective:To summarize the characteristics and evaluate the quality of the methodology and evidence within systematic reviews(SRs)of chinese herbal medicine(CHM)for Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia(MPP)***:SRs of randomized controlled trials were searched using PubMed,the Cochrane Library,Embase,the chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure Databases(CNKI),the chinese Scientific Journals Database(VIP),Wanfang,and the SinoMed *** on the use of CHM alone or in combination with Western medications for MPP in children were *** study compared the effects of Western medicine alone with those of *** evidence quality using the A Measurement Tool to Assess Systematic Reviews(AMSTAR)2,the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses(PRISMA)2020,and the Grading of Recommendations,Assessment,Development,and Evaluation(GRADE)*** primary indicators were the total effective rate,fever subsidence time,and cough disappearance *** secondary outcomes were pulmonary rale disappearance time,average hospitalization time,lung X-ray infiltrate disappearance time,immunological indices,and inflammatory cytokine ***:Twelve relevant SRs were included;75%(9/12)were assessed as very low quality,and 25%(3/12)Were rated as low quality using the AMSTAR 2 *** to the PRISMA 2020 checklist,the average SR score was 20.3 out of a 27 point *** all SRs,CHM demonstrated improvement in symptoms and signs among children with *** evidence quality using the GRADE criteria ranged from"very low"(>50%)to"moderate"(<5%).The most common downgrading factor was imprecision,followed by publication bias and ***:This overview highlights the limited quality of the methodology and evidence of the included *** the included studies showed the beneficial effects of CHM on MPP in children,it was difficult to draw firm conclusions owing to methodological flaws.

Flame Synthesis of Zr/ZSM-5 Catalysts with Tunable Acidity for the Oxidative Dehydrogenation of Propane to Propene

Tuning the surface acidity of ZSM-5 catalyst is essential to achieve desired propene selectivity and *** several ratios of Zr were utilized to modify ZSM-5 via flame spray pyrolysis technique coupled with a pulse spray evaporation *** interaction between Zr and ZSM-5 in the flame influenced the physicochemical and acidity properties of the Zr/*** increasing Zr ratio in ZSM-5 shows coated layers of irregular nano-sized Zr with an increase in crystallite sizes due to the synergetic effect between Zr and *** surface chemical analysis revealed increased lattice oxygen on the Zr modified ZSM-5(1:4) sample compared to other *** acidity analysis revealed the Lewis and Br?nsted acid distribution in the weak and medium acid sites on the catalyst ***,the increase in Zr loading decreased the concentration of Br?nsted acid sites and tuned the catalyst surface to more Lewis acidity,promoting propene selectivity and hindering the over-oxidation of *** modified ZSM-5 catalysts were examined in a fixed bed reactor within 300℃-700℃ at a gas hourly space velocity(GHSV) of 6000 mL·g(catalysts)^(-1)·h^(-1) for the oxidative dehydrogenation of propane(ODHP) to *** the catalysts,Zr/ZSM-5(1:4) exhibited the best propene yield, with 57.19% propane conversion and 75.54% selectivity to propene and the highest *** work provides a promising strategy for tuning the surface acidity of ZSM-5 with Zr for ODHP applications.

Liver fibrosis is characterized by chronic inflammatory responses and progressive fibrous scar *** play a central role in the pathogenesis of hepatic fibrosis by reconstructing the immune *** II(PIC II),extracted from Picrorhizae Rhizoma,has demonstrated therapeutic potential for various liver ***,the mechanisms by which macrophage polarization initiates immune cascades and contributes to the development of liver fibrosis,and whether this process can be influenced by PIC II,remain *** the current study,RNA sequencing and multiple molecular approaches were utilized to explore the underlying mechanisms of PIC II against liver fibrosis in multidrug-resistance protein 2 knockout(Mdr2^(−/−))*** findings indicate that PIC II activates M1-polarized macrophages to recruit natural killer cells(NK cells),potentially via the CXCL16-CXCR6 ***,PIC II promotes the apoptosis of activated hepatic stellate cells(aHSCs)and enhances the cytotoxic effects of NK cells,while also reducing the formation of neutrophil extracellular traps(NETs).Notably,the anti-hepatic fibrosis effects associated with PIC II were largely reversed by macrophage depletion in Mdr2^(−/−)***,our research suggests that PIC II is a potential candidate for halting the progression of liver fibrosis.

Objective: The effects of arsenic trioxide(As2O3) on hepatocellular carcinoma have been documented widely. Autophagy plays dual roles in the survival and death of cancer cells. Therefore, we investigated the exact role of autophagy in As2O3-induced apoptosis in liver cancer ***: The viability of hepatoma cells was determined using the MTT assay with or without fetal bovine serum. The rate of apoptosis in liver cancer cells treated with As2O3was evaluated using flow cytometry, Hoechst 33258 staining, and TUNEL assays. The rate of autophagy among liver cancer cells treated with As2O3was detected using immunofluorescence, Western blot assay and transmission electron ***: Upon treatment with As2O3, the viability of HepG2 and SMMC-7721 cells was decreased in a time-and dose-dependent manner. The apoptosis rates of both liver cancer cell lines increased with the concentration of As2O3, as shown by flow cytometry. Apoptosis in liver cancer cells treated with As2O3was also shown by the activation of the caspase cascade and the regulation of Bcl-2/Bax ***, As2O3treatment induced autophagy in liver cancer cells;this finding was supported by Western blot, immunofluorescence of LC3-II and beclin 1, and transmission electron microscopy. In liver cancer cells, As2O3inhibited the phosphoinositide 3-kinase/protein kinase B/mammalian target of rapamycin(PI3K/AKT/mTOR) signal pathway that plays a vital role in both apoptosis and autophagy. The PI3K activator SC-79 partially reversed As2O3-induced autophagy and apoptosis. Furthermore, inhibiting autophagy with 3-methyladenine partially reversed the negative effects of As2O3on cell *** starvation increased autophagy and amplified the effect of As2O3on cell ***: As2O3induces apoptosis and autophagy in liver cancer cells.
