Aging is an inevitable biological phenomenon that involves a multitude of physiological alterations. Dietary interventions are being considered as potential strategies for delaying age-related dysfunction. Unsaponifiable matter (USM)， a composition of highly active ingredients found in walnut oil， has demonstrated antioxidant effects. This study aims to explore the neuroprotective effects of USM on D-galactose-treated C57BL/6 mice and elucidate its underlying mechanism， which was validated in PC12 cells treated with D-galactose. The results of behavioral tests demonstrated that USM significantly improved cognitive deficits associated with aging. The morphological analysis demonstrated that USM effectively alleviated hippocampal neuronal damage， synaptic impairment， and mitochondrial dysfunction induced by D-galactose. Furthermore， USM significantly increases the antioxidant enzymes activity while reducing the malondialdehyde (MDA) andreactive oxygen species (ROS) levels. The results suggest that USM can mitigate age-related symptoms caused by D-galactose by activating the Nrf2 signaling pathway， which enhances the expression of antioxidant enzymes， restore redox balance， and improves synaptic and mitochondrial functions. This has a positive on improving cognition and memory disorders in elderly mice.

Interplay between geometric and electronic structures of Pt entities over TiO_(2) for CO oxidation

Monodispersed Pt colloids with a mean size of 2 nm were deposited uniformly on the {110} facets of a rod-shaped rutile TiO_(2),forming a well-defined Pt/TiO_(2) *** treatment of this precursor at elevated temperatures re-dispersed the Pt particles into clusters and ***-calcination at 673 K partially oxidized the Pt particle surface,while calcination at 773 K yielded Pt Oxclusters of 1.6 nm in 7–8 atomic *** calcination at 873 K formed a mixture of raft-like PtO_(x) clusters(1.6 nm,1–2 atomic layers) and cationic *** tested for CO oxidation at 373 K,the Pt particles showed a higher activity than the Pt Oxclusters,whereas the cationic single-atoms were much less *** H_(2)-reduction at 473 K converted the partially oxidized Pt particles into the metallic species,but they were encapsulated by TiO_(2)–xoverlayers because of the strong metal–support interactions,which decreased the activity dramatically.H_(2)-reduction of the PtO_(x) clusters at473 K enhanced the fraction of metallic Pt species without changing the size and geometry,and promoted the activity substantially.H_(2)-treatment of Pt single-atoms at 473 K increased the activity only moderately because most Pt species still kept at cationic *** results straightforwardly differentiated the catalytic behavior of Pt particles,clusters and single-atoms at the same metal loading and over the same TiO_(2) support,and further demonstrated that the electronic structures of Pt entities played a decisive role in the catalytic oxidation,in addition to the specified sizes.

In recent years,there has been a growing focus on high-reliability products in industrial and military *** plays a crucial role in these products,and as a result,research on storage reliability has gained more *** paper specifically targets a class of products with complex structures that require long-term storage,regular testing,and ***,an expression method for system availability is provided based on the reliability structure of the system and the maintenance situation of the constituent equipment in *** the expression of system availability is typically complex and difficult to compute,and the storage life of the system cannot be represented as an explicit function of the reliability indicators of the constituent equipment,it is challenging to evaluate the availability and storage life of repairable *** address this,the paper proposes a comprehensive evaluation methodology for assessing the storage reliability of complex repairable systems based on fiducial *** approach is employed to derive point estimates and determine the lower fiducial limits for both system availability and storage ***,simulation results demonstrate that this comprehensive evaluation method for storage reliability of complex repairable systems is not only convenient but also highly effective.

The property theory of traditional chinese medicine(TCM) has been practiced for thousands of years,playing a pivotal role in the clinical application of TCM. While advancements in energy metabolism,chemical composition analysis, machine learning, ion current modeling, and supercritical fluid technology have provided valuable insight into how aspects of TCM property theory may be measured, these studies only capture specific aspects of TCM property theory in isolation, overlooking the holistic perspective inherent in TCM. To systematically investigate the modern interpretation of the TCM property theory from multidimensional perspectives, we consulted the chinese Pharmacopoeia(2020 edition) to compile a list of chinese materia medica(CMM). Then, using the Latin names of each CMM and gut microbiota as keywords, we searched the PubMed database for relevant research on gut microbiota and CMM. The regulatory patterns of different herbs on gut microbiota were then summarized from the perspectives of the four natures, the five flavors and the meridian tropism. In terms of the four natures, we found that warm-natured medicines promoted the colonization of specific beneficial bacteria,while cold-natured medicines boosted populations of some beneficial bacteria while suppressing pathogenic bacteria. Analysis of the five flavors revealed that sweet-flavored and bitter-flavored CMMs positively influenced beneficial bacteria while inhibiting harmful bacteria. CMMs with different meridian tropism exhibited complex modulative patterns on gut microbiota, with Jueyin(Liver) and Taiyin(Lung) meridian CMMs generally exerting a stronger effect. The gut microbiota may be a biological indicator for characterizing the TCM property theory, which not only enhances our understanding of classic TCM theory but also contributes to its scientific advancement and application in healthcare.

The loop heat pipe(LHP)is an advanced,efficient two-phase heat transfer unit,whose operational performance may be affected by microgravity conditions in contrast to ground-based *** performance of on-orbit temperature data and ground test of a copper-propylene LHP with a condenser temperature range of 243.15 K to 303.15 K were employed to compared and *** LHP has successfully started up for more than 193 times with a good heat transfer performance and a stable start-up stabilization on-orbit under a complex orbital heating environment for more than eight *** a small heat load(10.0W),the average start-up time is 110.0 s while the start-up temperature ranges from 5.71 K-12.78 *** start-up time at large temperature differences in the high temperature zone will be higher than the time required for start-up at smaller temperature differences in the low *** the condenser temperature is 250.0 K,the stable temperature difference on orbit is 3.83 K,which is generally consistent in heat transfer compared to 2.20 K in the ground *** this paper,we can conclude that the on-orbit flight data up to now can provide a reference to the design of subsequent LHP space applications.

OBJECTIVE: To systematically assess the effects of individualized chinese medicines on recurrent urinary tract infections(rUTIs).METHODS: This study recruited 230 adult female patients in the remission phase of rUTIs from five hospitals in China. The patients were randomly allocated to two groups: an individualized chinese medicine group(n = 114) and a control group(n = 116). Patients in the chinese medicine group received individualized chinese herbs, which were evaluated for syndrome *** in the control group received antibiotic treatment combined with a chinese medicine placebo. The duration of treatment was three courses of four weeks each, with a three-month subsequent follow-up. UTI recurrence rate,Traditional chinese Medicine(TCM) syndrome scores,36-item Short Form Survey(SF-36) score, and urine secretory immunoglobulin A(SIgA) were measured and analyzed before and after treatment in each group. RESULTS: Patients from the chinese medicine group exhibited significant decreases in both short-and longterm UTI recurrence rates compared with the control group(P chinese medicine and control groups were significant(P chinese medicine group were also significantly higher than those in the control group after treatment(P chinese medicine group also demonstrated a significant increase in urine SIg A expression. CONCLUSION: Taken together, compared to the oftenused long-term antimicrobial prophylaxis during the remission stage of r UTIs, treating patients with an individualized chinese medicine decoction by syndrome differentiation could effectively reduce the recurrence rate, improve the patients' TCM syndrome scores and quality of life, and enhance immunity, which in turn helps to prevent antibiotic resistance.

In this study,a Mn-modified Pt-based catalyst loaded on nitrogen-doped Ketjen black(Mn-Pt/NKB)is prepared using a simple ethylene glycol reduction *** size of Pt nanoparticles(NPs)is effectively controlled by doping with Mn and *** the smallest average particle size of 1.7 nm,Mn-Pt/NKB demonstrates half-wave potentials of 0.890 and 0.688 V in the alkaline and neutral electrolytes,respectively,which are superior to those of commercial platinum on activated carbon(Pt/C).When applied as an air cathode in aluminum-air battery,it exhibits ultra-high power densities of 190(alkaline)and 26.2 mW·cm^(−2)(neutral).Moreover,the voltage remains stable after 5 h of *** practical application performance of the Mn-Pt/NKB catalyst in an aluminum-air battery is better than that of commercial Pt/***,the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)mechanism on surfaces with different particle sizes is analyzed using density functional *** cracking is the major pathway on the surface of the small particles with lower energy consumption of 0.5 eV,while water molecule cleavage is the major pathway on the surface of the large particles with higher energy consumption of 0.97 *** lower energy consumption of the oxygen cracking pathway further confirms the ORR mechanism for higher activity on small-sized *** study provides a direction for the rational design of Pt-based catalysts for ORR and sheds light on the commercial development of aluminum-air batteries.

Attributing to the rapid demand expansion for the edible medicinal materials in the market,the limited throughput of highperformance liquid chromatography-multiple reaction monitoring(HPLC-MRM)cannot fully address the measurement workload for a huge number of testing ***,it is urgent to pursue more efficient approaches for the quality *** of the greater selectivity of MRM cubed(MRM^(3))over MRM,there might be a chance to omit the time-intensive LC *** current study,we attempted to develop a direct infusion(DI)-MRM^(3) program,and the applicability was thereafter assessed through simultaneous determination of four ganoderic acids(GAs)in one of the most famous tonic herbal medicines namely Ganoderma(chinese name:Lingzhi).Primary parameters such as Q1>Q3>QLIT ion transitions,collision energy(CE),and excitation energy were optimized by programming online energy-resolved mass spectrometry with authentic compounds.A single DI-MRM measurement merely costed four minutes,and in spite of the wide occurrences of isomers,satisfactory selectivity was *** validation assays demonstrated the method to be sensitive,precise,accurate,and *** quantitative results from DI-MRM^(3) were also justified by conducting LC-MRM measurements in *** differences occurred for the content patterns between the two original sources namely Ganoderma lucidum and ***,and,moreover,either cultivar or harvest time showed dramatical influence on the quantitative features of the four targeted *** importantly,DI-MRM3 is a meaningful analytical option for rapid quantitative analysis of herbal medicines,because of the comparable reliability,nonetheless,less consumptions of both measurement time and solvent,compared with LC-MRM.
