Combustion mechanism of benzene in iron ore sintering process:experimental and simulation

Benzene is a typical component of volatile organic compounds(VOCs)in the iron ore sintering flue *** combustion behavior of benzene directly affects the emission of VOCs in iron ore sintering *** effects of temperature,benzene,and oxygen concentrations on the conversion ratio of benzene were investigated by experiments and numerical *** experiments were carried out in a tube reactor at temperatures of 773-1098 K,benzene concentrations of 0.01-0.03 vol.%,and oxygen concentrations of 10-21 vol.%.The numerical simulation was performed with the plug flow model in the CHEMKIN program based on a kinetic model that consists of 132 chemical species and 772 elementary step-like *** experimental results reveal that increasing the temperature and benzene concentration could signifi-cantly promote benzene *** is attributed to the increase in the reaction rates of all steps in the pathway for forming CO_(2)and H_(2)*** addition,due to the large equivalent ratio of oxygen to benzene,the conversion ratio of benzene remained constant at different oxygen *** simulation results were in good agreement with the experimental results and indicated that six elementary reactions dominated the formations of CO_(2)and H_(2)*** oxidations of C_(6)H_(5)O,CO,and C_(5)H_(4)O intermediates to CO_(2)were the limiting steps in the reaction pathways.

Virtual synchronous control has been widely studied for the advantages of emulating inertia for voltage source converters (VSCs). A constant dc-link voltage is usually assumed in existing literature to estimate transient stability of virtual synchronous generators (VSGs). However, actual power supply in the dc-side of VSGs is limited and different dc-link voltage controllers are needed to achieve power balance between DC side and AC side. Addition of dc-link voltage controller has great influence on transient behavior of VSGs, which has not been investigated by previous research. To fill this gap, this paper gives insights into the effect of dc-link voltage dynamics on transient stability of VSGs. First, two typical kinds of VSGs with dc-link voltage controllers are introduced. Then, mathematical models considering dc-link dynamics are established and the effect of dc-link voltage controllers on transient synchronization stability of VSGs is revealed through equal area criterion (EAC). It is found that dc-link voltage controller would reduce stability margin of VSGs and design-oriented transient stability analysis is carried out quantitively using critical clearing time (CCT). Finally, simulation results are given to validate correctness of theoretical analysis.

Implementing a signal-switching mechanism for the selective use of integrated sensors and actuators plays a crucial role in streamlining the functionality of miniaturized ***,a liquid metal droplet(LMD)-based signal-switching mechanism is introduced to achieve such *** modulation with a 100-μm spatial resolution enabled precise control of the position of the LMDs within a *** integrating the channel with asymmetrically structured electrodes,the effect of the shuttle-like movement of LMD on the temporal changes in the overall capacitance was ***,analysis of the capacitive peaks revealed the directional movement of the LMDs,enabling estimation of the position of the LMDs without direct *** addition,we achieved successful signal extraction from the capacitive sensor that was linked to the activated electrodes,thereby enabling selective data *** proposed signal-switching mechanism method achieved a detection accuracy of~0.1 *** sensor’s ability to simultaneously detect the LMD position and generate a signal underscores its significant potential for multiplexing in multisensing systems,particularly in concealed environments,such as in vivo settings.

Objective:To investigate the environmental and social aspects of poverty contributing to malaria incidence in Indonesia from 2016 to ***:Random forest regression was used to analyse the independent variables contributing to malaria *** conditions were extracted from remotely sensed data,including vegetation,land temperature,soil moisture,precipitation,and *** contrast,the social aspects of poverty were obtained from government statistical ***:From 2016 to 2020,the contribution of each environmental and social aspect of poverty to malaria incidence fluctuated ***,the top three essential variables were people aged 15 years and above,experiencing poverty(variable importance/VI=32.0%),people experiencing poverty who work in the agricultural sector(VI=14.4%),and precipitation(VI=9.8%).It was followed by people experiencing poverty who are unemployed(VI=9.2%),land temperature(VI=5.2%),people experiencing poverty who have low education(VI=8.0%),soil moisture(VI=7.4%),elevation(VI=6.0%),and vegetation(VI=3.8%).Conclusions:Poverty and variables related to climate have become the crucial determinants of malaria in *** government must strengthen malaria surveillance through climate change mitigation and adaptation programs and accelerate poverty alleviation programs to support malaria elimination.

Thirty-two primiparous and 31 multiparous Alpine goats were used to determine influences of diets varying in level and source of forage on performance in early to mid-lactation for 16 wk. Diets consisted of 40%, 50%, 60%, and 70% forage(designated as 40F, 50F, 60F, and 70F, respectively) with 60F and 70F containing coarsely ground grass hay(primarily orchardgrass) and 40F and 50F containing cottonseed hulls, alfalfa pellets, and coarsely ground wheat hay. Diets contained 15.9% to 16.3% crude protein and37.8%, 42.1%, 53.5%, and 55.4% neutral detergent fiber(NDF) with 10.0%, 15.8%, 50.1%, and 55.5% particle retention on a 19-mm sieve, and 26.1%, 29.6%, 38.3%, and 40.0% physically effective NDF(pe NDF) for 40F,50F, 60F, and 70F, respectively. Dry matter intake(2.71, 2.75, 1.96, and 1.95 kg/d) and milk yield(2.82,2.71, 2.23, and 2.10 kg/d for 40F, 50F, 60F, and 70F, respectively) were lower(P 0.05), but digestibility of NDF was greater(P 0.05) by diet and was lower(P 0.05) by diet or parity, but many interactions involving diet, period, hour, and parity were significant(P < 0.05). Sodium-ion batteries(SIBs) are considered potential successors to lithium-ion batteries in the fields of energy storage and low-speed vehicles, thanks to their advantages such as abundant raw material sources, high energy density, and a wide operational temperature range. However, several scientific and engineering challenges still require attention in the development of sodium-ion batteries. Electrolyte salts, as a key component of sodium-ion battery electrolytes, play a critical role in battery performance. This paper provides a brief overview of the research progress on different electrolyte salt systems in sodium-ion batteries. It discusses characteristics such as ionic conductivity, electrochemical windows, electrochemical performance, and thermal safety in various solvent systems. Furthermore, the paper summarizes a series of strategies for controlling electrolyte and electrode interfaces, offering references for addressing the challenges in the mass production and application of sodium-ion batteries.
