Toward Establishing a Low-cost uav Coordinated Carbon Observation Network(LUCCN):First Integrated Campaign in China

In this study,we introduce our newly developed measurement-fed-perception self-adaption Low-cost uav Coordinated Carbon Observation Network(LUCCN)*** LUCCN primarily consists of two categories of instruments,including ground-based and uav-based in-situ *** use the GMP343,a low-cost non-dispersive infrared sensor,in both ground-based and uav-based *** first integrated measurement campaign took place in Shenzhen,China,4 May *** the campaign,we found that LUCCN’s uav component presented significant data-collecting advantages over its ground-based counterpart owing to the relatively high altitudes of the point emission sources,which was especially obvious at a gas power plant in *** emission flux was calculated by a crosssectional flux(CSF)method,the results of which differed from the Open-Data Inventory for Anthropogenic Carbon dioxide(ODIAC).The CSF result was slightly larger than others because of the low sampling rate of the whole emission cross *** LUCCN system will be applied in future carbon monitoring campaigns to increase the spatiotemporal coverage of carbon emission information,especially in scenarios involving the detection of smaller-scale,rapidly varying sources and sinks.

Glaciers in the Pamir region are experiencing rapid melting and receding due to climate change,which has a significant implication for the Amu Darya river ***,surging glaciers,which undergo unpredictable advances,are potentially leading to the obstruction of high-altitude river channels and also glacial lake outburst *** study investigates surging glaciers in the Pamir region,specifically focusing on the Medvezhiy（M） and Russian Geographical Society（RGS） glaciers,using long-term reanalysis data records,unmanned aerial vehicles（uavs）,and satellite data during the last *** changes in regional climate were identified,including increasing precipitation rates（13.3 mm/year） and land surface temperature（0.1℃/decade）.Between 1991 to 2023,the RGS glacier experienced a significant advancement around 1448.3±30.0 m,while the Medvezhiy glacier showed a decrease of-703.5±30.0 *** is a substantial increase in the number（from 19 to 75） and area（from4889.7±0.6 m2to 15345.5±0.6 m2） of RGS lakes along with supra-glacier ponds based on a comparison of ArcGIS base map in 2011 and high-resolution uav data in *** M glacier,number of lakes increased from 4 to 22 but the lake area declined from 10715.2±0.6 to 365.6±0.6 *** was noted that the largest lake in 2011 with an area of 10406.4 ±0.6 m2at the southeastern portion of the glacier was not observed in2023 due to *** the glaciers have substantially impacted the river flow（Abdukahor river）by obstructing a significant proportion of river channel in recent years and might cause outburst *** findings enhance the understanding of glacier dynamics and their impacts on the surrounding areas,emphasizing the urgent need for continued monitoring and appropriate management strategies,with a specific focus on surging glaciers and the associated risks.

3D Distinct Element Back Analysis Based on Rock Structure Modelling of SfM Point Clouds: The Case of the 2019 Pinglu Rockfall of Kaili, China

This paper introduces the use of point cloud processing for extracting 3D rock structure and the 3DEC-related reconstruction of slope failure, based on a case study of the 2019 Pinglu rockfall. The basic processing procedure involves:(1) computing the point normal for HSV-rendering of point cloud;(2) automatically clustering the discontinuity sets;(3) extracting the set-based point clouds;(4) estimating of set-based mean orientation, spacing, and persistence;(5) identifying the block-forming arrays of discontinuity sets for the assessment of stability. The effectiveness of our rock structure processing has been proved by 3D distinct element back analysis. The results show that Sf M modelling and rock structure computing provides enormous cost, time and safety incentives in standard engineering practice.

The measurement and mapping of objects in the outer environment have traditionally been conducted using ground-based monitoring systems,as well as *** recently,unmanned aerial vehicles have also been employed for this *** accurate detection and mapping of a target such as buildings,trees,and terrains are of utmost importance in various applications of unmanned aerial vehicles(uavs),including search and rescue operations,object transportation,object detection,inspection tasks,and mapping ***,the rapid measurement and mapping of the object are not currently achievable due to factors such as the object’s size,the intricate nature of the sites,and the complexity of mapping *** present system introduces a costeffective solution for measurement and mapping by utilizing a small unmanned aerial vehicle(uav)equipped with an 8-beam Light Detection and Ranging(LiDAR)*** approach offers advantages over traditional methods that rely on expensive cameras and complex algorithm-based *** reflective properties of laser beams have also been *** system provides prompt results in comparison to traditional camerabased surveillance,with minimal latency and the need for complex *** Kalman estimation method demonstrates improved performance in the presence of *** measurement and mapping of external objects have been successfully conducted at varying distances,utilizing different resolutions.

A Deep Learning Approach for Landmines Detection Based on Airborne Magnetometry Imaging and Edge Computing

Unmanned aerial vehicle strike on a flat plate:Tests and numerical simulations

The incursion of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles(uavs)into airports often occurs due to the popularity of drones,which may lead to a threat to aircraft flight ***,estimating the dynamic impact load caused by drone strikes is *** paper proposes a test method with high precision and low cost involving launching of a uav to impact a flat plate specimen by using an air *** test results of uavs impacting flat plates at different impact velocities,such as the uav dam-age deformation captured by a high-speed camera and strain vs time dynamic response curves of plates,were obtained and *** the same time,a corresponding numerical simulation was car-ried out by using the explicit finite element software *** predicted damage to the uav and strain on the flat plate during the strike process were compared with the test *** overall trend of the simulation results is in good agreement with the test results,at least for the first three mil-liseconds of the *** shows that the numerical simulation model established in this paper is *** uav numerical method established in the present paper can be used to carry out numerical simulations and evaluations of the collision safety of uavs against large aircraft and high-value ground *** results show that the local deformation of the impacted target is uneven due to the distribution of concentrated mass components such as motors,battery,and *** the impact velocity of the uav increases,all parts of the uav are seriously damaged and basically in a fragmented state,and the battery is greatly *** interaction between the uav and the flat plate specimen is approximately 2.7 ms,and the uav numerical simulation model established in this paper can well simulate the real uav impact process.

In order to solve the problem of LMS algorithm, a new variable step-size LMS algorithm is studied. The algorithm is based on the sigmoid function which builds the non-linear functional relationship between step and error. By introducing the error feedback strategy to adjust the parameters adaptively, the algorithm solves the problem of setting parameters in the function. Compared with other algorithms, simulation results show that the algorithm performs perfect at convergence rate and steady-state error with a better applicability.

Track correlation algorithm based on CNN-LSTM for swarm targets

The rapid development of unmanned aerial vehicle(uav) swarm, a new type of aerial threat target, has brought great pressure to the air defense early warning system. At present, most of the track correlation algorithms only use part of the target location, speed, and other information for *** this paper, the artificial neural network method is used to establish the corresponding intelligent track correlation model and method according to the characteristics of swarm ***, a route correlation method based on convolutional neural networks (CNN) and long short-term memory (LSTM)Neural network is designed. In this model, the CNN is used to extract the formation characteristics of uav swarm and the spatial position characteristics of single uav track in the formation,while the LSTM is used to extract the time characteristics of uav swarm. Experimental results show that compared with the traditional algorithms, the algorithm based on CNN-LSTM neural network can make full use of multiple feature information of the target, and has better robustness and accuracy for swarm targets.

New approach for uncertain random multi-objective programming problems based on C_(ESD) criterion

To overcome the defects that the traditional ap-proach for multi-objective programming under uncertain ran-dom environment(URMOP)neglects the randomness and uncer-tainty of the problem and the volatility of the results,a new ap-proach is proposed based on expected value-standard devi-ation value criterion(C_(ESD) criterion).Firstly,the effective solution to the URMOP problem is defined;then,by applying sequence relationship between the uncertain random variables,the UR-MOP problem is transformed into a single-objective program-ming(SOP)under uncertain random environment(URSOP),which are transformed into a deterministic counterpart based on the C_(ESD) *** the validity of the new approach is proved that the optimal solution to the SOP problem is also effi-cient for the URMOP problem;finally,a numerical example and a case application are presented to show the effectiveness of the new approach.

Design,fabrication,and characterization of hierarchical mechanical metamaterials

Natural mechanical materials,such as bamboo and bone,often exhibit superior specific mechanical properties due to their hierarchical porous *** the principle of hierarchy as inspiration can facilitate the development of hierarchical mechanical metamaterials(HMMs)across multiple length scales via 3D *** this work,we propose self-similar HMMs that combine octet-truss(OCT)architecture as the first and second orders,with cubic architecture as the third or more *** HMMs were fabricated using stereolithography 3D printing,with the length sizes ranging from approximately 200µm to the centimeter *** compressive stress–strain behaviors of HMMs exhibit a zigzag characteristic,and the toughness and energy absorption can be significantly enhanced by the hierarchical *** compressive moduli are comparable to that of natural materials,and the strengths are superior to that of most polymer/metal foams,alumina hollow/carbon lattices,and other natural ***,the flexural stress–strain curves exhibit a nonlinear behavior,which can be attributed to the hierarchical architecture and local damage *** relatively high mechanical properties can be attributed to the synergistic effect of the stretch-dominated OCT architecture and the bending-dominated cube ***,an ultralight HMM-integrated unmanned aerial vehicle(HMM-uav)was successfully designed and *** HMM-uav is~85%lighter than its bulk counterpart,remarkably extending the flight duration time(~53%).This work not only provides an effective design strategy for HMMs but also further expands the application benchmark of HMMs.
