Background:Jiaohong pills(JHP)consist of Pericarpium Zanthoxyli(PZ)and Radix Rehmanniae,two herbs that have been extensively investigated over many years due to their potential protective effects against cognitive decline and memory ***,the precise mechanisms underlying the beneficial effects remain ***,research studies were conducted to investigate and validate the therapeutic effects of JHP on Alzheimer's ***:BV-2 cell inflammation was induced by *** mice were administered amyloid-β(Aβ).Behavioral experiments were used to evaluate learning and memory *** levels of nitric oxide(NO),tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α),interleukin-1β(IL-1β),and interleukin-10(IL-10)were detected using enzymelinked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).The protein expressions of inducible nitric oxide synthase(iNOS)and the phosphorylation level of mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)and nuclear factor kappa-B(NF-κB)were detected using Western *** staining was used to detect neuronal ***:The results demonstrated that an alcoholic extract of PZ significantly decreased the levels of NO,IL-1β,TNF-α,and iNOS;increased the expression level of IL-10;and significantly decreased the phosphorylation levels of MAPK and NF-κ*** inhibitory effects were further confirmed in the AD mouse ***,JHP improved learning and memory function in AD mice,reduced neuronal damage,and enriched the Nissl bodies in the ***,IL-1βand TNF-αin the cortex were significantly downregulated after JHP administration,whereas IL-10showed increased ***:It was found that JHP reduced neuroinflammatory response in AD mice by targeting the MAPK/NF-κB signaling pathway.

HPLC combined with chemometrics for quality control of Huamoyan Granules or Capsules

Objective:Huamaoyan Granules(HMYG)and Huamaoyan Capsules(HMYC)are chinese patent medicines with different dosage forms of the same *** to the different preparation process,the chemical composition of these chinese patent medicines varies greatly among different forms,but there were few studies on the difference comparison and quality control of *** order to improve the effectiveness and safety in its clinical application,an idea combining high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC)and chemometrics was put forward to study the quality control of chinese patent medicines in different dosage forms of the same ***:The differential markers of HMYG and HMYC were explored based on HPLC fingerprint and chemometrics including orthogonal projections to latent structures-discriminant analysis(OPLS-DA),principal component analysis(PCA),and hierarchical cluster analysis(HCA).Finally,the quantitative analysis method of related components was established by ***:A quality control method for HMYG and HMYC was ***,the chemical components of HMYG and HMYC were systematically analyzed by HPLC *** exploration showed that there were 20 characteristic peaks and 57 common ***,the potential differential markers between HMYG and HMYC were explored by chemometrics,and the differential markers were screened after intersection with the 20 characteristic ***,HPLC quantitative analysis methods for nine components were established,including seven differential markers(neochlorogenic acid,protocatechualdehyde,chlorogenic acid,cryptochlorogenic acid,caffeic acid,rosmarinic acid and salvianolic acid A).The results of HPLC quantitative analysis showed that the contents of eight components in HMYG and HMYC samples were significantly *** to the above results,the differential markers between HMYG and HMYC screened based on HPLC fingerprint and chemometrics can effectively characterize the differ

Comprehensive reutilization of herbal waste:Coproduction of magnolol,honokiol,and β-amyrin from Magnolia officinalis residue

Herbal extraction residues(HERs)cause serious environmental pollution and resource *** this study,a novel green route was designed for the comprehensive reutilization of all components in HERs,taking Magnolia officinalis residues(MOR)as an *** reluctant structure of MOR was first destroyed by alkali pretreatment to release the functional ingredients(magnolol and honokiol)originally remaining in MOR and to make MOR more accessible for hydrolysis.A metal–organic frame material MIL-101(Cr)with a maximum absorption capacity of 255.64 mg g^(-1)was synthesized to absorb the released honokiol and magnolol from the pretreated MOR solutions,and 40 g L^(-1)reducing sugars were obtained with 81.8%enzymatic hydrolysis rate at 10%MOR solid ***,382 mg L-1β-amyrin was produced from MOR hydrolysates by an engineered yeast *** total,1 kg honokiol,8 kg magnolol,and 7.64 kg β-amyrin could produce from 1 ton MOR by this cleaner process with a total economic output of 170,700 RMB.

Regulatory role of electroacupuncture on satellite glial cell activity in the colon and dorsal root ganglion of rats with irritable bowel syndrome

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the role of satellite glial cells in irritable bowel syndrome(IBS) and the effect of electroacupuncture(EA) at the Tianshu(ST25) and Shangjuxu(ST37) combination. METHODS: A model for visceral hypersensitivity in IBS was induced through colorectal distension(CRD) stimulation. Clean-grade male Sprague-Dawley(SD) rats were randomly divided into four groups: a normal group(NG), a model group(MG), an electroacupuncture group(EA), and a glial cell inhibitor group(FCA). Bilateral EA(2/100 Hz, 1 mA, 30 min) was administered at the Tianshu(ST25) and Shangjuxu(ST37) in week 6. Abdominal withdrawal reflex(AWR) scores were used to assess the behavioral response associated with visceral hyperalgesia, while hematoxylin-eosin staining was employed to evaluate pathological changes in the colon. The protein and mRNA levels of glial fibrillary acidic protein(GFAP) in the colon and colon-related dorsal root ganglion(DRG) were analyzed using immun-ofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, Western blotting, real-time polymerase chain reaction. The impact of EA on electrophysiological properties of colon-related DRG neurons was observed through whole-cell patch clamp analysis. RESULTS: EA significantly reduced the visceral pain behavior scores in rats with IBS in response to graded(20, 40, 60, 80 mm Hg) CRD stimulation. Additionally, EA downregulated the protein and mRNA expression levels of GFAP in the colon and colon-related DRG of rats with IBS. EA also regulated the resting membrane potential, rheobase and action potential of colon-related DRG neurons in rats with IBS. CONCLUSIONS: EA can regulate the excitatory properties of colon-related DRG neurons by downregulating the protein and mRNA expression of GFAP in the colon and colon-related DRG, indicating a potential neurobiological mechanism by which EA relieves visceral hypersensitivity in rats with IBS.
