Identifying multidisciplinary problems from scientific publications based on a text generation method

Purpose:A text generation based multidisciplinary problem identification method is proposed,which does not rely on a large amount of data ***/methodology/approach:The proposed method first identifies the research objective types and disciplinary labels of papers using a text classification technique;second,it generates abstractive titles for each paper based on abstract and research objective types using a generative pre-trained language model;third,it extracts problem phrases from generated titles according to regular expression rules;fourth,it creates problem relation networks and identifies the same problems by exploiting a weighted community detection algorithm;finally,it identifies multidisciplinary problems based on the disciplinary labels of ***:Experiments in the“Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality”field show that the proposed method can effectively identify multidisciplinary research *** disciplinary distribution of the identified problems is consistent with our understanding of multidisciplinary collaboration in the *** limitations:It is necessary to use the proposed method in other multidisciplinary fields to validate its *** implications:Multidisciplinary problem identification helps to gather multidisciplinary forces to solve complex real-world problems for the governments,fund valuable multidisciplinary problems for research management authorities,and borrow ideas from other disciplines for ***/value:This approach proposes a novel multidisciplinary problem identification method based on text generation,which identifies multidisciplinary problems based on generative abstractive titles of papers without data annotation required by standard sequence labeling techniques.

Temporal and spatial evolution of global major grain trade patterns

The complex and volatile international landscape has significantly impacted global grain supply security. This study uses a complex network analysis model to examine the evolution and trends of the global major grain trade from 1990 to 2020, focusing on network topology, centrality ranking, and community structure. There are three major findings. First, the global major grain trade network has expanded in scale, with a growing emphasis on diversification and balance. During the study period, the United States, Canada, china, and Brazil were the core nodes of the network. Grain-exporting countries were mainly situated in Asia, the Americas, and Europe, and importing countries in Asia, Africa, and Europe. Second, a significant increase in the number of high centrality countries with high export capacity occurred, benefiting from natural advantages such as fertile land and favorable climates. Third, the main global grain trade network is divided into four communities, with the Americas-Europe community being the largest and most widespread. The formation of the community pattern was influenced by geographic proximity, driven by the core exporting countries. Therefore, the world needs to enhance the existing trade model, promote the multi-polarization of the grain trade network, and establish a global vision for the future community. Countries and regions should participate actively in global grain trade security governance and institutional reform, expand trade links with other countries, and optimize import and export policies to reduce trade risks.

In recent years,the research field of data collection under local differential privacy(LDP)has expanded its focus fromelementary data types to includemore complex structural data,such as set-value and graph ***,our comprehensive review of existing literature reveals that there needs to be more studies that engage with key-value data *** studies would simultaneously collect the frequencies of keys and the mean of values associated with each ***,the allocation of the privacy budget between the frequencies of keys and the means of values for each key does not yield an optimal utility *** the importance of obtaining accurate key frequencies and mean estimations for key-value data collection,this paper presents a novel framework:the Key-Strategy Framework forKey-ValueDataCollection under ***,theKey-StrategyUnary Encoding(KS-UE)strategy is proposed within non-interactive frameworks for the purpose of privacy budget allocation to achieve precise key frequencies;subsequently,the Key-Strategy Generalized Randomized Response(KS-GRR)strategy is introduced for interactive frameworks to enhance the efficiency of collecting frequent keys through group-anditeration *** strategies are adapted for scenarios in which users possess either a single or multiple key-value ***,we demonstrate that the variance of KS-UE is lower than that of existing *** claims are substantiated through extensive experimental evaluation on real-world datasets,confirming the effectiveness and efficiency of the KS-UE and KS-GRR strategies.

Theoretical analysis of the elastic Kelvin-Helmholtz instability in explosive weldings

By considering the joint effects of the Kelvin-Helmholtz(KH) and Rayleigh-Taylor(RT) instabilities, this paper presents an interpretation of the wavy patterns that occur in explosive welding. It is assumed that the elasticity of the material at the interface effectively determines the wavelength, because explosive welding is basically a solid-state welding process. To this end, an analytical model of elastic hydrodynamic instabilities is proposed, and the most unstable mode is selected in the solid phase. Similar approaches have been widely used to study the interfacial behavior of solid metals in high-energy-density physics. By comparing the experimental and theoretical results, it is concluded that thermal softening,which significantly reduces the shear modulus, is necessary and sufficient for successful welding. The thermal softening is verified by theoretical analysis of the increase in temperature due to the impacting and sliding of the flyer and base plates, and some experimental observations are qualitatively *** summary, the combined effect of the KH and RT instabilities in solids determines the wavy morphology, and our theoretical results are in good qualitative agreement with experimental and numerical observations.

Fault diagnosis of a marine power-generation diesel engine based on the Gramian angular field and a convolutional neural network

The impact of water quality on the formation of halogenated benzoquinones and the adsorption efficiency by activated carbon
