In this study we have demonstrated that both granulosa and theca-interstitial cells of hy-pophysectomized rat ovaries are capable of synthesizing tPA and *** of a GnRH agonist canmarkedly induce these gene expressions in the ovary in a cell-specific and time-coordinated manner,so that asurge of tPA mRNA and its activity in both granulosa and theca-interstitial cells was obtained just prior ***-interstitial cells make PAI-1 become the most active in the *** the amount PAI-1mRNA and its activity in the cells reach the maximum level 6 h before the tPA *** contrast,granulosacells produce only a little amount of PAI-1 (most increase tPA activity),and both PAI-1 mRNA and activityin the cells reach the maximum after *** coordinated regulation of tPA and PAI-1 in the ovarymay fine-tune the peak of tPA activity which may be important for the regulation of the ovulatory *** changes of tPA and PAI-1 in the ovarian cells of hypophysectomized rats during GnRHa-induced ovula-tion are similar to that in intact rats during hCG-induced ovulation,suggesting that the ovulatory process canbe modulated by different regulatory signals mediated by influencing the coordinated expression of both tPAand PAI-1.

We sought to identify the differences between adolescents left behind in their home villages/towns （LBA） and non-left behind adolescents （NLB） on subjective well-being and family functioning due to parental migration in south China. We used a stratified cluster sampling method to recruit middle school students in a city experiencing population-emigration in Jiangxi Province in 2010. Participants included adolescents from families with：（1） one migrant parent, （2） both parents who migrated, or （3） non-left behind adolescents （i.e., no migrant parent）. To determine predictors of subjective well-being, we used structural equation models. Adolescents left behind by both parents （LBB） were less likely to express life satisfaction （P = 0.038） in terms of their environments （P = 0.011） compared with NLB. A parent or parents who migrated predicts lower subjective well-being of adolescents （P = 0.051） and also lower academic performance. Being apart from their parents may affect family functioning negatively from an adolescent＇s viewpoint. Given the hundreds of millions of persons in China, many who are parents, migrating for work, there may be mental health.challenges in some of the adolescents left behind.

Background Asthma has been a global problem,especially in *** aim to evaluate the contemporary prevalence and influencing factors of asthma among children aged 3–7 years in Shanghai,*** A random sample of preschool children was included in this *** International Study of Asthma and Allergies in childhood questionnaire was adopted to assess the childhood *** logistic regression models were used to evaluate the associations between independent variables and childhood *** Of 6389 preschool children who were invited to take part in this study,6163(response rate:96.5%)completed the questionnaire and were included in the *** overall prevalence of asthma was 14.6%which increased more than six folds from 2.1%in *** male,younger age,preterm delivery,being born in spring or autumn,being delivered by elective cesarean section without indication,miscarriage,high socioeconomic status,having allergy history,and exposure to passive smoking,latex paint,and dust were potential risk factors for childhood *** more time outdoors(>30 min/day),having indoor plants,and cleaning rooms more frequently were potential protective *** The prevalence of childhood asthma in Shanghai has increased dramatically during the past three *** findings about risk and protective factors of childhood asthma could be used to develop appropriate strategies to prevent and control childhood asthma in Shanghai and in other similar metropolitan cities.

Dear Editor We present herein the isolation and characterization of detergent-resistant membranes （DRMs） from rat spermatozoa. This is the first study on rat sperm DRMs. Detergent-resistant membranes including lipid raft and caveolae are cholesterol- and sphingolipid-rich microdomains of the plasma membrane that concentrate components of certain signal transduction pathways. They are receiving increasing attention as devices involved in the regulation of membrane fluidity and membrane protein trafficking. Until now, DRMs have been identified in spermatozoa from different species, including human, mouse, porcine and bovine. Increasing evidence has shown that these microdomains play important roles during sperm maturation in the epididymis and serve as platforms for the assembly of key recognition molecules that are involved in sperm-zona pellucida interaction on the sperm surface during capacitation. However, until now, no any studies on rat sperm DRMs have been reported. In the present work, we focused on the biochemical isolation and characterization of rat sperm DRMs.

Male infertility is a complex reproductive disorder that impedes a huge number of couples from having children naturally in the world(Agarwal et al.,2021).As an important pathogenic factor of male infertility,spermatogenic impairments are mainly characterized by impaired male gamete production,reduced sperm quality,or function(Tournaye et al.,2017).Spermatogenesis is a delicate and complex biological process that requires the collaboration of a large number of proteins performing different biological functions(Liu et al.,2021).

Background： As medication does not normalize outcomes of children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder （ADHD）, especially in real-life functioning, nonpharmacological methods are important to target this field. This randomized controlled clinical trial was designed to evaluate the effects of a comprehensive executive skill training program for school-aged children with ADHD in a relatively large sample. Methods： The children （aged 6-12 years） with ADHD were randomized to the intervention or waitlist groups. A health. control group was composed of gender- and age-matched health. children. The intervention group received a 12-session training program lbr multiple executive skills. Executive function （EF）, ADHD symptoms, and social functioning in the intervention and waitlist groups were evaluated at baseline and the end of the final training session. The health. controls （HCs） were only assessed once at baseline. Repeated measures analyses of variance were used to compare EF, ADHD symptoms, and social function between intervention and waitlist groups. Results： Thirty-eight children with ADH D in intervention group, 30 in waitlist group, and 23 health. children in health. control group were included in final analysis. At posttreatment, intervention group showed significantly lower Behavior Rating Inventory of Executive Function （BRIEF） total score （135.89 ±16.80 vs. 146.09 ± 23.92, P = 0.04） and monitoring score （18.05 ± 2.67 vs. 19.77 ± 3.10, P = 0.02）, ADHD-IV overall score （41.11 ± 7.48 vs. 47.20 ± 8.47, P 〈 0.01 ）, hyperactivity-impulsivity （HI） subscale score （ 18.92 ± 5.09 vs. 21.93 ± 4.93, P = 0.02）, and inattentive subscale score （22.18 ±3.56 vs. 25.27± 5.06, P 〈 0.01 ）, compared with the waitlist group. Mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs),which are pluripotent cells with immunomodulatory properties,have been considered good candidates for the therapy of several immune disorders,such as inflammatory bowel diseases,concanavalin A-induced liver injury,and graft-versus-host *** embryo is a natural allograft to the maternal immune system.A successful pregnancy depends on the timely extinction of the inflammatory response induced by embryo implantation,followed by the switch to a tolerant immune microenvironment in both the uterus and the *** infiltration of immune cells and serious inflammatory responses are triggers for embryo rejection,which results in ***,we demonstrated that adoptive transfer of MSCs could prevent fetal loss in a lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced abortion model and immune response-mediated spontaneous abortion *** immunosuppressive MSCs alleviated excessive inflammation by inhibiting CD4+T cell proliferation and promoting the decidual macrophage switch to M2 in a tumor necrosis factor-stimulated gene-6(TSG-6)-dependent ***-tocell contact with proinflammatory macrophages increased the TSG-6 production by the MSCs,thereby enhancing the suppressive regulation of T cells and ***,proinflammatory macrophages in contact with the MSCs upregulated the expression of CD200 on the stem cells and facilitated the reprogramming of macrophages towards an anti-inflammatory skew through the interaction of CD200 with CD200R on proinflammatory ***,the results demonstrate that a TSG-6-mediated paracrine effect,reinforced by cell-to-cell contact between MSCs and proinflammatory macrophages,is involved in the mechanism of MSC-mediated abortion relief through the induction of immune *** study also indicates the potential application of MSCs in clinical recurrent miscarriages.

Living cells and active factors are the two core elements of tissue repair,directly affecting the healing efficiency of damaged ***(NF)can release living cells,such as adipose-derived stem cells(ADSCs),as well as active growth factors to promote angiogenesis,thus realizing cell-based wound ***,a novel living electrospun short fibrous sponge is constructed by modifying three-dimensional(3D)bionic short fibers with engineered *** uniform distribution of the polydopamine(PDA)modification endows the living sponges with stable mechanical properties,reversible water absorption and excellent adhesion even after repeated compression by an external force and long-term aqueous ***,the living electrospun short fibrous sponges with uniform NF modification contain living cells such as ADSCs and active growth factors such as vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),which can effectively promote the tube formation of human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVECs).In vivo,the living sponges can effectively and continuously act on wounds and act as a bionic living skin to prevent the loss of internal nutrients,creating a comfortable and favorable microenvironment for tissue regeneration and promoting the healing of diabetic ***,living electrospun short fibrous sponges via engineered NF are expected to achieve continuous wound healing with in situ living cells and active factors in injured tissues.

Ferroptosis plays a critical pathophysiological role in several types of acute kidney injury(AKI).The development of nanomaterials targeting iron metabolism and ferroptosis is a promising approach for AKI ***,we synthesized gallic acid-gallium polyvinyl pyrrolidone nanoparticles(GGP NPs)as a potential iron-scavenging agent because of their nearly ionic radius and chemical similarity with *** results indicated that GGP NPs accumulated in tubular epithelial cells and showed good *** NPs significantly inhibited cisplatin(CP)-induced ferroptosis in HK-2 cells by reducing the accumulation of intracellular free iron and mitochondrial dysfunction,and suppressing the perturbations of ferroptosis processes,including lipid peroxidation,nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate(NADPH)and glutathione(GSH)levels,glutathione peroxidase 4(GPX4)activity,and *** in vivo study demonstrated that treatment with GGP NPs significantly ameliorated the renal tubular injury and mitochondrial damage induced by CP treatment or ischemia-reperfusion *** study suggests that GGP NPs may be an effective and promising candidate for AKI treatment and enable potential clinical translation.
