＜正＞Animals must cope with varying climatic conditions especially on pasture. Aim of the investiga-tiom was to study temperature effects on some metabolic chamcteristics of Black Pied Cattle 03), Galloway （G） and Scottish Highland （H） under exactly defined conditions. Measurements were made in four climafic-controlled respiratiom chambers equipped with video cameras for monitoring posture changes and devices for collecting excrements. Heat production was measured by means of indirect calorimetry.
