The present paper examines the hydromagnetic three-dimensional flow in- duced by a stretched surface. An incompressible material saturates the porous medium. Velocity and thermal slip boundary conditions are considered. Suitable transformations are used to obtain the nonlinear ordinary differential equations. Series solutions of the resulting systems are constructed. The effects of various pertinent parameters on the axial velocity and temperature distributions are analyzed graphically. The skin friction and the Nusselt number are computed numerically and graphically.

Mixed convection flow of magnetohydrodynamic(MHD) Jeffrey nanofluid over a radially stretching surface with radiative surface is studied. Radial sheet is considered to be convectively heated. Convective boundary conditions through heat and mass are employed. The governing boundary layer equations are transformed into ordinary differential equations. Convergent series solutions of the resulting problems are derived. Emphasis has been focused on studying the effects of mixed convection, thermal radiation, magnetic field and nanoparticles on the velocity, temperature and concentration fields. Numerical values of the physical parameters involved in the problem are computed for the local Nusselt and Sherwood numbers are computed.

This article investigates the three-dimensional flow of Powell–Eyring nanofluid with thermophoresis and Brownian motion effects. The energy equation is considered in the presence of thermal radiation. The heat and mass flux conditions are taken into account. Mathematical formulation is carried out through the boundary layer approach. The governing partial differential equations are transformed into the nonlinear ordinary differential equations through suitable variables. The resulting nonlinear ordinary differential equations have been solved for the series solutions. Effects of emerging physical parameters on the temperature and nanoparticles concentration are plotted and discussed. Numerical values of local Nusselt and Sherwood numbers are computed and examined.

In this article, authors study the Cauch problem for a model of hyperbolic-elliptic coupled system derived from the one-dimensional system of the rudiating gas. By considering the initial data as a small disturbances of rarefaction wave of inviscid Burgers equation, the global existence of the solution to the corresponding Cauchy problem and asymptotic stability of rarefaction wave is proved. The analysis is based on a priori estimates and L^2-energy method.

The effect of an inclined magnetic field in the peristaltic flow of a Jeffrey fluid with variable thermal conductivity is discussed. The temperature dependent thermal conductivity of fluid in an asymmetric channel is taken into account. A dimensionless nonlinear system subject to a long wavelength and a low Reynolds number is solved. The explicit expressions of the stream function, the axial velocity, the pressure gradient, and the temperature are obtained. The effects of all physical parameters on peristaltic transport and heat transfer characteristics are observed from graphical illustrations. The behaviors of θ∈ [0, π/2] and θ∈ [π/2, π] on fluid flow and heat transfer are found to be opposite. Further, the size of trapped bolus is greater for the case of the inclined magnetic field （θ≠ π/2） than that for the case of the transverse magnetic field （θ = π/2）. The heat transfer coefficient decreases when the constant thermal conductivity （Newtonian） fluid is changed to the variable thermal conductivity （Jeffrey） fluid.

Peristalsis of Carreau-Yasuda fluid is investigated. analysis is carried out in the presence of velocity slip and convective boundary conditions. Thermal conductivity of the fluid is taken to be temperature dependent. Lubrication analysis is used in the formulation of the problem. Resulting nonlinear system of equations is solved numerically. Impact of embedded parameters on the quantities of interest is examined through graphs and tables. Comparison of the behavior of the Carreau-Yasuda, Carreau and Newtonian fluid models is presented. Results show that the heat transfer rate at the wall for the Carreau fluid model is large when compared with the Newtonian or the Carreau-Yasuda fluid model. Also the heat transfer rate at the wall decreases with increase in the velocity slip and variable thermal conductivity parameters. Further, an increase in the Biot number reduces the fluid temperature by a considerable amount.

Randomized Latent Factor Model for High-dimensional and Sparse Matrices from Industrial Applications

Latent factor(LF) models are highly effective in extracting useful knowledge from High-Dimensional and Sparse(HiDS) matrices which are commonly seen in various industrial applications. An LF model usually adopts iterative optimizers,which may consume many iterations to achieve a local optima,resulting in considerable time cost. Hence, determining how to accelerate the training process for LF models has become a significant issue. To address this, this work proposes a randomized latent factor(RLF) model. It incorporates the principle of randomized learning techniques from neural networks into the LF analysis of HiDS matrices, thereby greatly alleviating computational burden. It also extends a standard learning process for randomized neural networks in context of LF analysis to make the resulting model represent an HiDS matrix *** results on three HiDS matrices from industrial applications demonstrate that compared with state-of-the-art LF models, RLF is able to achieve significantly higher computational efficiency and comparable prediction accuracy for missing data.I provides an important alternative approach to LF analysis of HiDS matrices, which is especially desired for industrial applications demanding highly efficient models.

This paper proposes an automatic ship detection approach in Synthetic Aperture Radar(SAR)Images using phase *** proposed method mainly contains two stages:Firstly,sea-land segmentation of SAR Images is one of the key stages for SAR image application such as sea-targets detection and recognition,which are easily detected only in sea *** order to eliminate the influence of land regions in SAR images,a novel land removing method is *** removing method employs a Harris corner detector to obtain some image patches belonging to land,and the probability density function(PDF)of land area can be estimated by these ***,an appropriate land segmentation threshold is accordingly ***,an automatic ship detector based on phase spectrum is *** proposed detector is free from various idealized assumptions and can accurately detect ships in SAR *** results demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed ship detection algorithm in diversified SAR images.

A consistent tanh expansion(CTE) method is used to study the modified Boussinesq equation. It i proved that the modified Boussinesq equation is CTE solvable. The soliton-cnoidal periodic wave is explicitly given by a nonanto-BT theorem. Furthermore, the nonlocal symmetry for the modified Boussinesq equation is obtained by th Painlev′e analysis. The nonlocal symmetry is localized to the Lie point symmetry by introducing one auxiliary dependen variable. The finite symmetry transformation related with the nonlocal symemtry is obtained by solving the initia value problem of the prolonged systems. Thanks to the localization process, many interaction solutions among soliton and other complicated waves are computed through similarity reductions. Some special concrete soliton-cnoidal wav interaction behaviors are studied both in analytical and graphical ways.
