Traceless photodegradable polymer cocoons for universal protein delivery and light-controlled gene editing

Polymer conjugation was found highly valuable in clinic to improve the bioavailability of protein ***,it is still a tremendous challenge to achieve a complete release of original proteins from the conjugated hybrid under external stimulus to recover active proteins in the targeted ***,we report a general light-controlled protein delivery methodology by weaving a photodegradable polymer cocoon around proteins,which could reliably protect them from degradation in the dark while efficiently releasing them under illumination without any residual *** surface charge of the polymer shell is easily tunable to facilitate efficient cell *** versatility of this strategy is demonstrated by the delivery of the Cas9/sg RNA complex that realized light-controlled gene editing both in vitro and in vivo,and such repertoire is of particular value in regard to minimizing the off-target toxicity of CRISPR-Cas9-based gene therapy.

An ultra-deep TSV technique enabled by the dual catalysis-based electroless plating of combined barrier and seed layers

Silicon interposers embedded with ultra-deep through-silicon vias(TSVs)are in great demand for the heterogeneous integration and packaging of opto-electronic chiplets and microelectromechanical systems(MEMS)*** the cost-effective and reliable manufacturing of ultra-deep TSVs,the formation of continuous barrier and seed layers remains a crucial challenge to ***,we present a novel dual catalysis-based electroless plating(ELP)technique by tailoring polyimide(PI)liner surfaces to fabricate dense combined Ni barrier/seed layers in ultradeep *** additional to the conventional acid catalysis procedure,a prior catalytic step in an alkaline environment is proposed to hydrolyze the PI surface into a polyamide acid(PAA)interfacial layer,resulting in additional catalysts and the formation of a dense Ni layer that can function as both a barrier layer and a seed layer,particularly at the bottom of the deep *** with depths larger than 500μm and no voids are successfully fabricated in this *** fabrication process involves low costs and *** a fabricated 530-μm-deep TSV with a diameter of 70μm,the measured depletion capacitance and leakage current are approximately 1.3 pF and 1.7 pA at 20 V,respectively,indicating good electrical *** proposed fabrication strategy can provide a cost-effective and feasible solution to the challenge of manufacturing ultra-deep TSVs for modern 3D heterogeneous integration and packaging applications.

A model reduction approach for discrete-time linear time-variant systems with delayed inputs

A model reduction approach is presented for discrete-time linear time-variant input-delayed systems. According to this proposed approach, a dynamical variable is constructed by taking advantage of the current state and historical information of input. It is revealed that the behavior of this dynamical variable is governed by a discrete-time linear delay-free system. It is worth noting that the presented variable transformation does not require the system matrix to be invertible. Based on the reduced delay-free models,stabilizing control laws can be easily obtained for the original delayed system. For the case with a single input delay, the constructed variable is an exact prediction for the future state, and thus the stabilizing control law could be designed by replacing the future state with its prediction. Finally, three discrete-time periodic systems with delayed input are employed to illustrate how to utilize the presented model reduction approaches.

Electrolytic water splitting(EWS)is an attractive and promising technique for the production of hydrogen ***,the sluggish kinetic rate of hydrogen/oxygen evolution reactions leads to a high overpotential and low energy *** to date,Pt/Ir-based nanocatalysts have become the state-of-the-art EWS catalysts,but disadvantages such as high cost and low earth abundance greatly limit their applications in EWS *** an attractive candidate for the Pt/Ir catalysts,series of Ru-based nanomaterials have aroused much attention for their low price,Pt-like hydrogen bond strength,and high EWS *** particular,Ru-doped functional porous materials have been becoming one of the most representative EWS catalysts,which can not only achieve the dispersion and adjustment for active Ru sites,but also simultaneously solve the problems of mass transfer and catalytic conversion in *** this review,the design and preparation strategies of Ru-doped functional porous materials toward EWS in recent years are summarized,including Ru-doped metal organic frameworks(MOFs),Ru-doped porous organic polymers(POPs),and their ***,detailed structure–activity relationships induced by the tuned geometric/electronic structures of Ru-doped functional porous materials are further depicted in this *** but not least,the challenges and perspectives of Ru-doped functional porous materials catalysts are reasonably proposed to provide fresh ideas for the design of Ru-based EWS catalysts.

Satellite anomaly detection based on reconstruction discrepancy theory utilizing a new dual-branch reconstruction model

To enhance the accuracy of deep learning methods based on reconstruction discrepancy in satellite anomaly detection tasks, this study proposes a dual-branch reconstruction model(DBRM) and designs a comprehensive satellite anomaly detection framework around this model. Firstly, we introduce the temporal-channel mixer(TC-Mixer) module, which mainly comprises a self-attention layer for capturing long-range temporal dependencies in telemetry data, and two types of feed-forward networks(FFN) for extracting complex patterns in the temporal and channel dimension of telemetry data. This design endows the TC-Mixer module with robust capabilities for extracting complicated dependencies in telemetry data. Secondly, with the TC-Mixer module as the main component, we designed the DBRM. This model utilizes a shared latent representation layer, allowing the regeneration branch and forecasting branch of the DBRM to share most of the feature extraction network architecture. This approach significantly enhances the model's regression accuracy while reducing computational complexity. Thirdly, using the DBRM as the core network model, we devised a comprehensive satellite anomaly detection framework. This includes an anomaly criterion that considers the reconstruction discrepancy of both the regeneration and forecasting branches, the peak-over-threshold(POT) method for anomaly thresholding, and the MIC-based feature engineering method, etc. Finally, we conducted comparative experiments with several SOTA anomaly detection algorithms on two public and one private satellite anomaly detection datasets. The experimental results validate the effectiveness and superiority of our proposed method.

A Hybrid Optimization Approach of Single Point Incremental Sheet Forming of AISI 316L Stainless Steel Using Grey Relation Analysis Coupled with Principal Component Analysiss

We investigated the parametric optimization on incremental sheet forming of stainless steel using Grey Relational Analysis(GRA) coupled with Principal Component Analysis(PCA). AISI 316L stainless steel sheets were used to develop double wall angle pyramid with aid of tungsten carbide tool. GRA coupled with PCA was used to plan the experiment conditions. Control factors such as Tool Diameter(TD), Step Depth(SD), Bottom Wall Angle(BWA), Feed Rate(FR) and Spindle Speed(SS) on Top Wall Angle(TWA) and Top Wall Angle Surface Roughness(TWASR) have been studied. Wall angle increases with increasing tool diameter due to large contact area between tool and workpiece. As the step depth, feed rate and spindle speed increase,TWASR decreases with increasing tool diameter. As the step depth increasing, the hydrostatic stress is raised causing severe cracks in the deformed surface. Hence it was concluded that the proposed hybrid method was suitable for optimizing the factors and response.

Beamforming design for covert broadcast communication with hidden adversary

This paper explores covert broadcast communication in a challenging situation in which the transmitter, Alice, faces uncertainty regarding the position of the passive adversary, Willie. In this situation,controlling the signal exposure becomes difficult. Specifically, this paper focuses on the cases where Alice can delimit the suspicious areas where Willie may be located. The suspicious areas can have arbitrary number and shapes. Under the Rician fading model, the analytical expression of Willie's detection performance is derived. Then, the transmit power, the beamforming direction, and the number of channel uses are jointly designed to minimize the optimal Willie's detection performance among all the possible positions of Willie, on the premise of satisfying receivers' quality-of-service requirements. To tackle the formulated knotty problem with an infinite number of irregular and discontinuous Willie's possible positions, the continuous nature of the antenna pattern is exploited to convert the original problem into the one with a finite number of possible positions, by sampling the suspicious areas. Then, different algorithms are developed to address the resultant non-convex optimization problem for single-antenna Willie and multi-antenna Willie, respectively. Numerical results demonstrate significant performance gains of the proposed scheme over the widely-adopted maximum ratio transmission scheme, which indicates that simply adjusting the main lobe towards the receiver is indeed far away from optimum and shows the importance of leveraging Alice's limited knowledge of Willie's position.

A novel evasion guidance for hypersonic morphing vehicle via intelligent maneuver strategy

This paper presents a novel evasion guidance law for hypersonic morphing vehicles,focusing on determining the optimized wing's unfolded angle to promote maneuverability based on an intelligent ***,the pursuit-evasion problem is modeled as a Markov decision *** the agent's action consists of maneuver overload and the unfolded angle of wings,which is different from the conventional evasion guidance designed for fixed-shape *** reward function is formulated to ensure that the miss distances satisfy the prescribed bounds while minimizing energy ***,to maximize the expected cumulative reward,a residual learning method is proposed based on proximal policy optimization,which integrates the optimal evasion for linear cases as the baseline and trains to optimize the performance for nonlinear engagement with multiple ***,offline training guarantees improvement of the constructed evasion guidance law over conventional ***,the guidance law for online implementation includes only analytical *** maps from the confrontation state to the expected angle of attack and the unfolded angle while retaining high computational *** show that the proposed evasion guidance law can utilize the change of unfolded angle to extend the maximum overload *** it surpasses conventional maneuver strategies by ensuring better evasion efficacy and higher energy efficiency.

An adaptive 3D reconstruction method for asymmetric dual-angle multispectral stereo imaging system on UAV platform

A multispectral imaging system often cannot capture 3D spatial information owing to hardware limitations, which diminishes the effectiveness across various domains. To address this problem, we have developed a multispectral stereo imaging system along with an adaptive 3D reconstruction algorithm. Unlike existing unmanned aerial vehicle stereo imaging systems, our multispectral stereo imaging system uses two multispectral cameras with asymmetric spectral bands positioned at different angles. This design enables the acquisition of a higher number of bands and lateral spatial information while maintaining a lightweight structure. This system introduces challenges such as large geometric distortions and intensity differences between multiple bands. To accurately recover 3D spatial information, we propose an adaptive 3D reconstruction method. This method employs a position and orientation system-assisted projection transformation and a normalized threshold adjustment strategy. Finally, mutual information is used to reconstruct the multispectral images densely, effectively addressing nonlinear differences and generating a comprehensive multispectral point cloud. Our stereo system was used for two real data collections in different regions, and the efficacy of the proposed 3D reconstruction method was validated by comparing it with existing methods and commercial software.
