Based on the principle of conservative matter removal in estuary,a new method is proposed for estimating the ratio of sediment resuspension in estuaries with fine suspended sediments in the turbidity maximum zone(TMZ) of the Changjiang(Yangtze) estuary during *** show that there was a range of 18.7%±27.9% to 73.9%±22.5% per annum of total suspended particulate matter(SPM),with an average of 49.2%.Nearly half of the particulate matter in the TMZ originates from sediment *** indicates that sediment resuspension is one of the major mechanisms involved in formation of the *** with traditional method for calculating these ratios in the estuary,this new method evaluates the dynamic variation of SPM content carried by river runoff from the river mouth to the *** new method produced more reliable results than the traditional one and could produce a better estimation of resuspension flux for particulate matter in estuaries.

A filamentous clone ofPolysiphonia urceolata was regenerated from segments cut from the fronds of gametophytes. Unlike wild thalli with short virgate branchlets, the clone was filamentous with few branches. Many transparent trichoblasts arose from pericentral cells during the induction culture, but these were seldom observed during normal growth. The trichoblasts were uniseriate, often colorless, and formed lobed rhizoids rapidly when they came into contact with solid substrates. In addition to morphological characteristics, the photosynthetic properties and growth conditions of the clone differed from those of the mother plant. Cross-gradient light and temperature culture experiments revealed that the most favorable conditions for culture of the filamentous clone were 22℃ and 95-120 gE/（m2-s） light intensity. The photosynthetic light saturation value for filaments was approx. 100 gE/（m2.s）, which is far lower than that of wild thalli. These results could be used to develop techniques for mass cultures of P. urceolata in photobioreactors for production of seed stock or bioactive products.

Calanus sinicus,the dominant copepod in the Yellow Sea,develops a large oil sac in late spring to prepare for over-summering in the Yellow Sea Cold Water Mass(YSCWM).The lipid accumulation mechanism for the initiation of over-summering is ***,we cultured C3 copepodites at four constant temperatures(10,13,16,and 19℃) and at three temperature regimes that mimicked the temperature variations experienced during diurnal vertical migration(10-13℃,10-16℃,and 10-19℃) for 18 days to explore the effects of temperature differences on copepod development and lipid *** stored more lipid at low than at high temperatures.A diurnal temperature difference(10-16℃ and 10-19℃)promoted greater lipid accumulation(1.9-2.1 times) than a constant temperature of either 16℃ or 19℃,by reducing the energy cost at colder temperatures and lengthening copepodite ***,the lipid reserve supported gonad development after final *** one male developed in these *** highly female-skewed sex ratio may have been the result of the monotonous microalgae diet fed to the *** study provides the first evidence that diurnal temperature differences may promote lipid accumulation in ***,and provides a foundation for future investigations into the mechanisms involved in over-summering in the YSCWM.

Inverted perovskite solar cells （PSCs） have received great attention owing to the high certificated power conversion efficiency（PCE） reaching 26.7%. However, interfacial charge recombination is far superior to perovskite bulk charge recombination due to the use of fullerenes and their derivatives in inverted perovskite solar cells, which induces devastating open circuit voltage（VOC） losses. For this reason the present work attempts to use 4-chloropiperidine hydrochloride for the upper surface modification of perovskite to construct a quasi-two-dimensional （2D） structure with suitable 2D layer widths （n=2, 3 dominant）,which has a smaller electron carrier transport barrier without sacrificing short-circuit current （JSC） in the device. This strategy effectively passivates the interfacial defect states while promoting energy level alignment to achieve carrier dissociation and equilibrium transport at the interface, which in turn resulted in improved fill factor （FF）. In addition, additional energy levels are provided by 2D perovskites to collect hot carriers, resulting in improved device open circuit voltage （VOC）. As a result, the device PCE increases from 22.37%to 24.11%after the 4CPD treatment. In addition, the 4CPD-treated PSCs maintain 90%of the initial PCE after storage in an N2atmosphere at 50°C for 1,080 h, whereas the control devices show a 15%PCE loss under the same aging conditions. This work provides new opportunities to suppress interfacial charge recombination in inverted devices.

Iron is a crucial micronutrient, and its deficiency can have detrimental effects on the health of infants. Dietary polysaccharide-iron(Ⅲ) complexes(PICs) are promising for addressing iron deficiency due to their minimal adverse reactions and high iron absorption rate. This study aimed to investigate the effects of dietary Enteromorpha prolifera polysaccharide-Fe(Ⅲ) complex(EP-Fe) on newborns, using 3-day weaned piglets as the iron-deficiency model. Results showed that EP-Fe improved iron levels and promoted intestinal development in piglets. Transcriptome sequencing revealed that EP-Fe increased the survival of intestinal epithelial cells under hypoxia by upregulating the expression of genes that promote the development of the vascular system. Additionally, EP-Fe enhanced the mucosal barrier functions by inhibiting myosin light chain kinase(MLCK)/phosphorylated myosin light chain(p-MLC) signaling pathway to increase the expression of intestinal tight junction proteins. Furthermore, the 16S r RNA gene sequencing of gut microbiota showed that EP-Fe promoted the enrichment of Bacteroides＿fragilis and other gut microbes that can metabolize carbohydrates. In conclusion, EP-Fe is an effective iron supplement for newborns, and it can be developed as a comprehensive nutritional supplement.

Brain plasticity-A universal tool with many variations:The study of brain plasticity has been gaining interest since almost a century and has now reached a huge amount of information(>80,000 results in PubMed).Overall,different types of plasticity,including stem cell-driven genesis of new neurons(adult neurogenesis),cells in arrested maturation(dormant neurons),neuro-glial and synaptic plasticity,can coexist and contribute to grant plastic changes in the brain,from a cellular to system level(Benedetti and Couillard-Despres,2022;Bonfanti et al.,2023).

Distribution of Different Biogeographical Tintinnids in Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea

There were different biogeographical tintinnids in the oceans. Knowledge of their distribution pattern and mixing was important to the understanding of ecosystem functions. Yellow Sea(YS) and Bohai Sea(BS) were semi-enclosed seas influenced by warm water intrusion and YS cold bottom water. The occurrence of tintinnids in YS and BS during two cruises(summer and winter) were investigated to find out: i) whether warm-water tintinnids appeared in YS and BS; ii) whether boreal tintinnids appeared in high summer; iii) the core area of neritic tintinnids and iv) how these different biogeographical tintinnids mixed. Our results showed that tintinnid community was dominated by neritic tintinnid. We confirmed the occurrence of warm-water tintinnids in summer and winter. In summer, they intruded into BS and mainly distributed in the upper 20 m where Yellow Sea Surface Warm Water(YSSWW) developed. In winter, they were limited in the surface water of central deep region(bottom depth >50 m) of YS where were affected by Yellow Sea Warm Water(YSWW). Boreal tintinnids occurred in YS in high summer(August) and in winter, while they were not observed in BS. In summer, the highest abundance of boreal tintinnids occurred in Yellow Sea Bottom Cold Water, indicating the presence of an oversummering stock. In winter, they were concentrated in the north of YSWW. Vertically, neritic tintinnids abundance was high in the bottom layers. Horizontally, high neritic tintinnids abundance in bottom layers occurred along the 50 m isobath coinciding with the position of front systems. Front systems were the core distribution area of neritic tintinnids. High abundance areas of warm-water and boreal tintinnids were clearly separated vertically in summer, and horizontally in winter. High abundance of neritic tintinnids rarely overlapped with that of warm-water or boreal tintinnids.

Dirhodium(II) complexes have achieved great success in organic synthesis,and fine-tuning their catalytic properties with various bridging ligands is well-investigated in carbene ***,combining dirhodium(II) with a sophisticated ligand as a catalyst in other reactions is still extremely challenging,especially for the asymmetric synthesis of valuable chiral ***,we report a dirhodium(II)/(S)-MeO-BIPHEP catalytic system for the challenging asymmetric β-alkenylation of α,β-unsaturated aldehydes,affording the corresponding chiral conjugate addition products in good yields with high enantioselectivities.A couple of drug-derived substrates were also compatible with the protocol,which has been successfully used to prepare biologically relevant pyranochromene *** mechanistic studies suggested that the dirhodium core might remain intact over the catalytic cycle,and the chiral diphosphine ligand plays a key role in this novel reactivity and determining the high enantioselectivities of the asymmetric conjugate addition.
